The service sucks! If this was a one time thing I would not say that. But it has been every time I have gone in the last two weeks. Then whenever my mom called to place the order the lady who took the order on the phone was super tacky! We got this order to go , it was terrible. When You go in person you wait forever you don't get waited on you don't get refills you don't get anything except for attitude you get plenty of that! We moved to Pottsville 1 1/2 years ago, and Frida's was one of our exploratory restaurants. Our first time there was wonderful. - food, portions, drinks, nice little bar, and service. All great. After many months of going to other restaurants and other towns, it was quickly decided that Frida's was our # 1 place to go for Mexican food. Not sure why there are several low reviews for slow service. It does get busy there, but after going there at least a dozen times our wait time was never unreasonable. We moved to the area a while back and we've been looking for some good Mexican food. A friend told us to try Frida's. Glad we did. I got combo fajitas and my wife cheese enchiladas. Large portions. You won't go away hungry. The food was good. I'd like a little more spicy but it tasted good. Sort of a no frills place. I drove past it and had to turn around. It's clean inside. Super good Mexican food!! It's kind of a hole in the wall But the food is absolutely delicious. If he wait staff are really nice and funny and interact with you. They make a mean margarita too. We eat at Frida's once a week. The ambience is...rustic-ly incomplete. But what it lacks in decor, it makes up for with delicious food. I rotate between the same three dishes and my husband only chooses between two. The beef fajitas are seasoned perfectly. My favorite is the chicken chili relleno. OMG!!! I had to stop in just because their billboard (overlooking the Police Station nextdoor) looks like my ex-sister in law. The front entrance was locked at 11:20 A.M., although it stated they open at 11 A.M. I ordered their steak fajitas...bad choice! I guess the cook doesn't know about PAM or Canola Oil to prevent beef/onions/green peppers (just two strips!) from sticking to the iron skillet. I asked the waitress if they had lemonade, she said yes. I was presented with a large, red plastic cup filled with Sprite & a big dash of lemon juice from the bar! Watch out for "folded-over" tortilla chips (manufacturer defect?)...they are harder than normal chips and may cause dental damage! The dining area looks like the night shift FORGOT TO CLEAN IT. I had to use the men's restroom, but someone beat me to it (limit one customer per visit). I had to use the women's restroom, good thing I'm Transgendered! Great food! We have stopped here a time or two. My favorite thing is their "salt" is a unique mixture. I put it on everything!! I need the recipe! Queso Flameado was different than the style I've had before, but delicious none the less! We shared beef fajitas for 1 and it was more than plenty. Highly recommend if you're in the area! read more

Horrible service. Had to wait for EVERYTHING. Ordered beer, waitress left it on the counter and had to remind her to bring it. Employees passing back and forth acting like no one knew who was supposed to be serving our table. Food was average at best. Employees arguing with each other at the bar area. No one came to our table to see if we needed anything during our meal. Had to ask for our check twice, then about 10 minutes after our server disappeared we went to the check out and she and someone else couldn't find our ticket. Finally got out of there. The chips were not strong enough to scoop the salsa.. flimsy chips, I treated my half brother and his wife, after I knocked my tea by accident.. The waitress took her time, and wasn't responsive.. The air conditioning didn't feel like it was on... Yet the 'big' beef is some places 'closed' on Mondays??? W.T.F.M.F.?? The guacamole 'destroyed' the flimsy chips.. Just no, no, no! I have hunted in this area for many years. This used to be a regular place for me. They have been bought out and changed. Every table was dirty, short handed staff, the refried beans where made with beans not cooked through. A bit on the crunchy side. One guy, at another table, walked out before his food came out. We ordered fajitas for 2. It came with 3 tortillas. The chips were from the bottom of the warmer and in shattered pieces. We waited for a second round of drinks and had to order them twice. Disgusting service. I had to call to have them open their doors (they open at 11 and I called at 11:10) She then slammed the door in my moms face. Told us to sit wherever we wanted so we chose the booth area and she said are you sure? Said yes, she said fine and was visibly upset. She then proceeded to screech the chairs across the dining room floor to not allow anyone else in. Made a big show about how much of an inconvenience it was for her to scoot the chairs out of the way each time to give drinks/food. It would have been very easy to just say I'm sorry but that area is closed right now instead of making a fool of herself. The floor was dirty with food and napkins- even if that was the reason she didn't want us in that area a restaurant should be cleaned before customers come in. Never got an apology for her outrageous display of rudeness (slamming our drinks and food on the table, raising her voice when we didn't know what we wanted after having the menu for two minutes, etc.) What's sad is I think that's the owner.
