First of all, don't go in the lounge. The gal that "sometimes" stopped by was sooo rude and uninterested in customer service. We wanted a drink and food to go and it took way longer than nachos and a burrito should take. Food was mediocre at best. I have to say I have tried this place twice and both times I left feeling sick to my stomach. Not because of the food, although it is fair to middling at its best. The first time was about a year ago, we thought even back then the food was not worth the money. There was a toddler that seemed to be related to the people running the place that had a full diaper, she was running around and leaking poop, it was dribbling down her leg onto the carpet. I thought surely someone who worked there would notice, no one did. I pointed it out and they simply wiped the poop with a paper napkin. That's it, nothing else, no disinfectant or anything. Ew. I saw a restaurant.com coupon for a good price and I figured I'd give them another try. For as empty as the place was you'd think someone would have checked the bathroom. I took my 2 year old to use the facilities and there was a smeary thin layer of some sort of dried I don't know what on the toilet seat and no seat covers. Gag!! Grossed out again. Then after choking down the bland food when I went to use my restaurant.com coupon on my Dine in or out app on my iPhone the woman who was the manager(?) started yelling at me because she said I had to print it out and bring in the coupon. I tried to explain to her that the instructions were right there and I tried to give them to her but she started in about her not caring about restaurant.coms policy but her policy was this and that and the other and that her brother wouldn't believe her if she didn't have proof. Not really caring or listening to a thing I was saying. She finally called the phone number and gave them the code and it worked and reluctantly gave us our discount "this time". Believe me, there will never, ever, be another time because you couldn't pay me to go back there. The place should be shut down, it is disgusting. Sometimes you have to give a place a second chance and El Compadre is an example of that wisdom. In the disappointing selection of Mexican eateries we have in our coastal region, we had finally settled on Casa Del Sol in Seaside for when we are in S. Clatsop County and Plaza Jalisco for N. Clatsop County.....well Plaza Jalisco finally sunk to a level that was beyond supporting in our eyes. We needed a backup place for closer to home. Late on a Friday night and laziness prompted me into exercising some past forgiveness on a poor first impression and give El Compadre another shot. The place was pretty dead, but they were open and we were there. The first test --- chips and salsa. Warm, crisp, not homemade, but good. Salsa was flavourful and like I like it...saucy, not chunky. I don't mind salsa fresca on things, but I like to dip my chips in more of a sauce. So they passed the first test. Second test --- Iced tea. Fresh, and strong. Not that glorified kool-aid crap they try to pass of as tea. I am Irish and know tea, so don't pee in a cup and add fake fruit flavour and try to tell me its tea. So far so good. Now the food. Prices pretty good for what it is. Food was flavourful and typical for the Mexican food they offer in these parts. Pre-made taco shells, reddish meat, greasy, and out of a can or a box. Pretty much like a Taco Bell with table service and all you can eat chips and salsa really. Tortillas are damn cheap, as is canola oil....why can't places fry their own chips and make their taco shells fresh?? I have been to many places that can and do? For some reason, places are so damn lazy in their food quality and prep. Just so frustrating. I would be ashamed if I were of Mexican heritage and served that pre-fab junk. Service was attentive and friendly. So for now, we have our spot for "Mexican" food. Still waiting for something better to come along, but with little hope. read more

Great prices, the meal I had was just average. To have a Mexican restaurant in Warrenton is a big deal though. Salsa was all right.

