It ended up being the perfect spot. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and I absolutely loved the coffee mugs--they were so cute that I would've bought one if they had been for sale! We kept breakfast simple with eggs, bacon, potatoes, and grits. We had actually meant to order the lobster grits, but somehow ended up with the regular grits instead. No complaints, though--they were really good, and as a Southern girl, I know not everyone gets grits right. The service was friendly, the food was delicious, and we'd definitely come back the next time we're in Destin.

They were very packed here with customers elbow to elbow at every table the entire time we both waited and dined. So, it wasn't the most relaxing atmosphere but that could probably be fixed by going on a weekday or just earlier in the day when others are sleeping in. There were so many yummy food options here. I'm a savory breakfast/brunch girly, but with it being called The Pancakery I did want to give the pancakes a try. I liked that most options came with a side of pancakes so that was perfect for me to get both my sweet and savory fix. I chose the gulf shrimp omelette with a side of pancakes. I actually enjoyed the pancakes more! We were given warm syrup to go along with it. The omeletet was decent, just not too flavorful or memorable. The highlight of our visit was our sweet waitress. Im blanking on her name at the moment, but remember her mentioning she was from Nepal. She gave us each a pretty pink pen to keep. There was also a promotion where if you posted your pancakes on Instagram you got a free reusable bag. I loved the bag and it will always remind me of our visit!
