    Pure laziness.
    Angela J.

I will never eat food from here again. This place is beyond gross and a huge disappointment. Something is very wrong with this restaurant. First of all, after my last negative review, as you can see, someone from Mcalister's acted concerned about my experience. They then messaged me and asked for my contact information for the store manager to contact me. No one ever did. That tells me this location does not care about nor take any pride in their establishment. Because it was so filthy, I decided I would not be returning. Last night, my husband calls and asks if I'd like him to pick up dinner. I said I wanted a salad from Mcalister's and figured he would go to the one that was near him at the time he called. Instead, he ended up going to this nasty location. As soon as I pulled my salad out of the bag, my heart sank. It looked a crazy mess and I could see large hunks of onion, not even chopped. The bowl also had quite a bit of empty space, which is not normal. It's usually so full with salad that you have to carefully mix in your dressing. I was able to dump my dressing in, replace the lid and shake it around. Usually the cup of dressing they give is the perfect amount. But because the salad was so scarce, it ended up being to much dressing. As I began eating, I realized that much of the lettuce was not good and a lot of the veggies looked old and gross. The lettuce even tasted bad, old and funky. I ended up getting sick shortly after eating what little bit of the salad I did. Do NOT eat here. I've instructed my husband to never get my salads from this location, ever again. It's filthy and they obviously have no quality standards in the least. The board of health needs to investigate.

Hadn't been in a while, but really wanted one of their spuds! We stopped in last night around 8pm, not too busy, but a small crowd still inside. I took some spud suggestions from a man named Chris who was not only helpful, but friendly! I believe I got the spud max.....? The meat on the potato wasn't overwhelming and I liked that! Shown in the photo- I ordered the pick/choose two. Chicken tortilla is my go to! Restaurant was clean and employees are constantly making their rounds to remove plates and refill drinks. I noticed they offer same day catering service as well! Last and most important (obviously) are their cookies! They are huge and come in a few different flavors. Always fresh!

I've always gone to this location but recently they seem to be doing our orders wrong. I ordered a king club sadly my sandwich didn't have everything on it it's like they rushed through making it. I also ordered a BLT sandwich and requested to add cucumber and sadly they didn't add it. I've had a long day decided not to cook and pick something up really disappointed and sad I didn't get exactly what I ordered. As a college student I don't have that kind of money to spend on gas to go back and forth.

Easy takeout experience with online ordering and easy pickup. Food was warm when we got it home and packaged securely. However, the pickle spears added were not included in the order. Everything looked and tasted good!

Pretty great for a Friday lunch on the run. Much nicer than fast food or Panera, without breaking the wallet.

A friend wanted to join me to join her for dinner and suggested McAlister's Deli. I really didn't want to eat there, but I'm so glad I did! When we arrived the line was super long, but it moved pretty quickly. I order the half and half deal, but with my extras my total was around $13.00. I ordered the Broccoli Cheddar Soup in a Bread Bowl with a Chef Salad. It was the perfect combination for cold weather. The soup was good, but I really didn't like the actual bread. Next time, I would get the soup without the bread bowl. The salad was small but filling. All the topping were fresh and the ranch dressing was pretty tasty. The staff was really nice and accommodating. My friends sandwich was not made properly, but they quickly made another sandwich for her and apologized for the mix up. I really like this location and will come back to try more from their menu! Happy Eating!

I absolutely love this restaurant the customer service is great the food is great a lot of the time the line Is extremely long but today for some reason there were 3 cashiers which was perfect. They have a lot of items on the menu for all types of people I love fatty foods that's why I get the nachos (lol) they also have items for people who are on the Keto diet and people who just enjoy eating healthy, they have a section for outdoor setting which is nice for those nice sunny days and nights all in all it's a great place to dine.

The tea that got me addicted to sweet tea. Staff is very nice about keeping it refilled too!

