    Pupusa de chicharron

Went today for some pupusas to go. Service was horrible. They did not even bother to seperate/ label the pupusas. We weren't even sure which was which since it was a big order. The women working there were very unwelcoming and unfriendly. The pupusas were terrible too. They barely had any filling. In the second photo is all of the extra tortilla that had nothing in it. They were more like plain tortillas than pupusas. They were hard too you could tell they were not fresh at all. I used to come here a few years ago, used to love it, but they have really gone downhill since. Their pupusas got a lot smaller too. Will not be returning. Waste of money.

Tasty.Fresh. Delicious. What more can you ask for?! Had a yearning for authentic Salvadoran pupusas and tamales... Perfect! The food is prepared fresh to order so be prepared to wait, but oh so worth it! Prices are very reasonable, portions are decent. I might have to make this my go-to spot for this type of food.

This is my favorite place for pupusas in the area (I tried La Galera nearby and it was too salty and I didn't like their curtido as much). I always get the same thing: pupusas revueltas (pork and cheese), sweet plantains, and I love their curtido (cabbage slaw).

I usually go to Salvadorian restaurants for pupusas - I usually get the revueltas which have refried beans , cheese, and pork - They're delicious but I didn't care for them much at this - they were small in other restaurants they're made huge but in my opinion it was kind of tasteless and barley had anything in them ... They also sell fresh mango with lime juice and salt but I could do that home - will not be back ..

It's pretty easy to miss this establishment but so happy I didn't. The food was well seasoned and really enjoyed every bite. The pupusa was fresh, super cheesy, and the chicken was perfectly cooked. There's ton of parking and the thing I loved the most about this restaurant was the great service that was received.

    Variety plate, sooooo good!

This place is great! I came here for lunch back in October and it was an awesome experience. I had never had food from El Salvador before so I got a variety plate and I was very, very glad i did; the plantains, papusas, steak, rice, and eggs were amazing and so very flavorful. The food is also ridiculously filling and you get so much food for the price. Everyone in my group was in a food coma afterwards and we loved coming here!

So my daughter just discovered pupusas and has been craving these delicious El Salvadorian specialty. As I always rely on Yelp, we drove 35 minutes away to this place. I heard the wait sucks so we called up for pick up. When we got home, the pupusas were still warm. We loved it! Almost as good as homemade, she said. The "Pupusas con todo" is definitely our first choice followed by the "revuelta". Hearty and filling. Their Tacos de lengua is so good, but the bistec is tough and dry. I always get horchata when I see one, anywhere. Next time, we will eat at the place and try their cashew drink.

I was already kind of full but the entrees we got were also very delicious. I wish I knew how to cook fish or chicken that juicy but keeping the outside crunchy-crispy. 10/10 for all the food. Idk why but the music was so upbeat and it kept me feel rushed for some reason but that might be just me! Haha The service was great, the water kept getting filled and they were very attentive. Would definitely come back again!

4 Stars for dine-in. 3 Stars for delivery…read more I think this is the only Pupuseria in Astoria & am very happy about that! Used to go to the restaurant Mundo in this spot years ago. It's a cozy space just a block from the N/Broadway stop & in the heart of a busy few blocks with a lot of restaurant, cafe, bar, & grocery options. Sometimes I forget about this spot because it's just off the avenue, but it's worth a visit! Have dined in (outdoor seating during the summer) & ordered take-out (placed in-person) before. Usual order are Pupusas (chicharron & loroco + cheese - a tasty herb, like little buds that taste basil/oregano-like), Mojito, Pomegranate juice, Marañon juice (cashew apple fruit - like apple + pineapple). Everything was tasty, fresh & well made. The red sauce (bits of oregano) & curtido (pickled cabbage & carrots, a few chilies) with the pupusas are a must! But 3 Stars for a recent delivery (Sunday evening), the quality of the pupusas weren't great (thick), the Elote Tamale (sweet corn tamale with sour cream) was soggy & tasted tinny. Not sure if it was from the foil and/or it had a leak when it was being boiled. Maybe this item isn't ordered often. Good leak-free packaging for the delivery though - lots of tape! 5 Stars for the female UberEats worker who delivered by bike (in December)! I'll stick to in-person ordering & pick-up (the pupusas take a little time to make, but worth it) & hopefully the quality improves. The service & staff has always been great and it's a cute restaurant for a date or even families!

The staff was friendly and offered great suggestions. Although it was very busy on Saturday afternoon, I was happy to find a few seats available with the background music at the perfect, conversational volume. I only came in to order coffee, but seeing all those delicious pastries and baked goods made me almost change my mind. There were several winter specials available, so I decided to try the dulce de leche latte. I really enjoyed it since it was bold and strong, but had a smooth, sweet finish. There were many tasty-sounding latte choices such as horchata, tiramisu, and the golden palms latte, which is made of turmeric. I look forward to trying one of those the next time that I return.

I ordered three fried empanadas (two chicken and one beef). they were okay - the crust is a bit different than I'm used to, but maybe the empanadas I typically have are baked. Also seemed to be more potato than meat in the beef one. The Americano coffee is awful. It gives mostly hot water with a hint of coffee flavor. I tossed it and didn't complain. Granted it's a cafe and not a coffee shop, but it's coffee! They have a plethora of other drinks that may be worth trying, but i will never order coffee here again. The decor inside is nice Also note, this is mostly a beverage and snack place. Very little food on the menu.

This little homey Latin food spot felt like it came out of Queens NY and not a suburban NJ town. Service is pretty informal and the woman working when we went wasn't totally fluent in English, but she was so warm and we didn't have any hitches with ordering. We went on an off-hour on a weekday so they were apparently out of most of their entrees except for a selection at their hot bar, but the pupusas were still available and that's what I wanted anyway. I ordered a loroco and revuelta pupusa plus a baleada just because I hadn't tried one before. The pupusas were hot and fresh and absolutely perfect, crispy on the outside and oozing with cheese on the inside. They came with a little slaw/salad and a delicious red sauce that I liked so much the server got me a second bowl and I cleaned both up! The baleada was sort of like a quesadilla with beans and eggs rather than cheese in a flour tortilla, which was alright but the pupusas just blew it out of the water. I also had a bit of the bistec encebollada, which was tasty and tender and a super generous portion. The food was super affordable for the portions and quality, and they do accept credit card. Really happy we stumbled upon this place, and would recommend anyone coming through town or working in the nearby offices check this spot out!
