DECOR:
The decor is quite simple. They have a deck area, outside seating, bar stool seating (facing the open kitchen) and regular seating inside the restaurant. They also have a private lot for free parking that can accommodate 10-12 cars.
FOOD:
We ordered the Camarones Mofongo (Shrimp), Chicharrones De Pollo (Pinchos) served with fried green plantains and Pepperoni Pizza. Everything was very delicious.
1) In my earlier review for Cafe Manolin (Old San Juan) I have mentioned that the Mofongos in general are so bland. But this one was very tasty and flavorful with the perfect amount of salt and other spices that really made me change my opinion about Mofongos. I loved it! The shrimps were big in size and the portion was very good.
2) The Chicharrones De Pollo (Pinchos) were a bit dry by the time I ate it; may be because I had bought it as carry out and it tastes the best when hot.
3) The pizza was tasty and we had ordered a personal pan size and expected something like 6" but this was 12". It could have been a miscommunication or may be the portions they serve are great! By the way, you can select your own toppings.
SERVICE:
I was surprised to know that they speak English. I was totally blank when I saw the menu. I translated everything I could on the menu on Google translate but it's best when you can speak to someone and seek their recommendation on the menu items. The lady at the counter was polite too. Our food was ready within 20 mins from the time ordered.
PRICE:
Our total was $33 (without tips). I have also put up a picture of the menu. They accept Visa/MasterCard for charges above $10. read more
