My sister and her guests has been waiting over 1 1/2 hours for a table of 20 and the hostess told us it will be a hour wait then the manager states after the hour we already waited that we have to wait for an additional hour like OMG!!! We've been coming to this place for awhile. Food is always great. It is loud, so be prepared for that. We noticed on our last visit that(party of only 2) 15% gratuity was added to our bill along with a 4% credit/debit card fee. We have never noticed the gratuity before, but it may only be added if you have alcoholic beverages. The 4% credit card fee is new, and seems quite unnecessary. These fee and gratuity are also not very well illustrated on the itemized receipt so I'm sure the server's are getting double tipped more often than not(I spent 10 years in the industry so I'm sure the server's love it). This was surprisingly delicious I had the parrillada with fajita chicken and shrimp and everything was good including the rice and beans it comes with on the side. Horrible establishment with horrible customer service. Came here last night for a birthday party celebration. My cousin was told by the manager, ROY, that the wait time was an hour. So after an hour passes by, he then says it will be another hour. Roy is extremely rude and does not deserve to manage an establishment that has potential to be great. So I approached him to try to resolve the issue and his response to me was "I told her at least an hour, the first time." My cousin stated that he lied and if that's the case, we would have left first time around. It is extremely loud in the establishment prior to the Dj. We ended up leaving and going to Los Cucos (my favorite) across the street. We had a great time and was seated immediately after arriving at Los Cucos. In the restaurant business, a person comes to your establishment for good food, customer service and a good time away from home. My last visit was the total opposite. I think THE general manager, who was quick to let us know his title, needs to realize your doors may be full today but you cannot continue to fuss and argue with your customers when your staff is in the wrong. You need to determine, do you want to be over staffed or do you want your business to continue to grow so you can afford to pay your napkin rolling team??? I waited over 15-20 mins for someone to acknowledge me (keyword:acknowledge) But I still never received a waitress or waiter to take my order. I became more frustrated watching the table next to me with seven employees laughing and playing amongst one another, as they rolled napkins and silverware. When I complained to the manager that there were waiters available to help, they were just rolling silverware, he said to me, " they were doing what they were supposed to be doing!" I was shocked!!! So, I asked was it not possible to have at least one of the waiters available to service Me? He again told me they were doing what they were supposed to do? If this is the customer service this manager allows in his establishment, I will NEVER step foot in their doors AGAIN. I'm still speechless that this manager yelled back-and-forth with a guest and all I offered was patience from the moment I arrived and wanted to have a nice evening with my friends! If you love being disappointed, frustrated and belittled this is the place for you! I stop to have beverage on my way home. Wednesday 12/15/2021 I place an order of jumbo street tacos to go. Was told it came with refried beans. So they offer me for extra rice. paid for 28.05 for it. Didn't get the Oder I purchase. Called the next day the Manager told me he was off that day he did know what Happen. The results I got was to replace sides on my next visit. I was disappointed . So El Rufo is sister restaurant to Mi Rancho. Ask any locals for a recommendation to a Mexican restaurant and more than likely they'll name this one. The Mexicans food is on point here. The only downfall is that they close at 10pm! What! Why? Can't Be! Back to El Rufo: So El Rufo is an alternative that offers a slim down version of Mi Ranchos Menu, an enhanced drink menu, open til 1am, and loud loud music. Yea yea big deal, the music can sometimes get on people's nerves. I myself have to scream to my girlfriend just to tell her to pass me the salsa that she is hogging, but the loud music works here. "Hmmm, if they only had a live mariachi band playing Vicente fernandez". There's even a 6x6 square by the restrooms where people get their grove on. It's a fun environment to be at, until the moment you have to use the restroom, so hard to get by the people doing the Macarena, the cha cha slide, or my favorite, the Cupid shuffle. Friday nights is usually its peak hours of the week, sometimes you will need to wait 15-30 min to grab a table, so if your there