Sol Y Mar Seafood Restaurant. Progreso, MX

Such a cute restaurant. The food was Amazing. I had the shrimp Yucatan style. The sauce was so flavorful but not spicy. The best and most unique salad in Progreso. Not a typical lettuce and tomatoes but julienned vegetables with a very light dressing. Yum! Our waiter was very attentive but did not hoover around us. The Margarita was huge and delicious! The best part was they put out bowls of fresh water for the stray dogs & cats. Intermittently a dog would come by and sit and wait for the employee to come and give him his dinner. Wow! So happy to see this caring for the poor stray animals. You can donate money to help pay for the food! We'll be back!!

This place is amazing. I've already been here 4 times because it's that good (and I'm only here for 7 days total). Gabriel takes amazing care of his customers. Tequila shots on the house after our meals, and MULTIPLE complimentary snacks (fruit, popcorn, chips and salsa). The Giant pancake is amazing as well as everything else I've tried so far. Amazing atmosphere. Very passionate owner.

Best pico! Any recipe ideas to replicate for those of us in another country?

I'm not sure if this was considered pico (I think it was), or just the chip dip, but it was the best, freshest, thing to eat I've had in awhile! Loved it! Would love the actual recipe!!!

Progreso has a number of good restaurants to choose from. This is one of them. The spicy Mexican shrimp and chicken tacos were good and very reasonable. Best thing about it, two dollar beers :)

Very nice small nook in Progresso. Lovely service and fresh fruit juices. The waiter was sweet and very quick service. It's on the corner of Calle 25 and 78 avenues. Outside and inside seating plus bathrooms and wifi. Cerviche, burrito, breakfast and full bar! Enjoying our time in Progresso with some local cuisine!

    The specialty of the house!

Really tasty seafood, huge portions, ice cold drinks. It's a street off the main strip and nice and chill. Yelp map was correct, google map was wrong.

Great food and large potions. Just make sure to bring cash as credit cards are not accepted.

We stopped in just for drinks. I had 2 Margaritas and my partner had 2 Pina Colada. Both were delicious and had a kick to them

The Bars and Restaurants have tables on the street in a sidewalk cafe type setting. I have been stopping here on every trip to Progresso. The immediate place as you enter the street area, is Panco Villa Restaurant. You are greeted offer a menu along with the cost of the beverages, Margaritas 2 for $5 or beer for $1. I must say, the margaritas are made traditional, squeezed lime, triple sec, bar syrup, and tequila and in a real glass, not a plastic cup. I had several items to eat, one was the shrimp cocktail, Mexican style, very delicious and then I had the Devil Shrimp, sometimes referred to as Camarones el Diablo. They will prepare to any degree of heat that you want. So, if you are cruising through Progresso, give this place a stop for food or just a drink. Ask for Sergio.
