The first time I went, I got pupusas, which were amazing. Their pupusa expert wasn't in on my last visit, but it gave me a chance to explore other options. The tacos were awesome & totally where it's at! Tried the al pastor, asada, and lengua. All great! They give you the option of cooked or fresh onions & they're all topped w/ cilantro & avocado too. The corn tortillas are slightly grilled for a nice char. Also gave the sopes a try & those were freshly fried & topped high with meat and toppings. They start you off with chips & each person gets their own salsa dish (yes!). You can ask for hot salsa (green) too. The boys that take your order are very friendly & attentive. Def recommend giving it a try!

You order at the counter and find a seat. They didn't give us any numbers but still found us without any issue. The salsa bar was definitely a highlight and what drew me to this restaurant. They definitely adjusted the heat in the salsas to appeal to the most people, giving warnings of very hot and extremely hot. As a spice lover the hottest one was around a medium by my standard, but the flavors were excellent. We asked for some chips to sample the salsas before our meal arrived. They tasted homemade and very good. I ordered the chicken and pastor tacos with everything (cilantro, onions, lime) and also tried the pork tamale with green sauce. My bf had a chicken burrito. Everything was excellent, but the tamale was just a tad dry, but did taste homemade which was a plus. The tacos were well seasoned and the burrito was huge so we had leftovers. The food came out fast and before we left we also ordered a mango smoothie and mango with tajin/tamarind which was the perfect sweet treat. La Campirana is an absolute gem and one you should visit immediately!

Thus, we were hesitant...but hungry with little expectations. Upon entry, we were pleasantly surprised to hear Mexican music and Spanish speakers in the back. I had hope! Although the salsa was bland (& I avoid spicy), we shared the taco plate and a nachos. We were not disappointed. However, I recommend skipping the mojito entirely- I had to send it back. And yes, i know mojito is a cuban drink. They knew we weren't from town, lol- so we got to talking and learned they had roots from Mexico, then grew up not terribly far from me in Ca. He admitted they've had to adjust the way they make some items due to the mid-west clientele they have who aren't used to anything remotely authentic.

Our guests also had to go to the bar themselves to order additional cocktails. The food quality was fine, but the service was poor and response to our inquiries to get food ordered was inadequate.

I had seen the very bright, festive sign while passing through Sturgis and thought that it looked fun. Not only was it somewhat fun, but this was better than your run-of-the-mill Mexican restaurant. First of all, the sweet tea holds up to the Mexican restaurant standard of having exceptional sweet tea. Second, the salsa was chunky, tasty, and very mild. But it was all kinds of good. Third, my burrito was fabulous. I chose the Burrito Kentucky which is a large burrito covered with cheese with the choice of chicken or steak and stuffed with beans, rice, lettuce, spur cream, and Pico de Gallo. I chose the steak and this steak was exceptional for a Mexican restaurant. It was seasoned really well, not overcooked, and seemed to maybe have a hint of lime. I ordered my burrito without beans and lettuce because beans make a burrito gross and lettuce is just a waste of space that takes away from better ingredients. My coworker got an enchilada and the enchilada sauce was not thin like most. That was a great decision because the thickness of the sauce added to my burrito experience. And this burrito was a lunch special so it was $8. Fiesta Acapulco has been hands down the best place to eat at in the Morganfield-Sturgis area.
