I came to El Rodeo with a group of friends and the service was very slow. There were 8 of us, but we were the only people in the bar at the time. They had a $2 taco deal, but they don't include birria or pastor. I had a chorizo and asada taco. They were both okay, but lacked some seasoning. This wouldn't be my first choice for somewhere to eat. read more

The restaurant is huge and has great seating and decor. The customer service is great and they bring your order in a timely manner. There are a lot of food choices on the menu with a few vegetarian options as well. We found that the flavor could be improved. We found the food pretty bland and vegetables watery after the were not hot anymore. Their portion is very generous! They are located right on US 36 with a huge parking space in the front. They are business casual and family friendly. They do dine and carryout. I am unsure if they have outdoor seating available. read more

This is my friends favorite spot! She is super particular about her margaritas and they always make it just the way she likes. I'm always happy to meet up at this location when I'm in Avon. Enjoyed my meal and the friendly service. I had the veggie fajitas with rice instead of beans. It was tasty. The veggies had a lot of oil so it ate really rich. But with the rice and avocado it had nice flavor to me. The interior could use a refresh but it was fine. read more

This is where i had my first date with my Husband. The food is wonderful as well as the good memories and ambiance the environment gives.

The margarita was good. The food not so much. I ordered a chimichanga-beef. It wasn't deep fried it was just a soggy tortilla wrapped around some fatty beef. The chips were bland no salt. When I showed the waitress that the chimi wasnt fried, she said the cheese sauce made it soggy. She too $2 off the bill. We won't be going back. read more

Quick and kind service! 33. Pollo Supremo was so big and absolutely delicious! We were each given our own bowl of salsa which was great. I love the colors inside and the decor feels authentic. And that mega strawberry margarita tied it all together. I will be back. read more

Food was over all good but Birria could use more flavor and be a bit more juicy. The meat was a bit dry. Came here with a coupon I saw in the paper for taco Tuesday 2$ and no time frame was on the coupon but for lunch/ dinner special and we got there around 2:30 pm and lady tried to say it started at 3pm. I knew she was lying and I even made a comment saying "I guess we won't order until 3 pm and just sit here and eat chips and salsa" then she got upset a bit but said we could do the 2$ a taco. Then she overcharged us. Good overall came out too fast. Couldn't even enjoy our appetizer before being shoved with more food. Waitress could be a bit more nicer. Will Be ordering to go from now on. read more

I ordered on the DoorDash app and did pick up. It was ready a few minutes early which was good. Food was hot and tasty. They also gave chips and salsa which was nice. Their salsa is good just needs a little more cilantro. My tilapia and shrimp were really good. There were only three pieces of lobster. This location is good. I would steer clear from the location in Speedway. My friend had an actual cockroach in her food. I hesitated to try this location since that happened in Speedway. Glad I tried it. read more

What a beautiful restaurant! The inside was so clean, the tables looked new and the decor was beautiful! My food was delicious, only thing I would change is the French fries. They were a little limp for my taste , I like a crispy fry. My quesadilla was good and crispy. On Thursday they had 11.99 32oz margarita specials that were delicious!!! The chips and salsa also delicious, first bowl is free and $1 for each after, but so worth! read more

The food is generally delicious, but there are a few points that could be better. Portions are large and hearty, but some dishes were too salty, and the ingredients sometimes seemed not very fresh. Service could be more attentive - sometimes it was necessary to remind of additional requests. The atmosphere of the institution is pleasant, the interior creates a cozy mood, but the overall impression was slightly spoiled by minor flaws. Not a bad option if you do not expect perfect quality. read more

Went for lunch with my father and I. We both ordered the lunch special - steak fajitas. Food was appropriate temperature, portion size for a lunch special was generous and fed me well, steak was of good quality (and not that ground stuff), it was actual pieces of steak. Meals come with complementary chips and salsa. Price was very reasonable considering the steep price increases I've seen at most restaurants since pandemic inflation, so I felt the amount of food for the price was a good deal, especially for lunch! Staff was helpful when my father had questions about menu items. Authentic Hispanic atmosphere was very nice since I took Spanish in college and like to be immersed in the culture! At the very least waiters were saying things like "what would u like to order amiga" "gracias" "hola senior" - nice touch! I'm conclusion, I love authentic Mexican! And this was very close if not hitting the nail on the head! If I'm in the area again, this will be a place I return to again!! *Post pandemic practices - about half of staff wearing masks, signs for social distancing on front door and around interior of restaurant read more

Great service, very accommodating. 18 people on a Saturday evening and everyone enjoyed themselves.

