Relatively new family owned restaurant with authentic recipes. Freshly made guacamole.

    Seafood chimichanga

5 Stars El Rodeo in Summerville is hands down one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to! The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, perfect for a casual night out or a family dinner. The food was absolutely delicious -- wife and I had the Mexican pizza and seafood Chimichanga, packed with flavor, and a very generous portion. The chips and salsa were fresh and kept coming without even having to ask, and the queso was a must-try! Our server was super friendly and made sure we had everything we needed the entire meal. You can tell they really care about making sure guests have a good time. Prices are very reasonable, and everything came out fast and fresh. If you're craving good, authentic Mexican food in Summerville, El Rodeo is the place to go! Already looking forward to my next

The staff is fabulous, and I always love seeing Valerie when I go in -- she's the best. Cocktails are consistently amazing and always so yummy, and the food never disappoints. It's perfect for popping in if you're solo, date night, girls' night, and if you're lucky, y'all can snag the big green couches in the middle room. And of course, you always have to go say hi to the bobcat when you're there. One of my favorite spots around -- highly recommend.

The drinks are priced on the higher end, but the relaxed, comfortable atmosphere makes it feel approachable. We also love that they offer seasonal and holiday cocktails, which is right up our alley. We brought Luna along and sat on the patio, which was a nice option. I would love to see heaters added outside to make the patio more comfortable on cooler nights. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive throughout our visit. I ordered the Fireside Chat (served warm), made with Four Roses Bourbon, Croft Tawny Port, apple cider, orange juice, grenadine, turbinado sugar, allspice, and clove ($15). I really enjoyed the flavor profile--warm, well-balanced, and perfect for the season. That said, I was a little disappointed that my second drink wasn't garnished nearly as nicely as the first, especially given the price. Flavor-wise, though, both were very good. My husband started with the Gingersnap, which includes Monkey Shoulder blended Scotch whisky, Disaronno almond liqueur, butterscotch liqueur, spiced ginger syrup, heavy cream, Angostura bitters, cookie rim, and nutmeg ($16). He enjoyed it but felt it was definitely a one-drink cocktail due to how sweet, creamy, and heavy it was. He also ordered the Smoked Maple-Bacon Old Fashioned with bacon fat-washed bourbon, spiced maple syrup, tobacco bitters, and a salted brown sugar rim ($16). This one was a miss for him--too sweet, with the maple and smoke overpowering the drink, and not much bacon flavor coming through. That said, the presentation was excellent; watching the smoke being lit was a highlight, and I even grabbed a video of it. Our total came to about $71 before tip, and we didn't order any food, so it's definitely on the pricier side. Still, for the ambiance, creative cocktails, and overall experience, I think it's worth it--especially for a relaxed night out with a more elevated feel.

My husband and I came here on the first night we moved to SC from out of state. I ordered the smoked wings w/signature dry rub and a side salad. My husband got the Philly cheesesteak and was very excited about the house-made cheese-whiz. The wings were excellent!! That dry rub is a chef's kiss. And that delicious side salad was a HUGE portion size! We already can't wait to come back here again! :)

The shrimp had a very strong, fishy smell that was honestly off-putting, and the flavor matched. It almost seemed like the addition of wine was an attempt to mask the issue rather than enhance the dish. The grits were also disappointing--lumpy and lacking the smooth, creamy texture you'd expect. That said, not everything missed the mark. My coworkers ordered the chicken salad, chicken wrap with sweet potato fries , blackened chicken pasta, and bruschetta, and all of those dishes were absolutely delicious and well prepared. They definitely helped redeem the overall experience and show the kitchen is still capable of putting out great food. Adri was our server, and she was an absolute delight--a total gem. She never missed a beat and was completely on top of everything. I also appreciated the convenience of the location. I parked across the street in the garage, which was well lit, safe, and very close. There's plenty to see and do in the surrounding area, which adds to the appeal. I'm hoping this was just an off day, because Montreux has been a favorite in the past. I'd love to see the shrimp and grits return to the quality they were once known for. Salsa was spicy and flavorful with a touch of heat. I enjoyed my enchiladas and tamale a ton. The enchiladas had proper queso fresco not the melted cheese goop common at many Mexican restaurants. They also still had Valentine's Day decorations up an it was over a week ago so I found that strange. They had a pretty big menu, but we ended up trying their street tacos and chicken noodle soup. My soup came out super quick which was fine but it was just above room temperature. Didn't have as much flavor as I was hoping for but all the ingredients were good. We don't love not having a double tortilla when it comes to street tacos because it normally falls apart easily and that's what happened with these. They weren't the best but they tasted fine overall. It was a pretty average experience with the food and service, nothing was memorable.

This was our first visit and excited to come back! The building is attached to Kings BBQ for delicious before show bites. We went for their "Golden Hour" and loved every moment. Glad we got there early because the parking lot does fill up quickly. There is additional parking around the venue, if it's full when you arrive. The entrance leads directly into a large bar area, with seating along the whole counter. Basically this area is half of the building so is surprisingly large. They offer craft cocktails, local beers, and wine by the glass. The second half of the building is the stage and seating. Personal space is a premium here as every spot is used for the audience. We saw 3 two seaters tables along the back wall as welk as a few tables in the front row directly at the edge of the stage. Both areas are considered "upgraded" seating/tickets. Use that info when buying tickets. The rest of the seats (at least for our show) are open seating. My suggestion is not to wait too long to find seating once the doors open. Not that there is a bad seat, but I do like to have choices. We had two openers and the main headliner for our show. Everything ran smoothly, with good volume and pacing. They then had a merch area set up after the show, back in the lounge/bar area. This got a little extra cosy but everyone was respectful. We would 100% come back for another show!
