We were greeted promptly as we walked in. It has open seating. Though we were passing through the place was busy with locals coming in with small parties and large parties. We were served salsa and bean dip with chips as we looked over the large menu selection. Our server was attentive and brought us our water while we read over the many options. The portions are huge and the food was good. One table over the gentleman order a dish that required the chef to come out and use a torch to crisp up the top before putting his seafood on top. The food, service, and ambiance at this small town restaurant are all exceptional!! Great Mexican food at good prices. It's clean, neat, and nicely decorated. We have been here twice in the last month. My only regret is that the servings are so big that I haven't been able to try the fried ice cream dessert!! Maybe next time! read more

This restaurant was HIGHLY recommended by some friends. Today a friend & I visited (Saturday) at noon. After enjoying the lava hot delicious salsa, (cleared my sinus right away!) munched away on very fresh chips, along with bean dip that simply disappeared! We had the pleasure of Sebastian (a simply awesome young man, friendly & helpful) giving recommendations & whipping up a mean strawberry margarita! My friend enjoyed her humongous plate of Carne Asada fries, (she needed to bring 2/3 home,) my Carne Asada tacos were very fresh, tender meat, grilled onions & will be ordered again! We had a Chile relleno to go, my husband said it was delicious also. Used ladies room, & was amazed at the cleanliness! I am highly disappointed with the service to say the least. I have dined at El Picosito several times before my most recent dining experience. Prior to my party's arrival, we called to ensure our party of 7 would still be accepted an hour before closing. We were told that if we arrived 30 minutes before closing, our order would be accepted. Upon arrival, we were met with servers who made us feel like an inconvenience. After we had sat down, a waitress came out and informed us that the owner would not be taking our order, as our party was too big and they'd be closing in 45 minutes. If you're unable to serve people 45 minutes before closing, then you should opt for an earlier closing time. It's false advertisement to claim you're open until 9, if you're unwilling to serve people after 8. We will not be returning. read more

The food is always really good. Tastes amazing and great portions. The service can be better by a few of the waitresses there. They'll watch you sit down and stare at you and talk for 10 minutes before asking you your drinks or even greeting you. They have these fans right over the table and they get the food cold really fast at times. Not a bad place at all. I will definitely still be going back but I hope they can fix the issues. read more

Ok. We came here because of the reviews. They were not entirely accurate. To start, the salsa was good but hot. I like hot salsa but just so you know this one burns. The beans that come with the chips are good. I recommend you get a canned soda because the fountain drinks tasted like they were made with moldy water. Now the food. I had a chimichanga and it was mediocre at best. It was full of rice and the ratio was off. Hardly any meat inside and what I did get tasted like vinegar. It was pastor. I've had pastor from a lot of places but it never tasted like this. My wife got a tamale, taco, and sopa, all ala carte. The tamale was reminiscent of the canned tamales you may have had as a kid. The taco was ok but the chicken was completely un seasoned and I marinated. The sopa was chewy and the shredded beef had little flavor. This place might be ok if you were really hungry and didn't care what it tastes like. I know that is a far fetched idea, but I wouldn't come back unless I was starving. read more

If I could put a -star I would absolutely put negative ...I am extremely unsatisfied with what I ordered we usually come to Picosito for family PARTYS and get together but never again customer service is horrible... I called to complain the first person got offended with me complaining about my order she then hung up on me I kept calling a gentlemen answered the phone at no moment did he say please let me fix my mistake no he was more worried about me lying about me having no fish in my tacos and prices are expensive for what it is but this is the only place for food honestly in this town read more
