This place has stood the test of time.!!! I'm guessing 20 years, but it's just an average Mexican joint. The menu is large, but there are no vegetarian options. I feel like most Mexican take out places have a section now where grilled veggies or avocado is the star. If you don't want meat, ask to create your own food. I asked for a vegetarian burrito. I subbed sour cream for guac and added onions. The onions were gigantic, not diced. The rice is Mexican rice, red with corn and other veggies. It's bland. The whole burrito needs salt! It's was just under $7, so that's reasonable, but there are cheap ways to improve the product. You get one red, really HOT, and one green, bland, salsa with a to go order. My expectation of this place fell short leaving me an unfavorable taste in my mouth. The place appeared to be just like any other average Mexican restaurant. I ordered a burrito without beans, but still received them in my burrito and on my plate. They also drenched the burrito in tomato sauce, which was unexpected and disappointing. There are no refills and it was costly for the quality I received. Service was poor compared to average Mexican restaurant. You can expect the following: Pick up your own food, no free chips, and prices are not listed on the menu. The rice was meh. Should have went to El Faro. Screwed up my order & I paid $20 for chips & guac and a chimichanga. Disappointed... wanted beef & they gave me chicken! Ordered 4 tortas and they were dry with no beans won't go back and when I called to ask if he forgot or is this standard he said next time ask for more beans. Torta clearly is supposed to have beans on it. Customer service sucks read more

This place is pretty good, went there last night and got a chicken burrito, steak taco and a tamale all for under $9 The taco was great, a lot steak on it. The burrito was pretty good, and it was really big. I needed to add sour cream and guacamole. But everything tasted great. The tamale, I was not impressed. Very little meat. Other than that the staff was polite and fast. Glad this place is close to the house. If you are in the neighborhood, stop by. They have great selection of food. read more

There were only two workers. A lady at the register taking orders. Not friendly. They have huge menus on the wall, no prices. My fiancé ordered a steak burrito suizo, I ordered a steak burrito, our daughter had a chicken quesadilla and we had horchatas. Food was ready, the lady called us to the counter. Fiancés food came with rice and beans but he only ordered the burrito. The burritos were not "grande" they were fairly small. Burrito suizo only has cheese in the middle not melted throughly and drenched in tomato sauce? My fiancé is Mexican, we've never seen that before! He had a couple bites and bit into a rock?! He brought it up to the counter the cook came out and gave him $20, he apologized said to be careful eating the food because he thinks the rock came from the beans?! Our meal was $30. We left and all of us had a bad stomach ache. WHY WOULD YOU SERVE FOOD KNOWING THAT IT WAS BAD AND WAS A HEALTH OR SAFETY HAZARD?! If that rock ended up in my child's mouth I would have raised hell in this place!!! Please people do not ever eat here. I ordered steak tacos, was given beef and when I called back, they said they remembered clearly I ordered beef, even after I nicely pointed out that the receipt even said steak tacos. El Grande burrito is your typical strip mall fast food Mexican restaurant. The menu is on large signs on the walls with virtually every type of Mexican food offered. The widescreen TV is tuned to ESPN Deportes so if you speak Spanish and like soccer you are all set. The tables are Formica with wood trim and the chairs are typical vinyl style. Counters and stool seating are on either side of the restaurant. You order and pay at the counter and if you're having horchata there is a self serve dispenser out in the dining area marked no refills please. The food is very typical of many of the fast food, order at the counter Mexican restaurants in the area. You can't go wrong with tacos and the chicken and steak are especially good. My go-to meal for dinner is the Bisteak ala Mexicana. My favorite carry out is chicken enchiladas with green sauce and my wife's favorite is the chicken nachos. Big fan of this place....every time I'm home for lunch during the week I choose "The Big Burrito". The tacos are very good, but my new favorite thing on the menu is the Nacho Supreme with Steak...I also ask them to add a side of rice ON the nachos....so good! I've been there a few times, just not for me. Food is okay, there are better Mexican restaurants/carryouts in the area. The few times I have been there they have not been open when the sign says they are supposed to be open and calling ahead I've been told they are too busy and unable to take my order. I don't mind bad service, but when I cannot flat out order multiple times, I gotta ask myself if the food is worth it, and in this case, it is not. read more

This place is a little hidden gem! I'm surprised they have not grown into a larger restaurant. We could use a larger Mexican food restaurant in SE. Great food, flavor and the people that work there are just awesome. I always get the steak taco special and my wife gets the quesadilla. Love the Mandarin soda!
