Stopped in after a day at the beach. We have found that the places on the beach seem to cater more toward people who come off of the cruise ships looking for food that is not too much of a departure from what you can get in the US. One place we were passing was trying to entice us with hamburgers and chicken wings. So we decided to leave that area in search of another place.
We sat at a table on the sidewalk and ordered margaritas and beers, of course, and a plate of Chuleta Minuta de Puerco to share. They have other Yucatán specialties like shark and other seWe have been finding that like in the US, portions are large and because we are here for a few days we don't want to have leftovers.
The entree is like a breaded tenderloin, fried served with papas fritas, a small salad of cabbage and beets, a serving of black beans and rice. A nice half loaf of bread that is like the po boy bread in New Orleans and a Yucatán habanero sauce that will light you up! The pork was tender and juicy:)
The owner was kind and patient with our ability to butcher Spanish.