The O.G.B.L.T. is the way to go. It's a hot and melty sandwich with turkey, bacon, lettuce, tomato,…read morepepper jack cheese and mayo, all on a hoagie bun. The sandwich is about as long as my humerus, and I ate the whole dang thing in one sitting. New York Gourmet Deli is not to be confused with NY Gourmet Deli, also in Indy. New York Gourmet Deli is located on East 21st Street on the near east side; NY Gourmet Deli is on Ruckle Street, near The Children's Museum. Are they owned by the same people? I don't know, but someone needs to change their name so I'm less confused. Anyway, New York Gourmet Deli, on the east side, is great and located in an unassuming parking lot full of potholes. It looks like a liquor store from the outside, but step inside and you'll see the large deli counter where you order sandwiches, burgers, fries and other foods. The joint is also a convenience store, of sorts, with a wall full of refrigerated beverages, aisles of chips, candy, and lots of Mexican snacks. There's also a little corner of the store with goods like laundry detergent and other necessities. The hustle here is unmatched. The fellows behind the counter were flying all over the kitchen to fulfill the orders. I visited around noon on a weekday, which seemed to be a busy time because there were lots of people from all walks of life here, either waiting to order or waiting for their orders. The guys behind the counter were unflappable and took orders and made sandwiches at a speedy pace. Even if there's a line, you won't wait long for your food.

We knew they were going to have good sandwiches when we saw the boars head meat in the deli case…read more This is a carry out only spot. Service was very good with only a slight wait due to a small line. You order, they start making your order and you pay. A few minutes later the have everything ready and bagged up. I got a chopped cheese, it does reminded me of a sloppy Joe, and my only complaint was I wanted more lettuce and tomato. Richelle got the east coast roast beef and cheddar. She loved it and it had plenty of lettuce and tomato. Fries are good, and the give them a sprinkle of seasoning too. Plenty of cans of pop to choose, but would like to see a few diet pop options added. We will definitely come back, and I ask for plenty of toppings.

I've struggled with how to rate and review Goose the Market for a long time…read more I've struggled mightily. It's an Indianapolis icon in many ways. It's beloved. And listen, it's not the most wheelchair friendly place in the world. If you're a wheelchair user, you're in all likelihood not going to the cellar unless you're extraordinary with you're chair or you crawl. I remember attending a Yelp event here, and I just wrestled with these issues so much. It's not inaccessible - you can get in the door, though even the parking is a bit wonky and the curb-cuts a bit worn. This is an older building in an older neighborhood. So yeah, if you're a wheelchair user plan ahead. I am a wheelchair user. And I suppose I should knock off my usual 1-star for accessibility issues. But, I just can't do it. I, instead, choose to go 5-stars with my narrative disclaimer that there are accessibility issues here. But, my word. This is a great place and every single experience I've had with Goose the Market, including last night's Italian Film Festival, has been stellar whether I'm in their location or at an event they are catering. What is Goose the Market? First off, nearly everyone considers it one of the best - Indianapolis Monthly, Eater, Yelp, etc. Goose the Market offers a daily menu of sandwiches, soups, gelato, and small plates. It offers raw beef, pork, poultry, game, seafood, in-house made sausage/smoked meats, and more. It offers charcuterie - both in-house and from other producers. It offers farmstead cheeses, fresh produce, artisan breads, preserves, sauces, pickles, pasta, crackers, flours/grains, and a lot more. There's the cellar - Enoteca bar with Italian style wine by the glass and small plates (and it has all-ages seating). Goose the Market offers a wine of the month club, gift cards, catering, classes, daily specials, and more. What can I say? There are those places that are worth the effort. As a lifelong person with a disability, I long ago realized the world would never be perfectly accessible. It's never going to happen. I'll continue to work toward a more accessible world, though I'll also honor that there are those places where I feel welcome anyway. I feel welcome at Goose the Market, though I can't quite get the full experience. The service is exceptional, the products quite awesome, the environment warm and friendly, and there's simply no doubt it's one of Indy's treasures. So yeah, five stars. With a disclaimer that those with mobility impairments may need to plan ahead or have a companion along. Who wants to be my companion?

What a fun spot for a sandwich or cheese or sundry items!…read more It is on the corner of two busy streets but does have two spots in front for parking. You can also park in the gravel lot across the road. It was raining pretty heavily so we got wet but wasn't a far dash. The counter is like any deli with the items displayed in the cold case. You can browse the various freezers or shelves for items like picked veggies, canned fish or spreads. It was fun to see that you could buy everything needed for a picnic or impromptu lunch! We got sandwiches to go as well as locally baked cookies. I tried the recommendation for a vegetarian sandwich. It was nice and crusty and had some good flavor. I might create my own next time, but theirs was good and had lots of flavor! My friend was new to Indianapolis and really liked the options. She said she would be back and so will we. They also do tasting events and other things so we might check out one of their offerings. A fun local spot!
