I tried their regular tacos, quesabirria tacos, and a quesadilla. I arrived around 5:45pm, but they oddly started closing up right after I got my food even though their posted hours said they were open until 7pm. As for the food itself, the meat was disappointingly tough and chewy, like a jerky texture. I'm usually all for a greasy taco, but these were excessively greasy and felt overly heavy after one bite. The quesabirria tortillas didn't even seem like they had been dipped in the consommé, which took away from the flavor and texture I was expecting.

It's prime location is near the freeway ramps and the Port of Oakland. If you drove down West Grand, you might of seen this truck and wondered..... is the food is good? The answer is YES! The Taco Panzon offers a simple, no-frills menu. Along with friendly service, it's great for a quick meal or snack while driving. Recently I ordered two Chicken Tacos Deluxe (spicy). They were served with avocado, crispy veggies, and a whole jalapeno. Only $4 each, for fresh and tasty food. Menu items incl: tacos, torta, nachos, burrito, and quesadilla. All orders are to-go. When I was there I didn't see any tables setup.

Prices were reasonable and in line with other taco trucks and local spots. The food came out fresh and hot, and you can tell they use quality ingredients. I also love the variety on the menu and meat options--everything from asada and pollo to chitlins, barbacoa, and more. The asada was seasoned really well without being overly salty, and the red salsa that came with the tacos was delicious. Flavorful without the overwhelming heat you get at a lot of other places. I'm excited to go back and try more items on their menu--especially the breakfast burritos!

Something about the lettuce (do they still include that?), mayo, and "chicken" is timeless. Timeless, too, was my CHICKEN TORTA $6.50. My flyer menu said it came with sour cream, but I received mayonnaise. I don't know if they were out of ingredients or if I was given an Americanized version. Either way, it tasted straight McDonald's, which you may consider awesome or awful. My verdict is 3 stars, but... MINUS 1 STAR: My flyer and all signage on the truck listed tortas as $5.00. I was charged $6.50 and paid $8.00 after tip. The issue isn't the tip but the $1.50 leap beforehand. Tax isn't 30%. I may have been charged for vegetables and chips which I didn't order but turned up in my bag. The menus made no mention of such add-ons, and I wasn't asked if I wanted any. If they were complimentary, the $1.50 remains unexplained. An undesirable situation either way.

This is a local business that I stumbled upon one night when I was highly craving tacos. I love how they still have seating despite the weather, rain or shine. If you're pulling up to this place, you're in luck -- because they have the best taco meats in all of Oakland. Whether you go for al pastor, carne asada, carnitas, or lengua-- they are all generously seasoned and rich, with that juicy, well-browned texture that makes each bite memorable. From what I've heard, Oakland locals often praise the quality and depth of the meats, and you can tell they're working with ingredients that stand up to the hype. The corn tortillas hold up beautifully too, as they were charred, warm at the edges. It's laid-back street food at its best--tacos that hit hard on flavor and make you want to come back for another round. Honestly, I would be coming here to enjoy with minimal fuss, cash in hand, and a big appetite.
