I recently needed to bring a care package to Tucson, where daily temperatures hover around 75°F. Since I wouldn't arrive within two days, using dry ice was essential to keep the contents fresh. Finding dry ice locally proved challenging, as the nearest supplier was farther than anticipated. The name El Monte ice but it's actually in La puente , Upon arrival, the staff was exceptionally helpful. Unsure of the required amount, I consulted them, and after a quick call, they recommended 5 pounds to last 48 hours. To be cautious, I purchased 10 pounds for approximately $22. The staff kindly assisted in bringing it to my car. After 26 hours, I checked the package and found that nearly all 10 pounds of dry ice had sublimated. This observation aligns with general guidelines indicating that dry ice sublimates at a rate of about 5 to 10 pounds every 24 hours in a standard insulated container. I used the box from hungry roots grocery delivery. I think the result will be better if I have ice chest .I'm relieved I doubled the recommended amount, ensuring my care package arrived in Tucson safe and fresh. Given this positive experience, I will definitely return to this supplier for future dry ice needs. read more

It has a small parking lot. As i pulled in and staff member came up to me and showed me their displayed prices and types of ices they sell. I opted for 3 - 40 lbs bags of ice. When comparing to grocery store and gas stations selling ice, this place was a real bargain worth the trip. They also have large blocks of ice and shaved ice as well. All our food went bad due to direct dry ice contact. Them being ice experts they could have warned us! For those not aware, place a barrier between dry ice and your food, iE cardboard, styrofoam etc! 3 days in the desert! Luckily we were able to purchase food at 3 times regular prices! read more