I recently moved to Warrenton and came to the place for dinner with the hubby because we love Mexican food. The place is nicely decorated, but the food was awful. I ordered chicken tacos and received beef. Then when the chicken did come it had little favor (no spices) and was already getting cold and had too much lettuces on it. Plus, the taco was overly wet and leaked water down my arm. The beans were overcooked and dry and tasted like they had been out all day under a heat lamp. The rice was also dry with little favoring. Plus the waitress wasn't very friendly or outgoing. And when we started to eat our meals, she decided it was a good time to vacuum the carpet right next to our table - very annoying. When I complained to the manager (who had very heavy eye make up on which was distracting), she told the waitress to refund my meal, but she never apologized or seemed to care about my dinning experience or that I said I won't be back. I would not recommend this place for food. A frozen stouffers meal microwaved at home is better then this place and cheaper too. read more

Loved the cheese enchilada with green sauce, Salsa was good and loved the guacamole. I'm from AZ and recently moved to the area..I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find good Mexican food, but I love this place. Service was great too! Very nice people. read more

I love this place! Hands down my favorite Mexican food restaurant in the area:) the servers are amazing and always on point and I've never left unsatisfied! I go at least once a week with my roommate and we are obsessed with their food. It's not over priced and you will not be disappointed. read more

Very disappointing. I asked for a refund. I called in an order, arrived, paid and sat by the door to wait. Apparently I miss understood the lady when she said "They are putting your order together, I will bring it out". She walked away and no one, not even the cashier standing there asked or suggested I wait outside. I had a mask on and just sat to wait for my food. This lady, a customer outside told me her name was Maria, comes out with my order and with so much rudeness told me "Next time you need to wait outside! I told you I would bring you your order!" I apologized and told her I misunderstood and she still kept coming at me angry and telling me I could get her shut down. I walked outside, got in my car, sat there for a second and called and complained. I just asked for a refund and told them they could keep there food! It's ridiculous to treat your customers like that. And don't assume everyone knows your rules. Put up a sign or actually speak the words "If you could wait outside, we will bring your food to you" I wish I could give less than 1 star. And what is funny is some family walked in and the man did not even have a mask on, there is a sign for that and she seated them and treated them so well. I can only assume because they were not of color like me. I would never set a foot back on there ever! read more

Return visit- it is trending down. Pollo asado was very dry. Chicken enchilada ordered but beef was brought-so glad I checked it prior to eating. Salsa is the ketchup like kind. I spent mucho anos in Tejas so maybe I'm longing for more authentic Mexican food. Wait staff friendly enough. read more

Yeah, I am a Mexican from Arizona...so I guess that sets a high standard for what I expect from Mexican restaurants. I moved here about a year ago and tried Compadre Restaurant for the first time since my move. I was excited to have a Mexican restaurant so close to me, but sadly after my visit I do not think that I will be visiting again. I first ordered a Cheese Crispy. The cheese was the only good part. It was fried onto a really thick tortilla, it was then that I thought "oh no, what have I gotten myself into." The tortilla was so thick and odd tasting that I could not really enjoy the cheese cripsy. I ordered the 7 mares (a seafood dish with several different types of seafood in it) and the...I don't even know the name but it came with steak, beans and rice as well as a side of tortillas. To start with the tortillas are awful! Which is probably why I did not enjoy the cheese crispy. They taste like the rubbery kinds of tortillas that you can buy at the grocery store. Definitely not authentic. The meat was bland, the rice was dry and the beans did nothing for me. I hoped that the 7 Mares would fare better. Sadly it did not. The sea food was minimal and the veggies that were in it were cut so big that it was as if they just bought a bag of thick cut veggies from Cash and Carry and threw them in. I mean come on the carrots were like the size of what you would find at a bar as the side order to some hot wings. On top of that, the broth was so plain that I had to add tons of cilantro, salt, pepper, onion and lime for it to have any flavor at all. Good thing they give you plenty of that on the side. I know everyone's taste buds differ so if you like it here great. But for my husband and I, we definitely will not be visiting again. read more

I have no complaints about the food, BUT When I used the restroom I noticed that there was a garbage can IN the men's room stall. This might not seem like a big deal unless you are aware that in Mexico, people do not flush toilet paper down the toilet. Apparently, the manager himself did not know that it is allowable to flush T.P. in los Estados Unidos, or his customers have asked him one too many times where the garbage can is. This can was full of toilet paper with skid marks. That grossed me out. Made me want to suggest a sign to other customers that it is OK to flush toilet paper down the toilet. read more
