Great family run place- was able to get my son's suit dry cleaned in a day!!! . Great service and nice quality

It's rare that I can say that I have been going to a single business for 25 years, but that's the case here! Granted, I do a lot less dry cleaning than I used to, as is the case with most of us I think. As a result, I've watched quite a number of dry cleaners go out of business in this town. Are they the cheapest in town? Nope. Not at all. They're not ridiculously expensive though. But most importantly, they are honest. If they don't think they can get a spot out, they will tell you. That said, I've been pretty shocked at what they've been able to do! I don't know if the woman who runs it is the owner, but I suspect she is because I've literally seen her every time I've been in for the past 25 years. She is lovely and helpful. Highly recommend! read more

Great quality and doesn't break the bank! Been having them clean my suits and have never had a problem.

I took a very special cashmere jacket with handmade ceramic buttons here for dry cleaning. My husband came to pick it up, paid for it, and then was told that the buttons were damaged. They had sewn on other buttons without any discussion that did not match. When my husband expressed his dissatisfaction and asked for a refund, this was refused. He was told that it was our responsibility because we should have removed the buttons before taking the jacket for dry cleaning. They took no responsibility for ruining a favorite piece of clothing. read more

Friendly service and great work! The owner even fixed a small hole in a pair of my favorite slacks for free. I'll definitely be returning here for my future dry cleaning needs. Thank you! read more

The best in town for what I think is over 30 years. The most polite and wonderful couple have always taken the best care of their customers. Great job cleaning any stains, alterations, etc. very thankful of them read more

I have reviewed this business previously and I must say they continue to meet my very high expectations when it comes to laundering my dress shirts, and particularly my jeans that I like to have starch with a crease down the front center most dry cleaners will not offer that service and don't provide that service. Wendy and her husband do an amazing job with all the work being done on site and not subcontracted out to a large laundry facility. They do the work on premise and they do an excellent job you can trust them with your $3000 business suits or your $30 pair of jeans and everything in between they do an excellent job!! read more

They always do great cleaning work on our sport coats and comforters and are such kind and courteous people. They also do excellent repairs on clothing like replacing broken zippers, keeping some of my favorite cleaning items in circulation. Prices are fair. Highly recommended! read more

Great service. I came in with a bunch of questions and they had all the answers. Pickup was ready right when they said it would be. The price seemed reasonable. I also had a pair of pants shortened and it was no problem at all. read more

Great service, nice staff, fast turn around time! Slightly expensive, but worth it for dry cleaning

Got a cardigan and two sweaters dry cleaned here. Although the price can be stiff, the owner is a very nice lady and they did a great job cleaning. read more

My husband came in to have some pants hemmed. Service was on time, pants done well, and woman at the counter very nice. Will bring all of our stuff here read more

Best dry cleaner ever! Wendy and Willie are the nicest people. They are always kind and friendly. We have been going here twice a month for 20 years. Wendy and Willie have helped us so many times, mending, fixing wedding clothing, and boxing family heirlooms for storage. read more

Great little family owned business. Wendy and Willy are both friendly and nice. This is exactly the type of business that we all should support. They take great care with your clothes and their prices are fair. Don't go anywhere else. read more

I am house sitting in south davis and stopped by to drop off 2 shirts. At about 1 today after I arrived i asked how much it was and was told $6.50 per button up. I looked up & said "seriously?" "at almost every place in sacramento its $3.50". It challenged her a bit but why shouldnt it? She said "you go there". The people who have given this place 4 stars must think that dry cleaning a dress without ruining it is a skill sent down from god or something this store cashes in on poor aging south davis baby boomers who are too tired to go anywhere else. Several times they washed garments that i told them in no uncertain terms to dry clean years ago. This is no kind of "amazing" or "special" dry cleaner that one would take a wedding dress to. Its okay... And they charge prices .50 cents more than i've paid in downtown San Francisco. I have no idea who would rate this 5 stars. Theyre severely overpriced & borderline ripping people off, and they appear to be adamant about that. read more

One of the reviews for this place is whack. This yelper complained about bad customer service but I highly disagree with this person. Of course your business is going to get turned away if you ask them to do a rush dry cleaning job. If you had taken your clothes to them earlier in the week, they'll have your clothes ready in four or five days. If they don't have the manpower to do your order asap, I totally understand. Obviously, they're going to say no. I hate entitled customers who think that they are so important and expect to get taken care of immediately. Businesses have the right to refuse service. I took my items to the dry cleaners on Saturday and promptly got them back on Wednesday. Most dry cleaners have a turn around date within 3-5 days. Also, the same yelper expected them to know local competitors in the area to give them a reference. That's stupid. Again, she's expecting that they know all the other dry cleaning businesses in the area. Why doesn't this yelper give them the benefit of the doubt that truly don't know other nearby dry cleaners? Why can't this yelper just look it up themselves? Again, what annoys me the most is entitled people. I totally understand that if a customer had their clothes was damaged that they would write a negative review but come on, if you haven't even gone to the place to get your stuff cleaned/altered, you shouldn't give this place such a negative review. I think it is completely misleading. On another note, I had a good experience at El Macero. The two people there were super friendly and nice. Right when I walked in, they smiled at me and welcomed me in. Although they are on the more pricier side for dry cleaning, I had a pretty decent experience. The one issue I had with this place was that my sweater was a little damaged after it was dry cleaned. Two of the other items came out fine but the one sweater had its fabric ripped. All in all, they're an okay dry cleaning business. read more

