The birria tacos were super juicy and crispy, although I found them to be a little bit too salty. The employees were also super nice and let me taste test the mango drink before I ordered them. The drink was super sweet and paired well with the tacos.
I order the QuesaBirria whenever I come here and it's was absolutely amazing. I've never experienced a huge crowd and the wait time is not long. The food is cooked to order, so it's usually hot and fresh. The atmosphere of the restaurant is normally calm. I can enjoy one of my favorite comfort meals inside.
Got the quesa birria tacos and a spicy pork taco. Everything was delicious, and came out quickly. Lots of tables available even with a large lunch crowd. Staff is kind and were happy to give me recommendations. Authentic Mexican spot! Affordable too.
El Indio is soooo good--it's easily worth the 25-minute drive every time! They serve up authentic Mexican food that hits all the right notes, with flavors that feel homemade and packed with love. Their birria tacos are absolutely to die for--perfectly seasoned, juicy, and paired with that rich, flavorful consommé that takes them to the next level. The dining room is cozy and a great spot to sit and enjoy your meal if you're not taking it to-go. The staff is friendly, and the cashiers are bilingual, making the experience smooth whether you speak English or Spanish. El Indio is a must-visit for anyone craving real, authentic Mexican food. It's a place I'd happily go out of my way for--and you should too!
The food here is amazing!! It's delicious, authentic, and the price is great. This was my first time trying birria tacos and they were so flavorful!! I had the shrimp and steak fajitas - the steak was super tender and the shrimp were delicious with a little spicy kick to them. I would definitely eat here again!
Came here with some friends and decided to try it out! The place looked pretty normal, a little outdated which meant that it will be good. The lady took our order and we waited about 10 mins to receive our food. (It was half full) Once I dug in the tacos were amazing, they get soggy for a while and are very greasy (car oil tacos lol!) They were great and the passion fruit water was bomb. Will be back! But next time I'll bring the TUMS!
~ First review of 2024 ~ El Indio is my favorite Mexican food chain in the Atlanta area even into 2024. Consistently delicious food, accuracy, and great value/portions. I've ordered from this location several times and only had one bad experience where the consommé with the birria tacos was just oily and no flavor. That same day the pork in the pozole was also a little undercooked and on the tough side. Every other time has been a great meal though, so this does not affect my rating. I'm sure they just had a busy day. If you have not tried birria or birriaquesa tacos yet, you're missing out! I highly recommend any of the El Indio locations. They are all great. I cannot really speak to the ambiance for this location, as I just get take out or delivery most times. However you plan to order, I'm sure there is something on the menu for you to enjoy.
Tripe taco 5/5 SO good, especially after all the toppings I added from the salsa bar. Birria quesadilla 3.5/5 it had too much meat, I know it's a weird complaint, and not enough seasoning. The consume that came with it was good and light. Workers there were very friendly.
So last night was my first time here an i give this place a 6/10 . I finally got a chance to try the birria tacos aka the car oil tacos lol it's about two other names people call it but it was definitely good. I had the birra quesadilla it was with beef that kinda looked like stew beef meat . It was big and good , it was like a big quesadilla, cut into 3 . I was also able to try a birria taco I only got one. It had the stew beef kinda meat in it as well . Everything was packed up into different containers with different kinds of sauces to try. I went around 10 o'clock at night and it was worth it a little crowded for it to be that late but people were there and it was going fast . You have the option to sit inside or to take out , I believe this is a Mexican restaurant.
I was looking for somewhere with birria tacos and found El Indio. Since then, I feel like I crave them at least every other week. This place has the best birria tacos I've ever had (not that I've had much experience with them), but I like that their menu gives you so many options as well. You could get the birria plate or birria quesadilla instead if you're not feeling tacos. I generally like to order one plate of the tacos and one of the quesadilla and split half of each with my husband. Both are so good that I can't ever decide which one I want, so we get both. The cup that they give you is so big that you could make one order and just order extra tacos and still have enough to dip with all your tacos. That's generally what we do. They also have a cart on the side that you can grab your own sauces and extra toppings. It's nice because you can grab as much as you want. Service is generally pretty fast, and they keep the place pretty clean considering this is a pretty messy meal. Just writing this review already makes me want to go back again. El Indio is definitely a must try!

