My husband and I were looking for a good pollo asado place in Houston after visiting a fantastic…read morerestaurant in San Antonio. This place is close to our house and had good enough reviews so we decided to give it a try, and wow, I'm so glad we did! I would love to eat here literally every single week. I think we've found our go-to chicken spot! The restaurant itself is unassuming and small but with sufficient seating. We ordered two of the half chicken plates and got the lunch special. $12 for half a pollo asado, rice, beans, grilled onion, salsa, and a canned beverage. Cheaper than Chick-fil-a and I would pick this any day. Service was fast; I was expecting to sit at our table waiting a bit for the food but my husband brought it to our table right after he paid. We shared two of the chicken plates between us and our toddler, who also loved the food! Another win! We'll definitely be back! Also the salsa verde is my favorite! I ended up going back to the register for an extra one, it was so good!!

We ordered barbacoa, pollo asado (can with ranchero beans, fresh corn tortillas, rice and salsas) and menudo. Barbacoa was so tender. They gave a great portion. The meat is melt in your mouth. The pollo asado is delicious. Juicy, tender and well seasoned. The ranchero beans that accompanied this is also yummy. Menudo had tender tripes with lots of pieces, but flavor was a little lacking. I would come back for the pollo asado for sure. Good place for a quick lunch grab.

1 star () if I could it be 0!!…read more I hate to leave a negative review, but after multiple visits, I feel this place deserves honest feedback. What went wrong: * The service from the owner is consistently rude and very short with customers -- there's no warmth or willingness to help. * I specifically asked no onions and yet they still put them on my order. * On another visit, they didn't even have flour tortillas, despite that being a common item and something I assumed they would stock. * This isn't a one-time issue -- every time I come here, the service is bad and things go wrong. Bottom line: Customers deserve respect and care, especially when they come back repeatedly. Unfortunately, this place fails at that. Some people just shouldn't run a business where service matters so much. I won't be returning, and I don't recommend it unless you have low expectations.

And while some of my deliveries have come later than anticipated, the late drop offs do not affect the taste and flavors of the food. Of course I get the tacos here. The barbacoa and suadero are some of the tastier ones. They also have a Brasada taco order which is 5 street tacos w/ steak, cheese, poblano pepper, onions, pastor, and bacon; squeeze that lime on it and drizzle it with the green salsa, oh my! Also the gorditas here are probably the best I've had in Houston. Right texture of crispiness, taste of the masa, beans, queso frisco, meat, lettuce and onions, can't go wrong with it. And the gordita stays in tact and doesn't fall apart like some that I've eaten. Reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where George gets Calzones for Steinbrenner who notes how much he loves the pita pocket of the Calzone for keeping the ingredients in place. That's how this gordita was; kept in place! If the food is this good through delivery, I definitely need to order directly with the truck here one of these days. Soon enough, soon enough!

Wanted their breakfast tacos but they don't have those in the evening. Hopefully they change that as breakfast should be available all the time if you ask me. FP's is built for takeout and delivery. Don't expect to find a dining table. I found most lunch items were a tad on the expensive side, so I went with two amigos. I didn't realized I could have asked for black or boracho jeans. The tacos were street taco sized, but really filled. The shrimp taco, while not what I ordered, was very good. Firm shrimp, lettuce, pico & guacamole. For good measure, they included some chips, salsa and a side of guacamole, pico & lettuce. So. Good food. A slightly botched order. This place has proven not to be a viable source. I ordered one order of the tacos Al carbon, one beef fajita and one pork carnitas. The flour tortillas were soggy. The chips and salsa that came with it was thrown away, chips were so so and the salsa had the consistency of water, while spicy there was no discernible flavor. The real concern was that the establishment charged me for two orders instead of the one I ordered. I questioned the pricing but was not provided an answer as to the high cost. When I got home I looked at the take out menu they gave me and verified that I was charged for two orders.
