The Waitress spent too much time chit chatting with various customers and never filled drinks at our table or the one next to us. This is just my opinion, but the food wasn't quite what I expected. The sauce for the chips had too much garlic salt, the supreme nachos lacked flavor, and my wife felt the same about the gorditas. The horchata also had an off taste, almost like dish soap. That said, the prices were fair, and perhaps other menu items might be better. read more

The food was fantastic, with a superb selection on the menu. The puffy chips were something I did not expect, but I devoured them. Service was attentive but not over intrusive. The airport view provides a unique experience. Wait was so long. Empty tables and no one bussing the dirty ones. No one was seated for over 30 minutes. Unacceptable.

Flew into Ponca and had a fabulous lunch! This place has awesome chips and the salsa is so flavorful! I had the beef enchilada with the chile sauce which is close to the carne sauce in Texas with more chili. Kiddo had shrimp fajitas and ate every bite! Desserts were fresh and worth the trip alone! What's a weird location.... Somebody anybody could have said it's by the airport because it's difficult to see from street! I arrived at 3:30pm and it was closed, reopens at 4:30pm. I spoke with waitress well I tried but she didn't speak English. I looked at a menu and thought just for a second I'll wait. Nope I'm too hungry and too tired. So I moved on. I wish I could give it zero stars. Epic fail tonight! A group of 5 of us waited over 45 minutes while a group of seven showed up and was seated immediately. When we asked, we were told they called in 15 minutes ago ... mind you, by this time we had been there 30 minutes. I don't understand how someone who calls ahead for 15 minutes pre-empts someone who was waiting for 30 minutes. Then, a group of 12 came in, refused to set at the waiting area and was seated within minutes of their arrival. We had been there 45 minutes at this point. When I asked about that, she said they had called ahead but we know they didn't because it took him 5 minutes to count how many people needed seated. Even if they had, the phone ahead is supposed to be an advance of 15 minutes, remember we had waited 45 by that time. We weren't the only ones either. A group came in after we had been there 30 minutes but before the other groups and they also were not seated properly. . When the manager came, she just argued with me and the gentleman from the other group who had not been seated rather than apologizing or admitting any mistake. She then told the girl seating us that she did nothing wrong! Well within our hearing! The whole experience was terrible and we had been loyal customers, eating about once a week there, but never again! Btw, we had tried to phone a reservation but were told y'all don't take reservations. Calling ahead to get on the list is somehow different from reservations. Doesn't make sense to me. read more

Our recent trip here was a terrible let down. The service was slow and the food was inedible and way overpriced. Starting with the $5 basket of chips we weren't aware we'd be paying for, which were soggy and tough. Then a "burrito " that consisted of lukewarm ground beef in a cold tortilla for $8.75. My spouse ordered a tostada that they forgot the meat on and paid another $5 for beans and rice that weren't worth $1. This is a "Never Again" for us. read more

I am not local to Ponca City, but come occasionally for work and have heard of Enrique's for years but never made it over before they close for lunch at 2 pm. It is definitely worth the trip each and every time I visit! Everything was amazing. Waiter Crystal was phenomenal. read more

This was the one place that everyone I've talked to in Ponca City recommends. I wasn't disappointed, but I wasn't blown away. The bad: The chips that everyone raves about were... really limp. Puffy sure, but not crisp at all, not great. Maybe I just got an undercooked batch. The queso kinda just tasted like melted velveeta... The good: The fajitas were quite good, the beans and tamale were excellent. Nice little place with friendly and fast service. Today I got my food to go for the first time. I'd probably recommend dine in if you order their chips! Their chips are like a corn tortilla deep fried. Airy,light, crispy chips and super good! Since they are crispy and deep fried it's a better while done in so they don't get soft. But still tasted so so good. Their salsa and yellow Queso are freaking delicious! I didn't order the guacamole today but that was super good as well. I ordered a small queso so and it was like $2.50 and I don't think it was worth it for the size but it was so good. Anyways after my little chips and queso. I ordered the chicken fajitas. My sides were Spanish rice and I think black beans. Honestly you can't really go wrong with fajita. There wasn't as much flavor as I've had at other places but again, I'm kind of blaming it on it being a to go order vs. dine in. Side note: you have to pay for chips and salsa, $3.00 per order. Made fresh and worth it! Another side note: I got 5 salsas with my order of chips for $3.00 and only 1 Queso for $2.50 but they were the same size container. I want to give it more. The food based on Enrique and Erma's original recipes is hard to beat. That is if it was cooked to the same standards that both out into the restaurant. The kids have not kept it to the same high standards and it shows. The quality has been on a steady decline. Once it will decent, the next time it will be pretty poor. My family had been going here for years, but after the 3rd time of getting sick we've decided it isn't worth it. We may give it another try in the future but we will be hesitant for sure. It's sad as this had been one of the better eating places in Ponca $hitty. Mediocrity seems to be the rule of thumb now. I am sure Enrique would be sad at the state of it. read more

This my third time to eat here and it was NOT a charm! I ordered the pork lunch special which came with a bowl of soup. I also ordered a half order of chips. I was waiting for the soup and the chips to come out, but then I saw the server coming and she had everything. I would've rather had my chips and soup first. The food was cold. The pork tasted nasty. No seasoning in the beans. The cook must've had a bad day. Then I saw where the restaurant closes at 2 PM and thought now I understand. I think they wanted to get out of here. This is the best Mexican food I've ever had anywhere. Every single thing I have ever tried here has been an absolute home run. The chips get you in the door. They do that because they're the best chips anywhere. Guacamole? Fantastic. Queso? Perfect balance. Salsa? Made fresh and it's awesome. Service? Always great and I've had several servers over the years. I'm not writing this review from one visit. It's probably my 6th or 7th time here, and each time seems better than the first. My server last time convinced me to try the catfish entree. It's the best catfish I've ever had anywhere! Perfectly seasoned. Perfectly crispy on the outside, yet not over cooked. I reordered it again tonight. THE VALUE IS INCREDIBLE ALSO!!! Look. If you find yourself anywhere near the airport in Ponca City, OK, you really need to do yourself and your friends a favor and check this place out. I am from Texas, so my opinion of Mexican food is deep rooted in tradition. Growing up I ate Mexican more than any other. Since I moved to Oklahoma I have been disappointed in the Mexican food. Still our absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. The chips are my kryptonite. We love getting to watch the planes fly in and out and have even been lucky enough to catch a few Blackhawk helicopters stopping in for lunch with military personnel. This is a true Ponca City staple. read more
