Went here for a romantic dinner. My date asked for a glass of wine to go with his meal and left it to the waiter to choose. When the check came I noticed the glass of wine was the same price as our dinner entrees. So I asked the waiter, who got rather snotty and said "those are our prices!" I didn't really mind the price, just thought it seemed high ($20 for a glass) for Mexico. He brought the wine list to confirm the price. No problem. THEN he ran my credit card on the tableside swiper. This was after dark and there were tiki torches and a small candle on the table. When the waiter handed me the receipt for my signature, it was too dark to read. So he pulled out a flashlight and started shaking it rapidly around in the direction of where to sign. I still couldn't see the amount I was signing for, as it was faint ink, but it didn't look right. So I turned on my phone's flashlight onto the receipt to see that he had charged me not $2200 pesos but $22017.01 pesos. (Over $1000US!). I confirmed the error by checking my text notification from my bank. I looked at him and said "you've charged me $1000 for dinner". And he just rolled his eyes and grabbed the receipt and walked off with it. After a couple of minutes, he came back with a cancelled receipt and a new one with the correct amount. NO apology, no surprise or confusion about his error. I've been to this restaurant several times and always enjoyed my meal and the service. But the rapidly moving flashlight and the lack of remorse for such a huge overcharge made me suspicious. That's why I'm giving this review. I would give the food and atmosphere 5 stars. But the service 1 star. Diner beware! read more
