After I was done , I went back for the popcorn and he didn't do it and his excuse was that they got busy and there wasn't any people in there. I said ok I'm going to sit over there and he still didn't call me for my popcorn, so I went up there and told him is it ready yet and he said oh yeah hold on. This place had like 5 kids working the counter playing around and just on their phones and a simple bag of popcorn was a mission for them. When I got home the damn popcorn was salty as F@#k. Took the kids to Premiere Cinemas at Bassett today for their special Tuesday offer. We watched Trolls Band Together, a super cute movie with lots of references to boy bands. I was hoping for cheap popcorn and hot dogs like last time, but the prices went up to normal. The good thing is that you can serve yourself and get as much as you want. It got a bit chaotic with everyone serving themselves, but we still enjoyed our soda and popcorn. The seats were upgraded and the sound was better too. I'm going to say my recent experience was a 3.5 but I'm rounding up. It's been about two years since I last wrote a review about the theater inside of Bassett Place. This theater may have gone through a few renovations recently. The theater we were inside of had those comfortable, reclining leather seats. I remember the seats were gross the last time we went. They were old, sticky and uncomfortable. The floors were also sticky. Aside from the movie, the seats were the best part of the experience. I don't know if that's good? For me, it is...but... Unfortunately, the place seems to be understaffed. There wasn't anyone in the front when we arrived. You have to purchase tickets where the snacks are sold. The staff wasn't that friendly. The young guy who was helping me seemed annoyed when I told him I wanted to buy some snacks. This staff is probably overworked so I sympathize with them. I didn't see a sign saying they're hiring. The snacks didn't taste that great. The popcorn didn't have that much salt or butter. It was also a little bit stale. Me and my son ate what we could. The chocolate also tasted old. I couldn't finish it. The Sour Patch Kids and soda tasted fine. I didn't feel like dealing with the staff again so I just left it alone. Went to see Oppenheimer on a Friday night (July 21st.) I was pretty excited to see this movie in IMAX since I hadn't been to this theater in over a year. Restrooms were super dirty. Butter machines were dirty as well. Popcorn and trash everywhere. It must be a staffing issue. Weather outside has been in the 100s and it seemed the air conditioning ceased to work at all halfway during the movie. My guests with me complained during the movie as well about the heat. Favorite theater went here all the time as a child they have starbucks and pretty decor. Staff is nice never had complaints but this is just my experience. Haven't gone in awhile cause I move and but it was pretty fun always coming here and going to the stores after the movies. read more

Saturday was the first time in 5 years I had been in a movie theater. I just don't feel the need to visit as we have Max, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. I really wanted to see My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 and this was a good choice of venue. There wasn't a lot of people and I hate crowds, this was a big plus. I was surprised that I was able to pick my seat when purchasing my tickets from the cashier, I really liked that. Making my way to the concession, it was a little ghetto, it looks like construction going on around there. I wasn't happy with the 6.75 large Diet Coke and didn't get the overly salted popcorn, which my friend bought herself. I was even surprised they had bottles of Smirnoff Ice for sale. I'm glad that they let you add your own butter to the popcorn. Fast forward going into the theater, I didn't not know the seats reclined! I sat my happy ass down and was like a little kid moving the buttons up and down until I felt perfectly comfortable! I also liked the little table you can use for your drink, snack, and even phone! Came here twice so far. The theatre is located inside of basset place mall. I like that. Why? Because that means it'll never be crowded. It's a large theatre, with plenty of screens for plenty of movies. Nothing terribly fancy though. Just a standard good old movie theatre. It's not dirty. The staff is friendly. The screens are large. The chairs are comfortable enough. It's not the new fancy kind that recline and have little table and such.. But again, it's just good enough for movie watching.. Which is what I come there to do. I haven't tried it yet, but they do have IMAX and 4D or whatever. That's pretty cool. I bet action movies look great on those screens. I'll have to check it out some time. Pricing. Hmmm, I honestly can't remember what their pricing is. Do they give a military discount?!? Hmmmm, 99% wanna say yes.. But it's not much I don't think. Either way, pricing is movie theatre style pricing... Which is of course, crazy lol. I mean getting in the door ain't bad but if you trying to eat or drink, anything, better take out a small business loan homie. Speaking of snacks though... One of the most comfortable theaters in town! Went to watch Top Gun: Maverick on IMAX and that experience was awesome! Great sound and huge screen. But the best part were the seats! Recliners each with its own tray table that swing across the front of you. So nice to have a place to keep your drink easily accessible and purse. Would have been a 5/5 but their concession lines could use some work. The concession employees are a bit slow and the lines aren't as organized as they could be. Very disappointed, paid top dollar for tickets (3D and D-Box) to watch the sequel to Avatar. Due to technical issues, that they tried to correct - the movie was shown in shades of black, grey and green with a little blue thrown in. Remembering the initial, no way to watch the sequel. The potential for technical issues always exist - but they should have told the audience, giving them an option, offer refund or replacement tickets. No announcement or offer, guess they were just seeing who would complain. In there defense, when I requested refund, no argument. The place is hit and miss on cleanliness. They have couches in the front for people to sit in while they wait for people. The place can get very busy on the weekends and at night. Matinee is cheap. Wish they had reclining seats like some theaters do. They have a bar for people to drink at, though I never see a lot of people in there. I always forget about it until I walk past it. read more

