The food from beginning with appetizers, main course and desserts!…read more The service was phenomenally excellent as they were right there on point without having to have glasses filled with water, checked to see if another glass of wine was wanted and totally respectful! The Manager checked on various times to make sure we were satisfied.

We arrived around 4:15 to catch the Happy Hour. When we arrived, we noticed the slight musty smell…read moreright at the entryway...not a good impression. We asked the bartender if we could enjoy the Happy Hour at one of the tables, he said, No. Only at the bar. Something that was not spelled out on the menu nor the website. We sat at the bar. The menu listed the house gin at $5. I asked which Gin did they use as House Gin. The bartender said, I can give you Tanqueray but the price is not $5 like the menu says, it's $7. He said that menu was from Milford, not Westbrook. Weird...so I get a glass of wine, which did ring at $6 like the menu said. We ordered a few "tapas". Out of the four that we tried, the best one was the turnover (empanada), then the meatballs (tiny meatballs), then the fried calamari (which tasted and looked out of a frozen wholesale fried calamari bag) and last the pork medallion (not tasty at all). When the bill came, two of the tapas had the wrong price (higher than what the menu said)....I had to ask the bartender to rectify, which he did.....Poor people the ones that do not check their bills....they can easily be overcharged here....Big time..... Not recommended....not coming back.

The mofongo with shrimp was incredible -- perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, soft inside,…read moreand packed with garlic flavor. The shrimp were juicy, fresh, and cooked just right. Every bite tasted homemade and authentic. Definitely one of the best mofongo dishes I've had. The portion size was generous, and the sauce tied everything together perfectly without overpowering the dish. You can tell real care went into the preparation and presentation. I'd absolutely come back for this again and recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Puerto Rican food.

Vibe was off as soon as we walked in but decided to give it a go anyway. Btw around 6pm on a Friday. Only one server who seemed new and was doing everything by herself. We then decided to order and the first she said was "oh we are out of this and we are out of that." Flag! Not busy at all as a matter of fact only a couple of people inside and 2 at the bar. Then when I ordered pollo guisado she said "oh I'm sorry we are out of that too.." I said ok bistec then and my brother ordered the same with the rice n beans and a side order of tostones.. everything was bland rice, beans, and especially the bistec. No flavor whatsoever. And the Bistec although bland tasted like it was old and had a weird taste to it. My brother agreed l. Simply horrible! The only 2 things that were good was the tostones and the parcha juice! That was it definitely NOT worth the money at all. If you go again expecting how it used to be well prepare to be disappointed to say the least. You will see. Sad.

Parking lot was a little cramped, but that's understandable due to the snow. I had a feeling I had…read morebeen here before, but it was a different restaurant. Found out later that it was formerly Watami. I recognized the window view from the inside. Arrived a few minutes before our reservation, and we were seated right away at a cozy corner. The place had several tables occupied, and it looks like we got there at the right time. Drink and appetizer orders were taken, and we had a little time to look through the menu. A bottle of wine and a couple of cocktails came out and entree orders were taken promptly. I had looked it up ahead of time, and had my sights set on the Paella Valencia. We also got the Grilled Octopus (perfectly grilled and seasoned), empanadas which were smaller than I expected, but delicious (Might have been too much if they were bigger). we also had the seafood-stuffed jalapenos, and calamari for appetizers, and others in our party got the lamb chops, stuffed sole, and salmon for their mains. I finished my entire pot of paella, it was fantastic. I always like when the chef comes around to see firsthand how the guests are enjoying their meals, and Chef Nunez did just that. I think we'll bring other people here next time, there were many other items that caught my eye that reminded me of our time in Spain.

We came here on a Thursday night in December. The parking lot was jammed packed and chaotic. Oddly…read morewhen we walked in the bar area and restaurant are upfront was pretty empty. Turns out there was a Christmas party happening in the back, must have been quite the rager. We were referred here by some locals that seemed to know most of the wait staff so that seemed promising. The drinks were average the food was SUPERB. We were a fairly large group (maybe), there were 8 of us. The food presentation was that of a high end restaurant, and it was definitely not my typical menu so that was a nice change of pace. Don't expect a Chilis menu or some other basic chain menu. One downfall, one of the dinners came out about twenty minutes after everyone else's. The manager took care of it which was the decent thing to do, maybe it was mixed into the party room, idk. Overall a great experience.