Saw this place as a recommendation from TikTok so I decided to try it. They only had the beef Birria Tacos so I was a bit disappointed since I really wanted to try the seafood one (in another location). The tacos were pretty delicious, very stuffed and adding the red sauce and lime, the taste was superb. The beef itself needs more flavor in my opinion but I love the texture. It was my first time trying consommé but it was really greasy, a bit too greasy to my liking so I couldn't finish it. I also got a mango juice they had on the side and for the price of ($2.00) for a small, it was a generous amount. I absolutely loved the taste of that mango juice, it was so refreshing on a hot summer day and also it balance out the greasiness of the taco and consommé. They also allow ($1.00) refill if you do want more. The place was definitely really popular since every table was full during the time I went. But they don't take social distancing seriously and it was just so packed I wouldn't sit there to dine in anytime soon. Overall, just commentary on the food, I loved it and would want to try other food they have! read more
Not that impressive on my first visit. Could have been the help that assisted me ringing out my order. On the first attempt I requested Birria with steak and chicken tacos. In my ignorance, traditionally birria is consistent used with stew beef; hence the wet consome that accompanies the tacos for dipping. In my defense however, I have been places where you can purchase steak and chicken birria consome. I guess it depends on who's cooking and if they follow tradition vs creative options. When I learned how it works it appeared to be a big deal to back out the order and start over paying a difference. So I just kept what I got. What I learned was it is good to venture out and try new things. I also learned that I may have to stick to what I know and ask questions before finalizing orders. Getting people who are not comfortable in their skin and pass their timidness is an art. I just kept it simple What I got was sufficient. It was not what I wanted but I am grateful read more

Food was amazing. But they don't require people to wear mask while waiting in line and they don't enforce social distancing . I also saw someone cutting "ready to eat" food with no gloves. He was cutting lettuce. Outside of that, This hole in the wall spot would have gotten 5 stars. read more

Always bomb. Been coming here for months now and it's by far the best mexican food in the Atlanta metro area. The menudo and pozole have amazingly rich broth. The menudo is cut and prepped into perfect sizes. The birria queso tacos are what they are popular for and well deserving but their asada is the best meat option. Followed closely by the tripas and barbacoa. Honestly all their meats are top performers. Salsa bar is always well stocked. The carrots are the best. Service is always kind and fast. I've gone at least 15 times in the last three months. read more

Everything was fresh and delicious! I ordered the Birria Quesa Tacos. I added extra queso to my tacos and extra limes in the side. The customer service was excellent. The establishment was cleaned and food score was a 97. I saw working cleaning and sanitizing as people came and left. Local location that I don't have to travel far for. I will be back. read more

Come here for the birria! It's SOOO good! The broth is good, could use a little more spice! It comes out super hot and fresh! Price point is pretty Affordable ($10) I believe. Never eaten inside, I normally get to-go. But I do want to try dining in! read more
Best tacos around, they're filled with meat! I love the asada tacos the best. The staff is very friendly. They are currently open for dine in, up to 5 people at one table. There is social distancing stickers on the floor for people ordering inside. Then you wait outside to receive your order. There is a speaker outside which calls your number, very efficient so there's not a lot of people inside waiting. $1.79 a taco. I definitely recommend this place for tacos and other good food! Great prices and good quality. I would like to let you know the parking lot might be a bit tight depending on the time of day you go. The parking lot is small and can feel crowded. I try to park on the other side near the papa johns to avoid the crowded and tight parking spaces I also like to get the Mango Agua Fresca!! read more

This was my first time ever trying birria tacos and just wow! These tacos were juicy, cheesy, and meaty! The consume was delicious and had just the right amount of flavor! I highly recommend you stop by and give these a try if you're in the area. You won't be disappointed. Had been hearing a lot about this place with the rise in popularity of Birria Tacos. I was mostly intrigued by their Birria Ramen made with Maruchan, unfortunately, it's only sold at the Tucker location! Being that I was there already, I decided to go ahead and try the tacos at least for the time being. We got two portions (each containing 3 hefty sized tacos) for about $20-22 ($10-11/portion) and a nice little bowl of consommé. As previously stated, the tacos are pretty large in size and the meat, cheese, to tortilla ratio is pretty spot on! The tortillas are extremely crispy, the meat is tender, and the thick layer of cheese in between all marry together extremely well on its own. Then you bring in the extremely rich and oily consommé, the lime juice, and the salsas and it's a fiesta in your mouth. I'd say that the meat and consommé could be a little bit more seasoned. Also, I'm no baby when it comes to grease, but the consommé skimmed a bit more. The place was nice and clean, with COVID safety precautions in place. The condiments cart w/ the limes, radishes, salsas, etc. was clean and neat. Staff was pretty friendly. Definitely a spot to try out if you've never had Birria Tacos or if you're trying to find your new spot! I'm definitely gonna go to the Tucker location to get my hands on that Birria Ramen. read more