We have been here twice now and I didn't realize that I hadn't reviewed it before. The food is very good and the portions are large. The staff is friendly and helpful. I would recommend the quesadilla Cameron. Stuffed with shrimp and delicious! The queso dip is thick and tasty. I look forward to more visits. read more

We've been here four or five times and it's always consistent. Decent food. Decent service. Decent price. We've really never had a problem with either. The first time we went, they had this crazy appetizer that came out in a huge, hot stone bowl. It had huge chilies in it and loads of meat and cheese. It didn't taste that spectacular, but man was it fun! They didn't have it the last time we were there. Also, their website disappeared taking their menu along with it. Nice, fresh salsa always hits the table with warm chips. I always add quacamole! I'm a big fan of Pabolo's Burrito. It's full of delicious meat, veggies and there's no cheese inside of it. I did give the fried ice cream a shot and it wasn't so good. Tasted a bit of old, icy ice cream rolled in stale corn flakes and I don't think it actually hit the fryer. read more

We have been trying to broaden our Mexican restaurant horizon to give everyone a chance, especially during a pandemic. We had a coupon for El Rodeo, and decided to try them out. It was a wonderful experience! We sat on the patio, and it super cute with lights, and all of the different tables were sat more than 6 feet apart. We had frozen flavored margaritas, and the consistency of them were perfect and were delicious. We ordered the large guacamole, and I had the enchiladas super rancheras, and my boyfriend has the arroz con pollo. Both tasted amazing and we both had to get to go boxes because the portions were so large. I dont think we got the servers name, but he was excellent and friendly. He even bagged up our food for us! If youre looking for another Mexican restaurant to try, try this one!! We will definitely be back. read more

Awesome large bar, clean bathroom, music and delicious food! Alex the bartender was a delight and made the best skinny margarita I have ever had. Five us visited for diner last night. Seated with no wait which is always nice. Waitress attentive on drink refills which I always appreciated. The food was nice. Nothing good or bad. The chips were nice and warm. Downgrade a bit due to the ambience. Just seemed a bit off with all the bud beer advertising and the frig right in the restaurant with some drinks in it. My first time here. Usually go to LaHa in Avon. Other irritating part was took long to pay. Line at register four guests deep by the time someone showed to take the $. If could do half stars would be 3. 1/2 May return read more

This El Rodeo is better than every other El Rodeo I've ever eaten at. My family originally tried to go to the LaHa down the street but the parking lot was FULL with cars lined up and boomer ladies standing outside with frowny faces. I flipped a b at the planned parenthood went back to El Rodeo where I was treated to slush mountain margaritas and damned near perfect carnitas. Yeah, the inside isn't perfect with some exposed drywall here and there but I was seated immediately and our server dude was top notch. The Justin C family CHOWED DOWN and had a pretty good time in doing so. Don't write El Rodeo off just yet. read more

Solid Mexican restaurant in west side of Indy. Great chips and salsa and margaritas. I have had the fajita quesadillas, birria tacos, arroz con pollo, and a few other things that were all great. I have been going here more often than La Hacienda because the parking is easier, and it's a little closer to our house. Definitely not a step down from there, which is another great Mexican restaurant in the area. read more

Not the best. Not the worst. But, it's clean, open, and fantastic Margaritas. I'd still come here often if I was in the area.

I've only been here once before and when i came i don't remember having a hard time and the food was pretty good. This time I got the Quesabirria and got the absolute worst food poisoning. i cant even right now because of how horrid it was. I'm sure everything else was great since my friends, who got different food items, had no issues...but i did. Everything else on the menu must be good but stir clear of the quesabirria especially if you have any kind of food sensitivity! read more

I have been coming to El Rodeo for 2 years since moving from California. Now I know Mexican food in Indy is not Cali. The last 2 times I have eaten here the place has been empty with only a few tables inside with customers. This place use to be extremely busy no matter what time you came in to eat. The margaritas are good, but they raised the price by 3.00 for a pitcher. $22.95. The food comes out so fast that you can tell it's not cook to order. I went there last night and everything was so salty, the meat, beans, and salsa. Again only 4 tables of people and all in the same room went there at 7pm. Very unusual. Needless to say I will be searching for another Mexican Restaurant twice in a row I have not been happy with the food and it's not busy. read more

We enjoy going to this restaurant for a few reasons. First because they are very family friendly. Our four-year-old can get a little rambunctious but none of the staff has ever made us feel bad about that. To their family friendly in this sense of their menu as well. We are raising a few picky eaters, so the fact that they can still get some of their favorite foods while mom and dad get to enjoy some fun cuisine is always a plus. Third they always seem to have great specials going on, we went last night and I love the dollar taco Tuesday special. You always feel like you're getting bang for your buck and when you have a family the size of ours that is always a big deal. read more
