After multiple visits I have to say these are the best quesabirrias I've ever had. The tacos are so delicious, cheesy and filled with meat. The guacamole is the best. All of their food is made authentically and fresh, no one comes close to the quality. The people who work here are so kind, I look forward to getting food from them.

Can't say enough about the wonderful people and the unforgettable food at La Cocina. I've been hearing about their birria tacos for months, finally drove over to Caldwell for a taste. These are the most delicious tacos I have ever eaten. I lived in Texas for three decades and never heard of birria--so glad to discover this delicious style of an old favorite. They only make them on Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday, so plan your visit accordingly. The owner is lovely--and SHE CAN COOK!

Came here for lunch with friends. Place was empty. Great atmosphere, cool artwork, comfy seats,…read moreall the good sort of things. Right away we noticed service was gonna be an issue. While we were waiting on friends, the apps we ordered early took forever. This was a theme that would continue through out the afternoon. The food took forever. The tables sat around us ordered after us and were done eating by the time any of ours arrived. They forgot one of the burritos ordered and tried to claim it's because they ran out of that specific meat. It was way too slow to run out of anything. Server was nice, but the kitchen and food was just so insanely slow. Despite having to wait forever, once it showed up, it was okay. Not great, not terrible, just ok. I'm not saying I won't come back, I'm just saying I know what to expect. There are better Mexican restaurants in Caldwell, and a much better one in Kuna that I'd rather go to.

It was my birthday, and family tradition says the birthday-ee gets to choose dinner. I was going to…read morehit my favorite Mexican restaurant, but in my mind, molcajete came up. A quick Yelp review showed that Eliza's had recently opened. It wasn't in the core of old downtown, so it's a little tough to find. It's next to a Hispanic grocery. You walk in and go to the counter to order. The menu is perfect. There aren't a million things to go through. We got some guacamole and chips, tacos, a torta and the molcajete. I got a medium horchata to drink. We found a place to sit and a cute little fella came to deliver our chips and salsa. The salsa was fresh, and very clean tasting. I enjoyed it a lot. After a while the guacamole came out with chips... it was a hit. I little on the spicy side, but it was fresh, no doubt. While we waited, a mariachi singer came in and sang... and boy did he sing. He was fantastic. We absolutely loved the intimate concert. It took a while, but our food came. My wife had the tacos and loved them. The torta, for the 13 yr old, was great his only complaint was it was a little too toasted. The meat was fantastic. The food was legit. If you've never had a molcajete, it's an experience. The thing is a flaming hot stone bowl,(no touchy, it's hot,) filled to the brim with shrimp, strips of grilled chicken, Carne Asada, cactus leaf, cheese, onions, and some jalapeno strips. They bring it to you hot as can be in a boiling stew of a tangy green sauce. It's not cheap, but it could easily feed 2-3... The horchata was great. I enjoyed it, it was totally refreshing. The food came and so did the songs, BTW, if the guy we heard tonight is singing, you need to show up. He's seriously awesome. They were so polite and I really enjoyed it. Here are the things I took a star off for. 1. As sweet as the waitress was, she got distracted a few times, and could have paid a little more attention. I am gonna chalk this up to inexperience. We needed a chops refill a few times, and there were only two tables filled tonight. 2. It was pricey... but worth it. 3. This is NOT fast food. Plan on a long wait. Understand though, that you are getting some made to order food, not just a scoop of something out of a bucket. There were a lot of people making food, so it was weird to have it take that long... the singer made it ok.. because he was fun to listen to. 4. They could serve and refill water, instead of selling water . The kids wiped out their water bottle in minutes. All in all, the things they can improve on didn't impact the quality of the food. It was REALLY good. We will be back... I think that they will continually get better and faster. With the quality of the food, I'm shocked this place wasn't packed.
