I went here to get something to eat before I started work. I ordered through the drive thru, pulled up to the window, and was then informed they were out of some of the ingredients to make my order. I asked for a reasonable replacement, to which they said they were out of also. They did not have a lot of inventory. Eventually, I got a refund and left without any food. I would like to think that you should be informed when placing your order, if things are unavailable. Oh well, I definitely do not feel the need to return to this location. read more

Excellent customer service! Will needs to be rewarded for having stellar customer service skills. That is rare these days. Most places aren't known for outstanding service. My last few reviews of El Pollo Locos have not been well... However, I stopped in at this location while driving from Home to Tucson and started to get a little rumbly in the tumbly. With everything in the area, I don't know why I chose here. From what I recall, it was to give El Polly Loco another chance, especially after the absolute garbage they are in my home town. First impression, IMMACULATE. This one was clean and so nice. This is a big deal to a lot of people, and if your fast food restaurant is clean and maintained you already are leaps ahead of the competition. The young gentleman at the counter was also helpful, attentive, well groomed, and most importantly: appeared to want to be there and do well! Outstanding job! The only downside from the perfect 5 was EVERY taco ordered, the shell was broken. Don't know why, but it was just shy of perfection. I have been wanting to try this place and finally got the chance. For a fast food joint, I say that this one is great! They made my burrito to order and quickly and correctly. It's still fast food so the ambience is as such, however, it was clean, supplies were stocked up, and the staff were super friendly. read more

They put the tortillas on the bottom of the bag so they collected condensation and turned to complete mush on the 5 minute ride home. They cost extra so that was really disappointing. We also weren't provided with any utensils and there weren't any out in the dining area. I mistakenly assumed they put some in the bag only to find out later they had not. The bag of chips barely had any chips in it, the guacamole added to the bowl is such an extremely tiny amount, and the chicken pieces and the chopped chicken in the bowl were insanely dry. My dad loves El Pollo Loco, and he'd always suggest us going out to eat at one. We were around the area while driving to Arizona and luckily there was an El Pollo Loco out there in the middle of nowhere! We arrived around 8PM and ordered a chicken and avocado tostada $9, 10 piece leg & thigh with 2 sides (mashed potatoes and beans) for $20. This $29 meal fed four people! Overall, everything was tasty, the salsa bar was pretty delicious. I was surprised their salsa was actually spicy too! Honestly, I feel that the "great" reviews this place is getting is either people they know or are getting a free food coupon for their next visit! Every single time I try to give this place a chance it's a total mistake! Some of the crew members are so rude, no customer service skills whatsoever. Through the drive thru they make you feel like your a burden and make you feel like you are dealing with a robot .. maybe if they were you'd get a greeting. None the less, the food is always poorly made and packaged. It's sad because we really don't have to much to choose from over here off of Watson and Pollo Loco is the healthier choice. Visiting the area during Thanksgiving 2018. Was excited to see a Pollo Loco as we don't have them in our area. The ladies at the counter were perfectly pleasant and I ordered my meal to go as I was in a hurry. Upon examining my two piece chicken meal with black beans and cole slaw, I regretted walking in the door. The chicken, as you can see by my picture, was dry, shriveled and disgusting. Come on guys - give me a break. You don't know when to throw out chicken that's been sitting there too long? You can't tell the difference between a plump, moist piece and one that is shriveled and dry? I had my meal to go and didn't have time to go back. What a fail. We picked up an 8 piece chicken meal. The chicken was absolutely the worst chicken we have ever had. The pieces were dried up and shriveled leaving no meat on the bone. The chicken must have been cooked days ago and left in the heater where it dried up to nothing. We were able to get a couple bites of meat off the chicken breasts but the meat was so dry you had to cover it with gravy in order to swallow it. The positives: - genuinely nice people at the register - food didn't take long - the tortilla chips were seriously impressive - place smelled wonderful because of the roasting chicken The negatives: - overall impression of the food was of mediocrity. I had the chicken avocado salad. The chicken was really dry. I understand that they'd use leftovers for salads like this, but this chicken had definitely been kept on the warmer too long. The amount of chicken was good, though. The greens were primarily iceberg lettuce and therefore tasteless. The provided dressing was surprisingly good, but it can only do so much to dress up cheap, bland iceberg lettuce. - filthy restaurant. It was half empty and all of the empty tables were dirty. I grabbed some napkins to clean up the least-dirty window seat so we had a place to sit. So... this visit really affirmed why I haven't visited El Pollo Loco in years and why I won't return unless it's a last resort. read more

It seems every time I come to this location, I always have problems. I usually don't send reviews but with so many times I've had problems with this restaurant, it's time to warn people. I ordered 12 pieces chicken and asked the young lady who took my order if I could have eight pieces of thighs and 4 legs. Which is a request that is usually granted in all of the a Pollo loco as I've gone to. Just as I thought, she acknowledged my request. I asked her three times if she got it right, eight pieces of thighs, and four legs at the drive-thru, she acknowledge that she did. I proceeded to pay and met her face-to-face and asked her once again if she had the right order, and she assured me she did. When I got home, it was the other way around. I don't know if they did that to spite their customers or that young lady just didn't understand what I said, despite telling her three times. This is just a few of the problems i encounter with this Watson in Buckeye location. Most of the Pollo Loco I frequent are always busy, not this one. I can see why it's always empty. read more

On 9/21/21 I ordered a Family Dinner for $20 with coupon and a free loaded nachos with $10.99 purchase. There was a handwritten notice El Pollo Locos cilantro salad dressing had been recalled. I get to the window and am told I can't get the free nachos because I'm using a coupon for my purchase!?! OK. Fine. I got friends coming and I'm not going to waste time arguing. I ordered a loco salad with ranch, corn, and mashed potatoes sides and corn tortillas for the family dinner and told him it was for 4 people. I was told to pull into the parking lot and they would bring it to me, as it was a large order. It was 40 minutes until I got my order, so I rushed out of there. I did not get any tortillas, no salad dressing, and the salad was a single serve size. The whole "meal" was barely a snack for 4. Every time I have gone to this store there has been as issue. They don't have what the coupon is for or you can't use that coupon unless you purchase this, etc. Added to that the portions are getting smaller and the prices higher. So then I take their phone survey and at the end when they ask me if I'll answer a few more questions, I say no. I'm waiting for $1 off code and instead they begin a bunch of very personal questions: age, sex, race, etc. What does that have to do with my purchase? The food is still good so I gave them a star. Now I don't want to drive 20-30 min to El Pollo Loco to get the scanner slammed down and a sassy attitude because it's not working, demanding for your coworker to come fix it, which is why I'm willing to give a 2nd star because he at least had a good attitude about it. Then when it scanned, you disappeared and refused to even ask me if there were any additional salsas that I would like. ALL OF MY CHILDREN EAT THE SALSA I ASKED FOR... you not only sassed me saying there was already some in the bag, but you didn't even the house salsa that you more than likely didn't even hear that I asked for because you walked away so fast. At this rate, I was so angry with you that I left. I left with a nasty taste in my mouth that somehow didn't force me to turn around and tell you how I truly felt about your attitude. You truly have no idea what it's like to feel completely awful, resort to fast food for dinner and have someone completely put an additional weight on your shoulders. I ordered catering for pick up at 12:30. My husband arrived to pickup at 12:32 and was told that food would be ready within 15 minutes. FOOD was not READY 45 Minutes later!!!!! Trying to not be outside during the quarantine too long! End up being outside waiting for 45 minutes!!!! I would have cancelled it but my husband is a nice and patient so he waited.
