We stopped by and I was amazed by the selection and how they were able to customize bags! When I saw that they offered this, I decided to place another order, this time for my sister's birthday! I wanted something glam, so after some talking back and forth, we decided on the pink box with gold covered berries and white hydrangeas (didn't really want to do roses tbh & hydrangeas would make the box look fuller), and had the order placed 3 weeks in advance to ensure everything goes smoothly. I understand that there can be some last minute problems, so I tried not let it stress me out, but wanted to share my experience. The female owner is extremely nice and says she can do whatever the customer would like. That being said, when she messaged me the day of pickup and said she didn't have hydrangeas, I was a bit disappointed. I would have thought she would have prepped for the day a bit more in advance. She did try to make up for it though by offering white roses instead and tried to look for some at heb , where she found some pink hydrangeas. Pink on pink is A LOT of pink though so I did ask if she could mix the hydrangeas with the roses (which she said she had). She came up with a beautiful arrangement! You could tell that they weren't fresh though (slight wilting), which was unfortunate. I was really excited to see the gold on the berries. She said she was going to put the gold over the drizzle to make them more noticeable which I liked. I liked the gold on the berries, but felt like some berries had very little gold on them/only had it on a smaller part of the berry. They still looked nice though! I'm hoping this was just a one time fluke and say she was just having a busy week. But I'll probably emphasize my criteria a bit more next time to ensure my order comes out the way I want next time. She's honestly such a kind person and such a hard worker, and I'll be happy to keep supporting her business! Update: The owner actually reached out to me and apologized for the minor inconveniences and tried to make it up to me. That's how you know she really cares about her customers. He is nearly blind and doesn't get out much back in Kansas. I try to take him to different breweries, distilleries, restaurants, and other venues. It is more fun for me when we find a new place neither of us has ever been. Picosos Peanut Company was one of the 22 stops we made during the week. My dad always had a can of these delicious peanuts sitting on his bar. I loved them then. They are still exactly the same. Jim, the buddy who was visiting, was my college roommate and spent many weekends at my parents house drinking at the bar and munching those peanuts. I sent him a few cans for his birthday last year. He wanted to get more at the store, but I told him we were close to the business itself. We stopped in when Gino, a son of the owner, was running both the peanut store and the liquor store nextdoor. He was just as awesome as his mother was when I visited before. They are super friendly people and have a very interesting family history. While telling us interesting tidbits, Gino helped Jim find all the nuts he wanted in bags so that he could carry them through the security check at the airport without worrying about the metal of cans. Since I hadn't had any in a while, I bought four cans to take to my house. The peanuts are hot and spicy. They use the smaller round Spanish peanuts, which I have always thought were crunchier and have more nutty flavor than the regular ones. The actual spice mix that is baked on makes them absolutely perfect for snacking on while drinking a beer. We had a great time talking with Gino. I highly recommend stopping by there. If you do, don't just grab something and go. Take the time to get to know the folks who are working there. You will be charmed by them and want to come back.
