Just finished a fantastic dining experience at El Rinconcito with my family whilst passing through town. Don't let the worn down exterior keep you from entering! Attached is a picture of the outside so you know where it is when arriving. We ordered the Shrimp Quesadilla (add veggies), the A1 Fajitas Rinconcito, & the Brandon Fries with carne asada. Every single item that arrived to our table was fresh from the kitchen, hot and steaming - even our chips for our salsa were warm to the touch. The salsa and the three sauces for the meal were amazing. I'm an avid visitor/enjoyer of Mexican small businesses and I can say without a doubt this is the most flavorful Mexican food I've had the pleasure of eating. I did not want the experience to end. I'm devastated that this isn't closer to home! Service was great, and loved the homey feel of the interior with hand painted booths & napkin holders. This little place reminds me of the home cooked Mexican food I grew up on in San Antonio, Tx.!!! I used to stop in when I came to visit mom and dad, now that I've moved back it's still the best place to eat!! Excellent service, food hot and plentiful for the price. WHAT HAPPENED!!!!???? We made our weekly trek from Texarkana. The food was absolutely the worst Mexican food Both Judy and I ever had. They changed the cook; they had to. The presentation was different. This cook used olives in the garnish. The quac and sour cream were dabs instead of scoops. The refried beans had an off-taste like rancid lard. And the beef...if the beef wasn't canned, someone tried very hard to make it taste like it. We ate less than a third of our meals and then left. The waitresses were poorly trained. This formerly terrific little place will not be in business long serving garbage like this. read more

Just ate lunch here and it was GREAT! A co worker and I had the Tuesday special tacos with grilled onions and a jalapeño. It also came with charro beans. Everything was really good ! Chips were home made and fresh . Salsa was exceptional! The 3 sauces they brought for the tacos were all good! I rate it 15 on a scale from 1-10! read more