This theater isn't bad, it just isn't nice either. The pricing and discounts are pretty good (maybe the lowest in town with the exception of the dollar theaters). The price on food is expected for a movie theater. I would've given this theater 3 stars because for the most part it is average, but there are a few things that could use improvement. A large number of chairs in the theater are ripped and the bathrooms are never really clean. The popcorn is usually slightly buttered and a little burnt (which is probably why they offer the free popcorn seasonings). Lines, there are always lines for newer movies...even if no one is waiting in the lines or you're the only person to have boughten tickets, you will wait in a line. They do have a few other snacks like hotdogs, dipping dots and nachos. It's all just okay. This theater also had D-box seats, but after I did this once it just didn't seem worth another $20 ticket to do it again. It is worth the price though. Just don't have high expectations. read more

D-BOX are the motion seats, and it's the best way to watch action movies. I also like that they sell reusable drink cups and popcorn tubs that get you discounts throughout the year, plus they offer free unlimited jalapeños for the popcorn, Cinemark started limiting them. The men's restroom is also unexpectedly posh, so you know, if you're the kind of dude who enjoys lounging in a comfy couch while other dudes pee, then this is the place for you. read more

Overall this is a truly average theater and the only times I have come is to try watching a movie on D-Box aka 4D experience of moving chairs, IMAX, or when I get invited to a screening. For my most recent visit I was invited to the screening of King Arthur, which I must say was an amazing movie especially if you are a Guy Ritchie fan. In my opinion I have to say it is one of his masterpieces. I applaud the staff with how organized they handled the screening when it came to having everyone line up, checking their bags, and handling anyone on their phone during the screening. Not every theater does an exceptional job when handling a screening but overall they did very well. My favorite part about this theater over my usual Cinemark is the nachos because they still have the cheese coming from the machine. I can get the cheese put all over my nachos and placed in the little cup on the side. This always ensures that I have maximum cheese, rather than getting the pre-packaged cup of cheese at Cinemark. Let's get down to the theater itself. A big thing for individuals is the cleanliness of the theater and I have noticed from other reviews this is usually a problem with this theater. During this visit everything was clean during my visit, however previous visits were not always the same. I had seen that particular issue in the past, and I am not sure if it has changed, but this time around it looked pretty well kept. I bought a few concessions before the movie began, nachos, popcorn, and a drink. They all came out great however, the amount of time it took to get these concessions was absolutely ridiculous especially when they had five lines working. I remember the time perfectly because after I found a seat I left to the concession stand. I looked at my phone and it was 7:03. I was keeping track of the time because the screening was going to immediately start at 7:30. I left the concession stand at 7:26. I basically waited 20 minutes for concessions and had my mom not really wanted snacks, I most definitely would have left, but it was absolutely ridiculous that these lines were moving so slow. My biggest complaint of the night. Seat wise compared to the other theaters Premiere Cinema sticks with the old fashioned and there is nothing wrong with that. Although when you have theaters that offer reclining seats, reserved seats, seats with tables it is really becoming difficult for the old fashioned theater to compete. Personally I think I have been spoiled too much with the recliner seats, as I found these seats not as comfortable. In the past I have tried D-Box twice. Once for the movie I Am Number Four and Star Wars The Force Awakens. I Am Number Four was one of the first movies they premiered D-Box with and at that time it felt like a huge gimmick that really did not offer anything in return. Now when I went to see Star Wars now that was a good experience. The seats definitely provided a fun experience added to the movie, and personally I also think it depends on the movie. My friend saw Guardian of the Galaxy 2 in D-Box and his family loved every second in those seats. So my advice go for an action packed movie. For some it could be pricey but if you are looking for an extra experience to your movie watching, give it a try. IMAX is also a beautiful theater but compared to other IMAX theaters across the country...well it does not really stack up. Although for here it is an incredible IMAX experience, although it would be nice if you could reserve your seats in advance. You think that after 20 min they would send someone in to theater if something was wrong. Poorly managed theater. Really makes me respect the Marcus theaters in my home town much more. This would never happen. Edited... After 35 min management finally came in and canceled movie. Handled situation very poorly. I asked for a refund for my nachos which I did not touch because I didn't want to walk around mall with them and they would not do it. No place to sit. Expected me to stand with a soda and nachos outside theater and eat them. I tossed them in front of management. I have never experienced such a poorly ran establishment. They did offer me free soda and popcorn. Which I told them would do me any good since I am not from El Paso. Wish I could give zero stars. Wasted my Saturday morning. read more