just for a quick bite I would recommend going elsewhere. And if you do get a table might as well stay there til they shut the place shuts down, hey, why not? YOLO. If you get confused on what to order, please , please keep it simple, just order the street tacos fajita meat. Comes what seems to a a pound of rice and beans and a special salsa, that's right a special salsa for special tacos. #goosebumps. You will be very satisfied I promise you. A chile con queso with ground beef is perfect with their homemade chips. Well I've always have came here to eat. My WHOLE ENTIRE family does... but I order from DoorDash and when my food arrived it was cold. Well, I contacted DoorDash first and complain with them. DoorDash told me I have to call the restaurant. So I did but not only was the young lady was RUDE. I was explaining to her that DoorDash said I have to contact them about my food being cold. The Street Tacos WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE!!! I tried them last week and I will be back this week to eat them again. They are honestly the best tacos I've ever had (I'm Mexican and I've eaten plenty of tacos during my lifetime) I had the chicken tacos fyi. Do it!!! You will be trying to eat every last morsel on that plate lol This place is very unique because it has a full restaurant menu with a sports bar feel. The bar is pretty amazing too!!! This is the best place to come after work for Happy Hour and meet new people. My waitress was wonderful drinks were nice and strong the food was just Ok the drinks and environment was Fantastic. I will definitely be going again soon. Try the Hennessy Margaritas one was enough for me, it's not on the Happy Hour menu so you pay full price. This particular day, I was upset, using the women's restroom and they sent in a manly, woman Constable (no windows) to come in and scare me I guess. Today was the worst experience I've had at El Refu. I flew in from Vegas and wanted a drink and some food after the flight. I went in and asked for a table for two. The hostess stated there would be a 30-45 minute wait, because there was only one waitress for the whole restaurant. That was fine, I signed in for the wait list and was instructed I needed to wait in my car (even though there were customers waiting on the bench for their food order). We went back in the car and waited an noticed 3 other parties walked in but did not walk back out. After the 4th party walked in, we got back out of the car and walked to the front and that 4th party were seated immediately. I asked the host (now a man) why was I instructed to go wait in my car on a waitlist and 4 other groups have came in and were seated immediately. He apologized and said he wasn't aware of a waitlist and seated us right away. So I'm confused at this point why we were instructed to leave if there was seating available. Then the waiter came to take our drink orders and we asked for two Hennessy margaritas and was told they ran out of Hennessy. At this point, we just left. The original hostess service and the lack of bar items were just too much to deal with. 30 minutes after leaving, I was sent a text saying that my table was ready from the waitlist. Let me start by saying we had great service last night our server was Marisol. She took great care of us wasn't pushy and was patient with us since it was our first time. We order the ceviche to start then we ordered the Casador Mix for 2. It was really good. We had to get a To-Go box because it was too much food. The DJ started at 8pm very good music and the atmosphere was chill and relaxed even with the music. My girls had a great time and there was nothing left on their plate either. You have to try their margaritas. A DosRita to be exact. Will be going back. Great lunch menu as well. Again great service from our server Marisol. Tonight my family of four (2 adults, 1 child, 1 infant) had dinner at El Refu and had a wonder experience for several reasons. 1. They were quick to seat us, but what I appreciated the most was they were quick to get me the high chair. 2. They quickly came with the chips/salsa and quickly took our drink order as well. 3. The drinks came back with in what felt like seconds, and they made sure my child had a cup with a lid as to not spill. 4. Their sweet tea is just perfect not overly sweet like other places. 5. The waiter was very attentive and when the food order was placed it literally came back so fast I was in shock! It was just amazing! I appreciated that so much, because with two little ones I want to be in an out as to not disturb other patrons. 6. Not once did we need to ask for a refill! 7. The food was absolutely delicious!!!!! 8. The chips and salsa were super fresh! 9. Great service 10. I didn't have a margarita, but they looked so good. We will be back!