By the look of this place I wasn't too thrilled to go in. But once I got inside and saw the menu I was excited. The best part that everything is pictured on the menu board so you can have an idea of what you are getting. I'm a taco addict and of course I got tacos! And they are only $1.35 each. Can't beat that. Honestly I didn't expect much of this place. But once I bit into my first taco , I was doing a happy dance. Tacos are very flavorful, juicy and delicious. They also have veggie, salsa and lime bar so you can help yourself to whatever you want. I'm so glad I gave this place the benefit of a doubt. Now I wish it wasn't that far from me. But it definitely worth the drive. read more

The Birria tacos were excellent. Only like $13 after tax. We went during lunch rush hour on a Tuesday, and our order took maybe 5-8min.. not bad for that time! We're looking forward to going back again soon read more

I frequent another location but this one is slightly closer so I wanted to see if there was a difference. This location is in a high traffic shopping center across from the QT. Once inside it is a good amount of seating and TV's while you wait. The menu is clear and concise. I came for my birria but I was slightly disappointed that they only do beef birria. I ordered it anyway which included 3 tacos and the consume for $10.99. The order was ready in less than 7 minutes which was faster than the other location. When I got home to eat I was pleased with the taste. The consume was a little sweeter then the other location but the tacos had more quesa and was flavorful even without the consume. Although I prefer chicken over beef I would recommend this spot. It is usually packed for lunch and early dinner on weekdays. read more

Went for the birria and we're not disappointed. Not the most flavorful birria I've ever had but I enjoy the birria ramen and our usual Taqueria doesn't offer the ramen, just the quesatacos. It's always busy here, been 4 times. They have a big menu. The dining room doesn't have much seating and we have had to wait for a place to sit. They have a salsa and condiments bar that is great. It's been a while since I've ventured out of my comfort zone to try new restaurants. El Indio reminds me of Don Pedro but even busier and more authentic. A Sunday afternoon is pretty busy. The line was almost out the door. We ordered at the register and waited at the large table we were able to get together by pulling empty tables and chairs together. It was hectic and crazy but we all eventually got our food. I ordered three tacos, a side of rice and some flan - definitely way too much food, but I couldn't resist. Everything tasted as authentic as the people in the restaurant - I'm pretty sure more than 90% of the diners spoke only Spanish, which is always a great sign. My tacos were hearty and tasty, the rice was just ok (it was pretty plain and bland, but fluffy), and the flan was rich and decadent. There was quite a bit of a wait but well worth it. Overall, El Indio is another authentic Mexican restaurant. If I'm ever in the area and craving tacos, I know that El Indio is a solid choice. read more

This place can fill up quickly depending on the hour. There are other options in the area that said not really sure why this place on several visits does so much buisness? The tacos are the smallest you will ever eat, at $1.30 sounds like a bargin right? Wrong. All tacos are served with cilantro, onions and limes unless requested otherwise. Know that size wise the circumference is of a small orange. Sopes can be ordered either chicken or beef served with tomatoes, lettuce and cheese. Know you will need to pick it up and eat it or ask for metal silverware to cut through these here. The plastic silverware just bends and cannot cut through the finished product. The dough is to thick and hard. Anyone following me knows I have a "thing" for sope I just don't enjoy them here. A small cart is out that has two different sauces a green and a red, pickled onions, radishes, carrots and peppers. read more

I drove almost 3 hrs to go to another restaurant but that one was closing soon and I really wanted to try some tacos y Birria quesa! So I opted for this place and boy was it good! The tacos was a good size I was pretty much full after two! The Birria was really good I will definitely be going back soon! Only bad thing was they were out of guacamole! Growing up in Southern California, I've eaten a ton of tacos in my life. Good ones are hard to find here in GA and this place does it right. The birria tacos are delicious! Make sure to stir the consommé and get all the goodness from the bottom. My husband had the al pastor tacos and really enjoyed them as well. This place is almost an hour from my home but worth the drive, we'll be back! read more

great mexican spot! as a New Yorker, I'm not a connoisseur when it comes to Mexican food so take this with a grain of salt. I had the barbacoa, steak, chicken and chorizo tacos along with an order of nachos supremos. Tacos: I really liked the Barbacoa and Chorizo Tacos. The Barbacoa was tender and juicy like chunks from a beef stew, the chorizo was a little charred that gave it a great flavor. The steak and chicken tacos were great too, i just felt barbacoa and chorizo here are special. nachos supremos: It's fine. really. I feel like this is the gringo or kids menu item when you don't know what to order and want to pick something safe. It's big and filling for $10.50 read more
