I previously left a VERY ACCURATE REVIEW about these atrocious hairballs 11 months ago. These hairballs are in my nightmares. The scalp pieces connected on the hairballs are yellow and make you GAG. I was doing my peaceful breastroke swimming and holding my mouth shut. Hoping I wouldn't CHOKE and/or SWALLOW a VIOLATION OF SAFETY CODE PIECE OF SCALP. It was like having a hairball with the side of pool. FILTER OUT THE HAIR. And parents, if your kid is taking lessons here, PLEASE BE AWARE and make wear a SWIM CAP. PLEASEEEE!!!

Great facility!…read more Chandler is the other side of the Valley from me, but since this year's Tri For The Cure took place at Arrowhead Pool and Park, I was able to check it out today for the event. I loved that it was so easy to get to (just over a mile off of the 101 from the Chandler Blvd exit)... The pool has 8 lanes that are 50 meters in length plus the deep end/diving area (seen in the photo). The facility has plenty of restrooms, changing rooms, etc... and it's located right in the middle of the beautiful Arrowhead Park - it was a fantastic venue for the Triathlon. Despite the event running an hour and a half behind schedule, it was a ton of fun and ran smoothly once we started. We enjoyed watching the youth event - it's amazing how many kids participated! They were so cute! I recommend both the event as well as this facility depending on your goals and where in the Valley you live. Thanks to the City of Chandler for hosting this amazing event, and for all of the volunteers that helped out along the way! Congrats to all of those that competed today as well!

So far, this is my favorite pool to date. Its a bit out of the way for me, but worth the drive…read more Here's why. For starters, the only downside is that its buried deep in a subdivision. I never knew it was there until I did a search on yelp & the internet for swimming pools. Secondly, this place is HUGE and NOT crowded! Two entirely seperate swimming areas! One for the kids, with zero level entry, a water slide and a lazy river. The "adult" side of the pool is entirely seperate, and Olympic sized! Holy Moly! Diving boards, swimming lanes, a basketball hoop and TONS of room to move around in. This place, for once, has ample seating! Tons of chairs! Never a problem to find a place to lay out here! Covered seating is also available as well. Locker rooms are large and plentiful, with lots of toilets, showers, changing areas and lockers for 25 cents. I will go out of my way to swim here. $2.25 for adults, and kids are much less. Go check this place out!

I recently came here to try out a hot yoga class. The first…read moreclass is free which is always great. They offer a few other programs and services here including jiu jitsu. The parking lot is huge, and there was someone at the front lobby desk to help us sign in and complete our waivers. The hot yoga class was great! Genesis taught that evening, and did a great job at walking us through all of poses and breathing exercises. The class did get up to 100 degrees (F) and there were humidifiers throughout the room, so it was steamy! Definitely bring towels and lighter clothing. Since this is not exclusively a yoga studio, you could hear outside the studio walls, which was a tiny bit distracting during savasana, but during class it wasn't noticeable since there was music playing. Definitely check this place out if you live nearby, or want to try out a hot yoga class!

As a proud dad watching my entire family train at South Mountain Movement & Wellness, I can't say…read moreenough good things about this place. The instructors are phenomenal with both kids and adults, striking that perfect balance between pushing everyone to improve and keeping it fun. My kids have absolutely blossomed here - their confidence has skyrocketed, and it's amazing to see them learning real self-defense skills while having a blast with their training partners. Even my daughter, who used to be so shy about wrestling, now eagerly demonstrates moves at home (usually attempting to armbar me throughout the day). What really sets this place apart is how they've created such a strong family atmosphere. My wife and I get to train in the adult classes, and we really enjoy the community here. Lots of the adults have children who also train in the community, and its wonderful seeing the entire family on the mats! The other parents and students have become great friends, and we often send each other jujitsu memes on Instagram. The facility is always clean, the schedule is flexible enough to accommodate our crazy family logistics, and they genuinely care about every student's progress. I honestly don't know how Coach Sarah and Coach Danny remember all the kids names. Sarah and Nigel have created something really special here, and signing up was one of the best decisions we've made for our family, both for our physical fitness and our sense of community. I hope as the community grows we can add more no-gi classes and continue fostering our wonderful culture. 5/5

They were amazing instructors. I no longer worry about Brad when swimming. He learned so much. Seeing the progress Brad made in a little time, made me want to sign up too. I didn't make it to the pool area but did wander in the community garden which was really nice. There's a monarch station that was attracting lots of butterflies and hummingbirds, fruit trees, raised garden beds, a mud play area, and some shaded seating. An events listing showed a schedule of community activities coming up. The parking on the McKemy side was a little strange -- they left the actual parking spots as dirt and a number of them are already turning into a bit of an off-roading situation. I think this was put in within the last 2 years. Overall a nice little community park! Not necessarily a destination from across the valley, but a good spot for taking kids to play.
