The front desk staff and employees were welcoming and friendly. The room was small, but for the price we paid, it was good enough for a short stay. It wasn't the cleanest hotel I've stayed at, but it definitely wasn't the dirtiest either. One thing we really liked was the location. There are plenty of good seafood spots nearby, and my wife and I enjoyed walking around, grabbing food, and exploring the area by the beach. Just keep in mind that this is a busy tourist area right by the beach. There are a lot of people, music can be playing late into the night, and the area can get pretty rowdy. If you're looking for somewhere quiet and relaxing, this might not be the place for you. For us, though, we just needed somewhere affordable for one night, and Hotel Jatay did the job. Overall, a decent stay for the price and location.

The room was very spacious and the bed was super comfortable. The shower was huuuuge my husband, my toddler and I all showered at the same time. Management tries to keep some control of 150 noisy males but cannot. Can no longer recommend this place as i have done for past 10 years as it has reached below rock. These guests frighten me and I am over 6 feet tall and athletic and when I ask them to keep their noise down at my door they scream at me with obscene gestures and threats. The hotel work-crew of 3 local ladies is terrific and very friendly but overwhelmed so doesnt have time to clean my room. I am sorry to leave such a horrible review but it is my worst experience in 40 years of travel.

Don't go by the pictures, they are from when it had better times. Our room only had the front door nob with a with a key and no security bracket or dead bolt. Brought it up to the front desk attendant/security attention and requested to get another room only get a nasty response after claiming he would personally guaranty our safety and would not change the room. Walked away as nothing had happened. Also the rooms are completely outdated. Stay away from this place for the safety of your family. I'll attache pictures