This theater is really growing on me. I once thought it was dirty and "ghetto" but the more I go, the more I am impressed. Their IMAX theater is nice and they have plenty of show times available. I also thought this theater played the older movies but they play recent ones as well. Not all of them, but the main ones. This theater has a bar that serves beer and wine. The first one in El Paso to do that so far. It's conveniently located in the central area of El Paso, inside of the Basset place mall. I don't have a problem with him but the way he's running the lines, why do you guys discriminate a kid leaving him about 15 minutes waiting in line just to get the other lines on the right. Did it bother you tell him or ya behind him or ask him that the line was closed?? I was waiting behind him with my kids and this got us late for the movie. Absolutely love this theater... They have 100% digital projection which makes it the best picture in town!!! The employees here are the best around. Always polite and go above and beyond to help you save a buck in the concession stand. Speaking of concessions, I'm pretty sure they have the best prices in town! Lower ticket prices than anyone else in town and they have a $4.50 early bird rate before noon.. Awesome way to kill a few hours in the morning!!!! One of the best theaters ive ever went to. Friendly staff and amazing customer service. They even have couches in restrooms where you can wait all comfy. Theaters aint that clean under every seat but at least they clean the chairs and floors we'll be walking and sitting on. The food is amazing! Their popcorn is delicious! Unlimited jalapeños! Free refill on your large drink and popcorn of course! They even have an arcade on the side! And while you wait for your theaters to be cleaned they also have comfy couches on the lobby while u can wait and if u have kids just tell them to go to the arcade. They got beer too. Seems like Tanya wrote this review before the IMAX was open. We go to Bassett's Premier Cinemas quite often and have sat in multiple rooms. This place was nice in 2006 but the general public really hasn't taken care of this place, which is typical of El Paso. This is why we can't have nice things. A movie theater is a movie theater. What sets theaters apart is the food, pricing, how good the popcorn is, and how nice the seating is. As far as those things are concerned, Premier Cinemas fails in all aforementioned areas with exception to ticket prices. read more

They also said it's not there fault it's the theater??? I called and got the managers name when I asked to speak to her someone else got on the phone and said they were the manager. Like many moviehouses today, this fine theatre is contained within the Bassett Place mall, a reviving shopping centre. This is where I had last come a few months to see "Cars vs Bikes", arriving on my Doublevision, of course (definitely a 5-star winner, along with my "Wheel of Approval!"). This time, our children were visiting my better half & I for the holidays, and we chose to view the matinee showing of "Jackie". Stars were lost immediately when I saw the customer line stretching from the ticket booth out into the mall walkway, with non-movie customers constantly cutting through the line. The problem was that of the six booth positions available, no more than half were being operated, causing a real pile up. Go to most any grocery store, should a customer line getting long would be immediately addressed by opening up another register, halving lines. Fortunately, we were not late for the movie, which, unfortunately, was not particularly as well done as it should have been. Specifically, for a historical event that has been this well documented, analyzed & dissected as the assassination of JFK in Dallas, 1963, there was little bona fide historical footage of the killing and aftermath. I was left with the feeling that this was another interpretation by someone who was able to get a camera & script together enough to speculate. Perhaps that sounds a tad cynical, but I'm tired of another lionizing/romanticizing/misinterpretation of the JFK period, especially when considering the current Commander-in-Chief crisis. Of course, the screenings are no reflection upon this worthy theatre, but the debacle of customers protruding into the mall walkway is. I will say that they were quite fast at refilling my large popcorn--even though the long line had transferred to the condiments counter! read more

When we got there we were told we couldn't watch it because no one under 16 even with a guardian could go to the movie after 6 PM. What difference does it make in what time we watch it?
