Good, Mexican food. Friendly, attentive service and we all enjoyed our meals - fajitas, flautas, and nacho appetizer. Chips and salsa were good. I like mild salsa so this was on the spicy side for me but the cheese/queso was good and balanced that out. Would definitely go again if I am in the area. This place used to have the best service and food. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but they are slowly going down hill on service. Unfriendly, they leave you sitting there for 20 minutes without any drinks, serving other tables right in front of you. I also paid 100 dollars for catering (2 street taco boxes) 16 comes in the box along with rice and beans.. first of all it's ridiculous for how much they are charging just to mess my order up! They gave me 4 BIG bowls of beans and only 2 scoops of rice in the same bowl as one of the beans!! I had to go back and say I needed more rice just for them to bring out a small rice bowl with 2 scoops again. How am I supposed to serve a whole Mother's Day dinner with 3 scoops of rice?! Ridiculous! I will not be catering from them again, and taking a break from this place. I really hope it was just a busy end the month and holiday. read more

Ground beef is bland Taco Bell has more flavor I think if they would put just a little effort in their ground beef it would be great. Would love to see Mexican corn on menu. read more

My second favorite Mexican food restaurant when eating at home. I could drink the salsa; it's that good. The soup, shrimp cocktail, tacos, margaritas, taco loco special.....some of my most favorites! My only disappointment in this restaurant; Covid shut down the lunchtime buffet and they never brought it back. Maybe someday! read more

I would consider this the 2nd best Mexican restaurant in Ponca City behind Enrique's. First of all, it's so affordable! Most of the lunch specials are 7 dollars. You can't beat that. The salsa is delicious with plenty of cilantro, and tastes very fresh. I always get a Chile Relleno when I'm here, they are pretty great. The tacos are good too, and I love the queso they top things with. It's a good place to go for lunch because you don't have to wait a long time for your food. My family (13 of us), recently made a reservation for a Saturday evening at 6:15. (Great planning). When we arrived, we were allowed to eat on the patio. The windows were closed and the ac turned on high making it very comfortable in a few minutes. We , of course, had 13 separate tickets. The drinks were quickly brought to the table with no errors. The meal was on the table WITH NO ERRORS in a reasonable amount of time. The staff were very attentive to our needs and, of course, the food was outstanding. A+ customer service!!!!!!!!! I've been going here since I was a kid, the service has always been great. They've expanded a lot in the last several years, hired more staff, and have managed to improve on their already expedient and well managed restaurant. I still come here regularly and primarily recommend it before the other two Mexican restaurants in ponca city read more

This is the best molcajete I've ever had.. just has really really good flavor.. staff is really nice and friendly and on top of everything.. gets pretty busy around dinner time.. there's also a lot of trucker parking probably about 15 spots about 10 miles east off of the 35.. read more

I had the 'Chory Chicken', which was great. One of the members of my group got the Chicken Tortilla Soup, and THAT looked amazing. If I'm ever in Ponca City again, and I hope to be, I will get that soup. The service was friendly and fairly quick. I visited in June, 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, and the servers DID have masks. I'm not sure what I expected from a Mexican restaurant in Oklahoma, but El Potrillo definitely exceeded expectations! read more

In comparing this to other Mexican Restaurants. The food is okay but too salty for my personal taste. The portions were okay. The wait staff was authentic & spoke limited English. I am physically challenged and the restaurant is not really compatible to walkers or wheelchairs. The parking lot has a handicap parking spot but the ramp is not level nor wheelchair/walker accessible. I voiced my complaints to manager who was rude and very condescending.
