The ambience was amazing and felt like home! We ordered our food 5 minutes after getting there and they came out with the food in less than 15! Food was awful. Chips were hard. Salsa was okay. Chili tasted like it came from a can. I had fajita enchiladas--half gristle, couldn't finish it. Service was fine. Poor girl looked to be in high school. She did great. Ambiance? Kitschy. You'd do about as well stopping at a convenience store and grabbing a burrito. read more

Stopped here for the first time today while on a road trip. The food was ok - the salsa and chips are average as were the beef enchiladas and sides. What set this place at four stars for me was that the service was excellent and friendly. Thank you, small-town Texas. The prices, too, were extremely reasonable on the lunch specials. Authentic and delicious! A wonderful place to come into town for. The chips are crispy & thin and the just-made-salsa; a perfect start. I dined on the beef burrito and chicken chimichanga; part of their many choices for the combo meal. Both were fresh and tasty with tender meat inside and topped with delicious, homemade sauces. My friends, who I accompanied (Biil & Janet), are "Regulars" here and it's easy to see why! In a town replete with a pretty good number of Mexican restaurants, this is the one to go to! Stopped by El Jardin while driving froM Austin to Ft Worth. I ordered fajitas and my husband ordered quesadillas. The fajitas were excellent. Perfectly seasoned. Both the chicken and steak were tender and delicious. Quesadillas were also terrific. The service was friendly and professional. The entire restaurant was full & we still had a great experience. I wish we had a Mexican restaurant of this quality in Georgetown. We will defiantly make the drive to come here again. read more

I don't eat in Hamilton often, but when I do, I eat at El Jardin. They are a friendly restaurant that has some good food! I ordered the Fajita Chimichanga and it was done really well. The queso wasn't great, but it was serviceable. Check this place out next time you're in Hamilton and let us know what you think! read more

I would definitely come here again. We stopped here after the state trooper who stopped us for speeding recommended it. (Don't speed on 281, but if you do be polite.) The fish tacos were surprisingly good. The salsa and chips were excellent. Oasis in the middle of nowhere. Wanted place with kid friendly menu and noise level and it fit both. Burgers, chicken nuggets and other fare with Mexican food. Mexican food was quick to come out so assume mostly prepped. portions weren't huge but still decent and I got full on beef chile relleno. Wife had average taco salad but we all ate well. Enormous glasses made for all the tea or water the family could handle. Chips thick and fairly fresh with good salsa. Rice and beans what you'd expect from prepared but still good. We ate here after a playoff basketball game...late, but they made our party of five welcome. They even gave the five year old an official waitresses' apron. I can't say enough about the service. Really great place to eat! Food was brought out very quickly. The chips and salsa were delish! I ordered the cheese enchiladas, they weren't quite what I was expecting, but they were still good. The menu said they came with cheese and onions and covered in a chili sauce, they were just plain cheese and covered in a cheese sauce, which was ok. The charro beans were good too. Hubby ordered a half order beef quesadilla, the flour tortilla was homemade, the beef had excellent flavor and was very tender. It was a huge order for it being a "half-order"! Great find in Hamilton on our back roads way back to Dallas. Big menu with a nice variety. My daughter loved the fish tacos, I had tacos all carbon with a mix of beef and chicken. Nothing overly exciting here, but the food was good and the service was also spot on. We went around 3pm so it was very quiet which was a plus for us. They have an affordable lunch menu and their chips are very crispy. I'm giving 4 Stars though 3.5 would be my first choice. For a small town, this is certainly acceptable. read more

This was a quick lunch after a Dr visit and an afterthought stop. In an old part of town in an old building, nice inside. Parking is rough at mealtimes but that is the cities fault not the restaurants. I had chili relleno. The rice and beans were excellent and the relleno was delicious. My wife had the taco and enchilada combo. Everything was delicious and​ service was great. The next time we stop here it won't be an accident. read more
