I Had my son go and buy 12 pc family meal, and was charged extra to substitute wings, I been to this location numerous times , I live close by and I called other Locations and confirmed as long as it was on regular menu they substitute without charge, well Talking to Rosie the manager at that location, she basically said they wrong and she's right, so I told her I'll just reach out to corporate, and she basically screamed on phone she didn't care, I don't know her or ever met her, but she does not have people's skills, or customer service for that...I've reached out to family friends just to let them know, I know not the locations fault but she's managing it so it is what it is. He even asked for 10 plates even like that he got two and no napkins etc. read more

El Pollo Loco - Receipt charging extra for substitution as per Rosie - Mexican Near Me - Mcallen, Texas

Went to this El Pollo Loco to get some food for dinner, it took 20+ minutes to get our food, but overall the food was amazing.

Servings are usually smaller for lunch, but the price doesn't change if you order later for dinner... Mmmm. The Black Bean Bowl is yummy and filling. The Red Sauce is nice and spicy!!! The Nolana location is always super busy around lunch time, so if you don't like waiting go early or a little later for lunch. On the back of your receipt is an eight minute survey for $1.00 off your next order. I find this a quick easy way to save a buck! I know that I'll be going back so why not. read more

El Pollo Loco - Outside looking in... - Mexican Near Me - Mcallen, Texas

02/26/24. Ordered a classic tostada. The Salas was an inch deep, could still see an inch of the tostada rim. Salad did not have cheese. Told the cashier and went to sit down. The cheese not delivered. I got up and told them since they did not put cheese, they could at least deliver to my table. I got like 2 teaspoons of cheese in a souffle cup. Other pollo loco in Edinburg tx, my wife takes half her salad home because she can't finish it. This is a terrible pollo loco. read more

This is the worst El Pollo we have ever eaten at. We thought El Pollo loco would be a safe bet. We were wrong. We ordered a chicken avocado taco and chicken burrito. It took 15 minutes to prepare our meal. The tortilla for taco was flour and stale tasting. It was not corn. Chicken was dry/overcooked. I got 2 & a half bites of chicken in my taco and husband got mostly condiments in his burrito. The sauces did not taste fresh. We paid $15.58 and with water without soft drink. Manager was busy preparing food. He wasn't interested in a moment of feedback. read more

I was expecting something like pollo loco in mexico, but in this place, a whole chicken seams a cornish chicken, is too small, extra dry, seams as reheating or cooking and refrigerated food. sides are ok. place is clean, customer service is just ok. read more

Great tasting food and very good service. Christmas music as back ground, adds to the feeling of the holidays.

Dry old burnt chicken every time...worst pollo loco in the galaxy

This place is not what it used to be, sadly the chicken is not good anymore. It is dry and it seems like if they cooked it earlier in the day and they reheated it before serving it. Their famous house salsa is not good anymore either, is like they don't add any salt at all... so sad, it used to be ine if my favorites and for the past few times it has been a very bad experience. read more

Pretty good! 4 stars because the tables weren't clean. But overall great food! My wife and I used a coupon and spent $10 for a combo for 2 people. It was very delicious and filling. Also, healthiest fast food I know. The place is clean and food IS fast! read more

Saturday we ordered the Birra tacos and got charro beans instead of the red dipping sauce that should come with the order. Hubby was so disappointed. read more

Just waited 30 min for a burrito. I'm not over exaggerating. It's been 30 min, still no burrito.

As you can see, the receipt says no avocado; but clearly there's avocado on my quesadilla. In addition, I requested two small sides of rice. Didn't receive those. Wasn't charged...so whatever. Once home, we discovered the other orders were room temperature at best. I've eaten st other locations and had a good experience. Will not return to this location or recommend it. read more

Not everybody eats spicy !!! My mom loves their shrimp tacos, at 94, it's a blessing but know that you made them only spicy THAT just sucks!!! Won't be coming back... OMG the 3 mini shrimp seriously pathetic read more

The food is good, but the customer services is severely lacking. I've been here many times but I'd say more than half the times they get the order wrong. If you order a burrito, you'll get a random one, not what you ordered. Beans are given with lids loosely placed on multiple times for me, just pooring out into the bag. I've never gone through the drive thru without being told to wait upfront even when just order chicken. read more

Me and my fiancé were trying to find a good place to eat that would be kind of healthy to a certain point. When she mention this location I have to say it didn't really scream healthy to me but once I was able to take a look at their menu my opinion changed. They have a under 500 calories menu that is pretty good and has some good options. I had the 2 piece combo and the chicken was great! The chicken was very well cooked and great taste. I always hate when I go somewhere and the chicken is not well cooked or kid or red/bloody close to the bone. This was not the case at this location and I recommend it to anyone wanting to try something different. read more

Very fast for the juice and flavor in the chicken. Definitely planning going on there, but the rice beans and tortillas were a little bland, especially the flour tortillas. The salsa bar is amazing and you can tell The store is cleaned regularly. 4.5 stars read more

I agree with other negative reviews. The chicken breast is dry, very skimpy portions for the price (especially when compared to other nearby roasted chicken restaurants), and beware of anything that says "fajita STYLE" because there are no actual fajitas on these salads despite the pictures suggesting otherwise. The employees are nice enough to point this out. They do have some decent tasting healthy, low calorie options, like the avocado wrap, so perhaps I will return for these. read more

