Not every El Pollo Loco is the same. This one stands out as one of the best I've been to. It's always busy, and the chicken is always fresh. I've never been inside, but I oftentimes find myself in the drive thru on nights I don't feel like cooking. On many evenings, there is quite a line, so it's fairly popular and busy. Even when ordering large amounts of chicken (i.e. more than 20 pieces -- hey, they have the whole "double your chicken for $5 deal going on!), I don't have to wait all that long. I ordered my usual twice-grilled chicken burrito, and it was possibly the best chicken, sour cream and guacamole I have ever eaten. Sadly, the frier was on the fritz, so there were no chips to accompany my delicious burrito. Not only were there no chips, but there were also no churros. Epic sadness ensued. We would have given the restaurant 5 stars, but with the lack of churros, we were forced to bump them down one. But despite the lack of churros and chips, this El Pollo Loco was by far one of the most pleasant eating locations we have ever visited. Then I went another time and waited in the drive so long, that I was able to backup and leave. I would say go to the El Polo Loco in Bellflower for faster service, just avoid their drive thru in Bellflower, because it is slow too. I buy food from this place at least once a week. My 2 year old LOVES POLLO LOCO! So much, we ordered catering from them for her birthday party in June. The bad thing about this place is 1. Their drive thru sucks. I had literally timed how long it takes, and it averages 15-25 min. Ain't nobody got time for that! It's supposed to be fast food! And when I order the pollo bowl that's part of the $5 deal I have to make sure they do not put onions and pico de gallo in it. My kid doesn't like it. It's happened three times where even though I said no onion or pico, I get home, and there's onion and pico. I had used their app to give my comments and it asks if I want someone to reach out, I say yes, and nothing happens. I hope all this changes soon. read more

My husband loves the chicken only if it's cooked right and not dry which seems to be the case many times and at different locations. But, the issue with the salsa bar needs to be addressed! Make a rule how often the bar should be cleaned and restocked across the board. The one thing I can say is the staff is very nice at this location!! This pollo loco doesn't have the best customer service. First, you can't understand what they're saying when you order in the drive thru. Second, they get your orders wrong. Third, they forget to give you your drinks. Fourth, they take a long time to actually give you your order. I suggest you look for another pollo loco even if the drive is farther. read more

I really wanted to like this place since its a block away from my house and the employees are really friendly but just the fact that they forget minor things is annoying. They overfill my drink all the time which ends up spilling in my car(usually a small no big deal spill) but this last time it kept spilling all over the inside of my car, myself and on my phone. I'm not from this area, but years ago we discovered this location, and we were driving about 5 miles from our home to get our chicken, just because it was made perfect, and this last time about 20 days ago, the chicken was like rubber, the salsas had a really bad taste, like they had gone bad, maybe the salsas were not fresh. The manager should check the freshness and quality of the food, otherwise one of these days they'll have people getting sick with food poisoning. We are not coming back to el pollo loco. read more

This was my first and last time ordering food for "delivery" from this place. I thought I would it and see what all the hype is about getting your food delivered. So we have this joke about their new chicken "carnitas" like how can it be carnitas when there's no pork, it's chicken?? Well, I decided to give it a whirl so I tried a chicken carnitas taco............ HOLY SHIT! It was really good, surprisingly good. I thought it was going to be dry as hell, but it was really juicy and had great flavor, it wasn't too salty or too sour from the lemon. I only ordered 1 taco and I totally regretted not getting more, I've been telling all my friends to try it, so of course I had to yelp about it. Go and try it before they take it off the menu, it's probably a limited time only. Of course their chicken is terrific, I love the skin it is literally the best part, that's where all the flavor is baby. I would eat at El Pollo Loco any day over that KFC crap. read more

After having some really bad customer service experiences in Vegas, it was especially nice to have such great service from the drive through people here! It's hit or miss on the wait time for all Pollo Loco's I've been to. But last Friday, my order was ready as soon as I paid for it. The girl noticed I had flowers and a balloon on my seat and asked what they were for. I told her it was my 50th birthday weekend. She immediately beamed a genuine smile at me, wished me a happy birthday and then convincingly lied to me and told me I looked much younger. Bless your heart, little Drive-Thru Cutie!!! I wish I could give zero stars. I ordered the kids meal, with flour tortillas and salsa. At $5.99 fora kids meal I expected everything I asked for. Nope. Dry chicken, no tortillas and no salsa. I liked this pollo loco but recently its been bad. They've gotten my order wrong twice. The first time they had run out of mac and cheese and had put mashed potatoes instead without letting me know. And the second time pretty much they same thing but substituted the mac and cheese for rice. And drive thru takes forever. I was craving pollo loco, and saw this location. Everything was fine until I saw someone throwing a napking across the island and it landed on another customer's order. And to top it off the girl saw me that i was looking at her and took off the napkin and continued to make the order. After completing the order she took it to a room.