I think it is too bad that this place would rather turn away customers than help them. FOR THAT... they get 1 star in my book. I called ahead of time to see if they could press just ONE SHIRT. The lady who answered the phone was quite blunt and just said, "today is the last day and there is no one else here but me, and I don't have time." First of all I find it hard to believe that she is the only person there, on a day that they say is their last day to do clothes, and she has to do everything herself, BS! Anyways, I was nice enough to ask if she knew another place in Davis that could accomodate my request, the answer I got was-- LOOK IN THE YELLOW PAGES MA'AM I CAN'T HELP YOU. Talk about ZERO customer service. On that note, I would gladly take my clothes all the way to Vacaville than deal with these people. Sorry but you just lost a customer. read more

Wendy and the staff at El Macero cleaners are phenomenal. I've been taking uniform and personal clothing there for many years and have always been very happy with the results. read more

I get my laundry done here every week; button down dress shirts, pants, jackets and everything else always come back nicely. Staff is always kind and greets you when you walk thru the door. Overall cost efficient and good way to preserve your clothes against machine washing every time at home. Alterations also available too. read more

I took an older cashmere coat that had a torn lining into El Macero Cleaners just hoping they could patch the torn areas. To my great surprise they replaced the entire lining! The coat looks like new inside and out (they cleaned it as well). I couldn't be happier with their service and attention to detail!! I can't say enough good things about them read more

Although I left my clothes there for three days the quality of work is good. Pretty sure they just wanted to be able to have enough time for higher priority items. It'll be my main dry cleaner in Davis from now on. read more

I use El macero cleaners weekly and appreciate their kind staff. They always greet me in a nice manner and have always done a great job!

Did not clean my wool coat properly. Damaged after cleaning, no longer wearable. And they still made me pay for that.

The clerk was kind and helpful. My colthes were ready on time. I was happy with their service. read more

By far the best dry cleaner in Davis! They take great care of your clothing and will even have things done in the same day if you need it. I've had minor alterations done here as well, and I would recommend them for hemming and shortening sleeves. read more

Exorbitant prices - when I asked why my coat was so expensive to clean she said because it had stains on it. It's a black wool coat, it had lint on it. Basically they called everything stained so they could charge a premium. I will never go back here. Check your prices around town, this place is out of whack. read more

This is probably the best laundry place that I have ever been to. The staff is so friendly and nice and are always willing to help with advice and provide excellent service. I've been taking my uniforms here for many years they are fast, affordable and do a great job! I highly recommend El Macero cleaners! ***** read more

I have used this dry cleaner for three years for suits, tuxedoes and my Indochino dress shirts. This is an excellent dry cleaner and Wendy (one of the family owners) is absolutely awesome. They have never had a problem with a garment cleaned or repaired by them. The prices are reasonable and the customer service is excellent. I have requested, and received, excellent rush service when it was necessary. In all my years of coming here, I have heard the owners interact with many customers while dropping off and picking up. They have many very happy customers and I will be bringing my garments here for as long as I live in Davis. read more

The previous review is incorrect. They do all alterations out of shop and I was told that it could take as much as a week to do the alterations I requested, which was the sewing on of a button. Did not actually use the shop, but would suggest people who do to allot a proper amount of time. read more

This place is NOT the place to go if you want your clothes clean!!!! I went to have my winter coat cleaned and when I told them it still had cat hair on it the owner said it was clean enough. No refund, no trying to redo it, just give us our money and get out. If I could give them no stars I would because now I have to take my co at to another cleaner to get it cleaned, they really suck at cleaning and att customer service read more

Took my black pea-coat to get cleaned. Still had dog hair all over it when I picked it up. I asked about it and the gentleman said, "Well, we have to pick them off one by one." I lifted up the pocket flap and they hadn't even lint-brushed. The underside was still covered in lint and hair as was the inside of the coat. I'll be taking my cleaning someplace else. The owners obviously don't care about quality or customer satisfaction. read more

I have used their alteration services several times and have always been happy. They send out the work, and I think they do pickup/dropoff on Tuesday and Thursday so be aware of that if you have a time sensitive alteration need. They are always really quick to measure and I've gotten things back in 2 days. read more

Great Customer Service! I get my shirts and pants cleaned and hemmed here. They do an excellent job

First time coming here after using the dry cleaners in the Safeway shopping mall on Cowell. I would have to say that the lady did a good job on dry cleaning my suit and 4 shirts. Price was very reasonable compared to the other cleaner and she was able to get it to me within 3 days. If you are looking for some quick and reasonably priced dry cleaning, this is a "go to" for all the South Davis people. The lady is really nice as well and she's Korean for all the Korean speakers out there. read more

This is the place I love to go every week for dry cleaning( business casual - slacks and dress shirts ). The staff is great and always friendly and I always end up spending a bit too much time talking to the folks here... I mentioned they are friendly. We have used El Macero Cleaners for many years. The service is great, and the owners are extremely nice and accommodating. We use them weekly for our dry cleaning and laundry, as well as for occasional alterations. We would definitely recommend them! read more

We have been using this dry cleaner for years. This is a excellent dry cleaner run by a very nice family. They are professional. In response to the person who said zero customer service, they don't make promises they cannot keep, and they do the work for their regular customers in an orderly manner. I am sorry they could not accommodate the person wanting a rush item, but doing that item rather than taking care of the customers who are waiting for their items would be unfair. read more

First time here. Dry cleaned my winter coat about $15 for service. Very friendly. They were even nice when I forgot to pick up the coat. I would definitely return for future dry cleaning. read more