We really liked it here. The place was very clean including restrooms. The chicken was great with the two sides and then choice of chips or tortilla. Avocado salsa was soooo good. Other salsa were great too. Very quick. We will go back soon! read more

This is one of my favorite places for lunch however I don't know what went wrong. Your customer service has gone down drastically and your staff needs help paying attention to customers while taking our order. It never fails our order is incorrect and when I approach a tall Hispanic woman she is totally unfriendly. Today for example I ordered the side salad and I got beans when I picked up my order at the counter and let her know she tossed half of the beans off and handed me the salad. No apologies no nothing. I love your food but will no longer eat there. This has been going on for the past couple of months. I visit your place at least four times a month. I hope you make some changes soon. read more

Chicken breast and wing combo was good but the meet was a bit dry, wish it would have been moist and more flavorful. The sides were good. I had mash potatoes and black beans. The green salsa they put on my to go order was also good. I had not been to this restaurant in a long time since I had been disappointed but this was an improvement. read more

It's clean. The staff is nice but the rice is flavorless, the "charro beans" arent charro beans they're a poor attempt at that. The tortillas are packaged so ewww they taste like preservatives. The chicken thighs are small, flat and burnt. So yeah this is gonna be a no no for me next time. Good location though, but having tasted pollo loco in many locations in Mexico and then coming here is a total let down of what I was expecting. NEVER AGAIN. read more

The staff are rude and don't have any respect for there client's a staff member shut the door on uf while we were talking to them and just left . Also some stuff that they had on the menu they didn't have in stock . Like why advertise it when they don't have it . But if you Alcantar decent food for a high price and rude staff that's the place. read more

The chicken breast was dried up and not edible. It's pretty dirty and crowded inside. They do not sanitize the tables. An 8 piece family meal is mostly very small pieces. Would not recommend. Next time I'll go to KFC. read more

Warning!! Be careful about this location. I ordered the shrimp tacos tonight, and half way through my meal I noticed the shrimps been VERY chewy. I opened the taco to learn that the shrimp was RAW!!! Ewww, I hope I don't get sick. read more

So we where there because I thought it was good but no it's not the chicken is dry and all greasy there's probably flies that get in too off them it was overall a really bad experience read more

This is the first time I ate inside this restaurant because I always go through drive thru. The food was great but the floor was very dirty and so were some of the tables. What a shame! I never saw anyone come to front to clean up! read more

Upon arrival there was no one to greet us or no cashier. After a couple of minutes standing a cashier finally shows up, again no greeting. We order two combos and the order is messed up, ordered a salad as side I get beans. Take back tray and lady dumps beans back into serving bucket and gives me plate back with my salad, no apology nothing. Food was yucky, guacamole was dark, won't be coming back. Best u go next door to the KFC. Too bad. read more

Went to location on Nolana in McAllen. About 9:30 pm. I realize they close at 10 but they hardly had any chicken. I ordered a half chicken plate and a tostada. For sides I would have ordered macaroni and cheese but they had none. So I ordered mashed potatoes and black beans. Then find out they have no rice for the tostada. And later they said they had no black beans. The Manager came up and completed our order. This is NOT somewhere I would go if close to closing time cuz they start cleaning up at 9:30 pm or earlier and they run out of stuff. read more

where should I start? the Chicken/Cheese enchiladas were supposed to be cheese only and the chicken on the side? I saw the Asst Manager tell them this before it was started! yet I get home (mind you its 7 miles each way) and what do I find? you guessed it! CHICKEN on my cheese enchiladas!! & No Classic chicken taco! I had to drive all the way back to the restaurant to have it re-made! and get the taco! which they did no problems, but now I found I should have checked the loco salad too! when I went to eat that it was DISGUSTING! slimy old gross lettuce that was way past its usable service time, I TOSSED that in the proper place! I refuse to get sick on a rotten old salad, this location is one thing for sure! They consistently suck when it comes to preparing food & how the make it or don't make it and the place is usually dirty or the salsa bar is not clean and full!. this is why I don't normally go to this location because this is always the same outcome! after this you can bet I will be sure to take my kids advice and drive to the one in Edinburg its 15 miles away but I HAVE never been disappointed there! and its sad frankly they are so nice you can see they want to please you, but they just fail to keep it quality and small details don't work for them!! However the one thing that I will give them HIGH marks on for the first time EVER they had a CLEAN FULL SALSA BAR & all the areas were spotless!! but that is just not enough to make me say hot damn, NO BUENO, NO GRACIAS. read more

We stopped for something fast, have never been here before (don't have them at home) and we were surprised at how good fast food could be. Would recommend it read more

We loved it! I had a chicken/avocado burrito combo,my husband had whole chicken. We were served promptly and courteously. Food tasted great, was served hot and timely. Chicken was super moist and well seasoned,, much better than their competitors. Store was VERY clean inside and out, as were the bathrooms. So happy we tried El Pollo Loco.We will go back to eating excellent Mexican food in a clean restaurant again! Did I mention we loved it? read more
