Chorizo and egg taco $1.65.
Daryll B.

I'm hanging around the barrio again on Spur St. I tried a chorizo and egg taco through the drivethough. I found the tortilla to be hard around the edges and the chorizo and egg lacked flavor. I probably won't be back as Milly's across the street also has a drive though and her tortillas are soft, homemade and delicious. In comparing these Spur st. joints with Seguin taquerias (taco tejano, las palmas, the palms), there is just no comparison. Seguin is outstanding with the tortillas, salsas, and meat fillings.

Popped into El Jardin for breakfast and the breakfast tacos did not disappoint. The fillings were very generous and service was on point. Tortillas were tasty but a little on the hard side. I would definitely return to try other dishes. I really like El Jardin because they have a nifty drive-thru that I've been using since I was in high school. There are plenty of seating options and they have a nice bar in the back room.

So goooood

Ordering happens first at the counter and then each party is assigned a table. I loved this because the only wait is on the front end. The staff were friendly, attentive and genuinely wanting to make sure everything was perfect. Lastly and most importantly was the food. It was delivered hot, portions were generous and every dish was tasty. I highly recommend Breakfast.

BUT, heaven forbid you ask for syrup or bring your own bottle, with your own water ("TABC forbids it"...sure Jan). The first time we went, there was something "off" that happened with the interaction I had with the lady owner. I just couldnt remember what it was, and I dont hold grudges. Plus I give grace to ppl I dont know the backstory to. This second time, I asked for syrup with the pancakes. I get it, it already had the house made fruit syrup, and I probably didn't NEED maple syrup. But Im a fat kid, and it was Saturday. Let a chubby girl live! I asked for syrup and was starred at, "why? ". I replied, "....for my pancakes". I felt judged. Then she stares at me again saying, "theres this joke...nevermind, bad timing" and walked away and then brought the syrup. I really wanted to ask what the joke was. Am I the butt end of it?! Well, it makes me sad. The food really is awesome. The personality, not so much. And I get it, my job is customer and client related and we want to say what's on our mind, but its just not kind. Not very Texan or southern to just give unprovoked rudeness. Still no grudges. I just dont want to be judged for having extra sugar on a Saturday brunch.

Upon sitting down at the table, we were served salsa and chips, which were really good. I did ask for green salsa, which was also good. The food was really delicious. My only complaint would have been that one of our lunch plates was given to the table next to us in error and instead of replacing the plate immediately we had to wait until that table's order was filled, and they took their plate and gave it to our table. As far as drinks, the Micheladas were good, but the frozen mango margarita had an artificial powdery taste. But overall, our waitress was amazing and super friendly . I definitely would come back since enchiladas were really good.

We called in advance hoping to reserve a place for 12 people. They were very courteous and told us that they are a first come first seated kinda place, but they would do their best to accommodate. We got there and they did an awesome job getting us together. You should have seen the looks we were getting. Oh well. They sat us down, brought us chips and salsa. Took our drink order, then our food order. They did a wonderful job serving us, and everyone else around us. Very casual place.

The French toast with strawberries was outstanding--perfectly golden, light and fluffy, topped with fresh strawberries that made every bite delicious. It was easily one of the best breakfast dishes I've had in a long time. The liver and onions were just as impressive. The liver was tender and cooked perfectly, and the caramelized onions brought everything together. It's a classic dish that's hard to find done well these days, and Union Station absolutely gets it right. Great food, generous portions, friendly service, and that genuine small-town charm make this place something special. If you're looking for a local spot that serves quality home-style cooking with people who make you feel welcome, Union Station is well worth the visit. I'll definitely be back!

From the nostalgic tributes to Blue Bell, our armed forces, and the railroad, it felt like stepping back into a patriotic 1940s diner. The warm atmosphere and hometown feel made the experience just as memorable as the food. If you're craving a classic, no-frills breakfast, you won't be disappointed. I ordered the eggs and pork chops. The pork chops could have used just a touch more salt for my taste, but with a light sprinkle at the table, they were absolutely delicious. My daughter ordered the short stack, and those pancakes completely blew us away. They were hands down some of the best pancakes we've ever had and officially earned this diner my new favorite breakfast spot. For those who aren't in the mood for breakfast, they also offer a generous selection of lunch options. My husband ordered the Reuben and thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall, Union Station Diner delivers everything you'd hope for in a small-town diner: welcoming hospitality, comforting food, and a nostalgic atmosphere that makes you want to come back again. If you're passing through, it's absolutely worth the stop.
