I had a former student who worked here who'd told me to check it out and finally did despite all of the negative reviews. The ambiance is on point- very colorful and lots to look at. I liked the painted chairs and tables. I thought the service was fine, while not fantastic, it was adequate. We were greeted pretty quickly and our orders made it out at a decent pace. The chips were kind of stale but the salsa was tasty. My michelada was excellent. They used ALOT of Tajin and it came out in a goblet big enough for a fish. Yum. I got the chile rellanos and they were pretty good. Not the best I've ever had but good. My husband got the tequila shrimp fajitas and liked them a lot. We made a bean, rice, and rellano burrito for our shrimp hating 4 year old and he thought it was the best ever.

I can definitely say this is the worst place I have been in my life. I ordered a 7 mares soup and was completely spicy. Unfortunately all the sea food soups were spicy which is sad since I wanted to enjoy a normal sea food. And the service terrible!! Since the moment we arrive until wait 15min for pay the check. They didn't even pick up the plates after finish. La peor experiencia posible en comida mexicana.

What a great restaurant. Huge menu, almost overwhelming. We ordered a couple of the large platters and everything on them was great. Also enjoyed the mariachi band. Our family had a great time here!

You know what.. hell yeah. This place will show you a good time. Once you enter the building it's like you've left the state of Colorado. They have a full bar and the drinks are pretty strong. The food was fine but I was there more for the ambiance. We sat at the bar and enjoyed ourselves for what it was. Don't come here if you're in a hurry but do come if you want to escape reality for a bit. They have karaoke certain nights of the week and they are open pretty late.. I think I'll come back to check it out!!

Quesadilla very good

I liked quesadilla , my husband ate the tacos. Very tasty and it was a lot of fun, they had karaoke on Friday

The service was bad the food was mid. The music was too loud for the workers to even hear you. We ordered a molcajete it was good but they didn't have any spicy sauce, also they forgot the tortillas for about 15 minutes. They don't check on you and the vibes are not there. We went to celebrate a birthday and we told the waitress and she didn't even acknowledge what we said. No dessert bought as we wanted to leave I don't recommend this spot.

If you're looking for authentic Mexican, El Paraiso is your place! It may sound odd, but the seafood options are endless and the shrimp is excellent. Have your ever heard of cheese stuffed shrimp wrapped in bacon? Me neither, but my friend claims it's delicious! We came on a Sunday evening and much to our surprise, and delight, there was a mariachi band playing which consisted of two guitars, a tuba, and endless entertainment! Not up for mariachi? You can ask to get seated on the other side of the restaurant and participate in the entertainment via karaoke! Overall this is a great atmosphere, good food with an endless menu (think Mexican version of Cheesecake Factory), and loads of entertainment. If you're in the area, be sure to give this a try.

¡El mejor servicio! Nuestra mesera Daniela fue muy atenta y una dulzura. La comida tambien es bastante variada junto con las bebidas que ofrecen. Deben de definitivamente tratar este restaurante maravilloso. Best service! Our waitress Daniela was very attentive and such a sweetheart. The food had an amazing variety along with the drinks. Definitely recommend this place to any one seeking a abundant meal or drinking time.

Looking at taco places, I went with something close by to our location and found this hidden gem. Nestled away on a small street corner of Clay Street and 32nd Ave. parking can be scarce, but I'm sure with the right time and a little bit of walking you will find and manage your way here. Outside the restaurant, they have a small seating area which now is winter too cold to enjoy, but I'm sure in the spring and summer and fall time is super enjoyable. The inside, though a little bit tiny and no cozier than going to your mom's house and expecting a family Filled living room/Kitchen. We went down and greeted by three smiling faces. We already looked at the photos online and knew we want tacos so opted with the chicken tacos and Carne Asada taco plates. The tacos place option came with 5 tacos with up to 2 choices of meats the ratio would be 2:3 .. freshly mashed guacamole made in front of you or freshly sliced avocado.. In the pictures I listed you will find each chicken and Carne Asada options. Both slow pictures missing two tacos because we devoured them as soon as we got into the truck. Their street tacos are heavenly! Chicken option was all chicken breast super juicy grilled to perfection five tacos on a plate another two tacos missing because my husband and I devoured it. This plate came we asked it with the guacamole option instead of fresh avocado. The carne asada was just FULL of flavor and the fresh avocado slices with green tomatillo salsa SLAPPED.. the tortillas are super soft and tears from how fresh the flour tortillas were!! Definitely a place to sit and eat there to enjoy the hot food. I'm originally from SoCal and a heavily populated Latinos with amazing tacos and food.. Taqueria La Familia passed the bar high!! We can't wait to come back and try other options and will update pictures and review then!

I had the cadillac margarita and my SO had the paloma, both were very tasty. You could tell the marg was made with fresh ingredients and not just a bottled mixer. 5 stars for drinks! As for food, you are greeted with the standard basket of chips and salsa, which were excellent. The salsa was full of flavor with just right amount of heat. We finished it off in no time and our server graciously brought out another basket. For entrees, we decided to split an order of the quesobirria tacos and an order of the enchiladas suisas. Both dishes were excellent, but the quesobirria was phenomenal! I would absolutely get an order of these for myself next time. The enchiladas were also really good and were smothered in a delicious verde sauce and stuffed with carnitas, which apparently are the house specialty. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be coming back! I for one am so stoked to have an authentic Mexican restaurant in the area and can't wait to explore more of the menu!

Guacamole was good, but expensive for a small portion. I had a Chimichanga (carnitas). It was average. Not crispy, deep fried. Overall the food is just OK. As we were looking at the menu, I didn't notice any GF indicators by any of the menu items, nor did the menu itself mention gluten free items. I was hoping our friends would be able to enjoy a decent selection of their delicious food that I had come to love. What a surprise - we learned that EVERYTHING on the menu is gluten free. Are you kidding me? Even the churros? Yes, even the churros. Chips and salsa? No problem. Our friends were so surprised and so very impressed. We ordered the pork shank (scrumptious), chicken enchiladas with jalapeño cream sauce (yes, please) and roasted chicken (tender and well seasoned). And yes, we shared an order of churros. Kiddos in a candy store - that's the vibe our table had. Friends literally impressed with every bite and with zero worries about having limited options. I was so happy for them and so impressed with Teocalli. The food was incredible - as always. Staff were wonderful and the place itself is gorgeous. Teocalli has a minimal, yet very tasteful feel. I love the live plants and beautiful decor. 10/10 highly recommend.

I love that Teocalli Cocina is 100% gluten-free. Thank you! That said, they really do need to offer some vegan options. A mushroom taco, cauliflower taco, or something with grilled veggies and beans would be tasty. It can be done, other places do it! (Note: many gluten free people are dairy free too.) My husband ordered the cheese enchiladas, but was given chicken instead, and we were disappointed to learn that the rice and pinto beans contain meat. This is unnecessary. I do hope they incorporate more vegetarian and vegan options into the menu in the future.
