This is the second time we've been there under new ownership and first time for lunch. Both times we were greeted by a friendly face and seated right away. They give you chips salsa and a small dish of refried beans to hold you over until your meal comes out. The food comes to your table nice and hot, portions are of average size and enough to fill me up and both times my wife took home left overs. Everything taste fresh and good. Today the food was terrible. My wife got the chicken taco salad and it seemed they did not drain the fluid off at all because there was an excess of fluid that leaked out of the shell and literally made a 1/4" deep pool of water in the plate. I ordered the asada street tacos. Literally half the meat was pure fat. We both had iced tea and it also was disappointing almost like it was made with pond water. read more

Wet nice atmosphere and welcoming staff. House margaritas are maybe lemon based?? Flavor was quite tart. Portion sizes were good. Wife's chile relleno was not fried enough and unfortunately quite doughy. Price was a bit high for what we received. Some dessert sopapillas were given as a token of good service for the chili relleno issue. They were excellent! read more

Family friendly , deliciously authentic food, attentive and such a friendly staff it created a great environment. We will be returning!

In a last minute decision we decided to give El Mex-Kal a try. To be honest we have had mixed experience here, but tonight the food was fantastic! There were four of us and we all had great food! Had dinner here on a Friday night. The staff were friendly and service was good! The food was good too. Try the ribeye and Shrimp. The chips and salsa were also very good. Try a strawberry margarita if you can too. read more

Mexican food is supposed to be reasonably priced, our lunch charge for 2 was $50. I hope that the owner/management takes these constructive criticisms to heart but the amounts were very small. Note rice/beans costs are low so any Resturant should make sure there are good amounts of those on the plate, they also need lunch pricing (don't think there is a lunch menu) as opposed to dinner pricing. Biria tacos were a must do again good service and tasty food. Wasn't too busy but our server made us feel like we were her only table.

Eh, poor service, drinks made incorrectly, and super small portions relative to the cost.

We would absolutely love to leave a raving review, but every time we place an order there is something missing. Nothing detrimental to the full order - tortillas for fajitas, a side of soup, etc - but still...after a few orders, it gets a little old. Don't get near Milliken very often...but our daughter had a volleyball game & we had some time to kill- so we stopped here for a quick bite. It is VERY clean! The waitress was great- attentive & friendly. Shredded beef nachos were tasty & the strawberry margarita was great. Would recommend! read more

The atmosphere was alright, the waiter was rude and slow. We were the only ones in the restaurant and she forgot what we ordered to drink... I was hoping the food would be good but there sauce was a BBQ sauce over enchiladas and my tostada! We left no tip and do not plan on coming back.. read more

We decided not to go back to this restaurant. We visited about 4 times, and each time the service was not good. Each time we went there was only one waitress (at dinner time), and the waitress acted rude and unfriendly, and any time we asked her for more salsa or chips, or just to bring us silverware so we could eat the food, she acted like we were bothering her. One fellow (cook or owner, not sure) brought us over the melted cheese dip we ordered without any chips, and as he quickly walked away without saying a word to us, I quickly called out, "excuse me, we need chips to go with this," and he remarked coolly, as though he did not have time for us, "One minute!" and never came back to our table. They are short and rude to customers and made us feel very uncomfortable eating there and asking for anything. Last visit we saw that they had raised their prices way up, and for the mediocre quality of food and unfriendly service, we have decided not to return. read more
