It's been awhile since we went to el provocon and I wanted some Spanish food so we stopped quickly the other day. My chicken although it was in sauce was kind of dry and bland. I thought the chicken was supposed to have potatoes and carrots in it but it didn't. I also sampled the pork which I thought was a little dry as well. The prices aren't listed and I'm pretty sure they went up. It was $32 for the 2 platters, I thought they had $6 or $7 platters. I ordered via ubereats. For the price, I thought it was be as good as what I use to eat in Washington Heights, NYC. It wasn't! The chicken was so dry, like a rock... so dry and hard when I took it and hit it on the plate, you'd think I had sticks in my hands. The beans wasn't cooked enough, it's like they poured the beans into the pot, added spices heat it and served it. They were very undercooked. The rice was just a waste of money. ordered through dd for my hubby. i ordered side of yellow rice n peas for $6, n slow-cooked pork $10. the pork came in this tiny container which i thought was the rice. the rice was in much bigger container. he said it was ok but the rice was very bland to me. not worth the $18 plus tip i spent. wont order again. read more

I have been to here plenty of times and the food is good. Today tho they ran out of stew chicken and I came pretty early they was open for less then 2 hours. Went for the $3.99 lunch special. For the lunch special, I believe it's just chicken. Lunch special runs from 11am-2pm, Monday's to Friday's. You also get rice and a small salad. The chicken was freshly cook. You can pick between white or yellow rice (I recommend yellow). Salad isn't anything to rave about, just makes you feel good that you ate some greens for the day. I believe they use a vinegar-type dressing for the salad. After talking to the cashier about the drink options, I ordered their tamarindo drink ($4) which actually turned out to be the thing I like best from here. The drink was sweet for my taste but I think it was worth it. The cashier told me they make their own juices. Line was short and the workers move fast. Parking can be hard to find at times but you could always park street. read more

Ordered on Saturday $40 for 2 lunches and 1 side of tostones it was a raining so their personal delivery guy was unavailable so they put my order through DoorDash. Yay another Provocon added to the area and just a tad bit closer to my house! This location is in a tiny strip mall, and easy to miss, so make sure you are on the look out. Just like the other locations, this one is buffet style with many of the similar dishes you will see at the other. Puerto Rican style Spanish food is what they are serving with lots of flavor and at a crazy CHEAP price! My favorites are the roast pork, roasted chicken, and stewed ribs. They also have great sides like the mofongo (mashed plantains) with extra fried red onions, arroz con gandules (yellow rice with black eyed peas) and empanadillas (turnovers with various stuffings). Most meals are about $7 with a HUGE portion and a FREE bottle of water - what a deal! This location also boasts an assortment of desserts which I haven't seen at the other Provocon stations which is nice. Another bonus is that it is spacious inside (although it doesn't appear to be from the outside), and has a few tables and a bar area to sit down and eat. The only downside I see to this place is that the parking lot is TIGHT and mostly full because there are other businesses here AND the service is SO SLOW. I went twice when there were any people there and both times it took an eternity to get my order prepared. Thankfully you can avoid all this by getting uber eats or calling in ahead of time. read more

The food is really good here. I've tried the steak and the roast chicken. I always order yellow rice and green fried plantains. Sometimes pizza or burgers just do not cut it and you need something familiar. If you want to catch the lunch special be prepared for a long line. read more

Delicious! The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because they didn't have a big selection when I went. I went early evening on a Saturday night and there was only a few options to chose from. But with that being said- my meal was absolutely amazing! You can't beat the prices for the potions you get. The staff has the worst attitude. Don't work there if you don't want to be there. I get to the front with my man & he is ordering because I don't speak Spanish. Get to the cashier and they definitely up charged the price because the first time I went it was $11 the second time $14 but this time they said $18 and ASKED for a tip. That part blew my mind.
