Delicious saltado de pollo and buffet
    Rachael B.

Let me tell you! Before I even GET to the food! This man is the sweetest giving human. To top it off, he's a distinguished chef. He is apart of an awesome foundation supporting women and children, Make A Wish Foundation, and does so much in his community including free vendor events. I would have never thought to come in without a friend's recommendation when I asked for Peruvian food. It's in a run down shopping center. But when we walked in, we were welcomed with a smile, convo, and a great buffet. I had a taste for Saltado de Pollo and he made it to order. All tasted fresh and like some good ol home cooking! Tender, tasty, and the sauces were delicious. He treated us to the iced tea. It was just sweet enough and refreshing. We had plenty of food leftover. He treated us to a lot, but I don't want anyone to expect the same treatment, but I wouldn't be surprised. This place isn't for the non-hungry introvert, but for everyone else that love diamonds in the rough and really supporting local. The man has stories for days! We heard he may ask what you like and create some thing, but I just had to be firm with my saltado pollo. He got us to add a buffet and we didn't regret it. This is a solid restaurant for a home cooked meal the entire family will love. He'll take card, cash, cashapp, venmo and you'll most likely leave with more food than you planned. I JUST finished my last leg today and the rice with the delicious sauces yesterday and this is day 3 of leftovers. All I ask is that you tip him well and fairly. I'm posting a pic of his work at his foundation. Lmk if you go!!! And be prepared for a little chat :-)

This is probably the best meal I've had in years! Flavors are perfectly melded together. You won't find a better Peruvian, Cuban and Puerto Rica restaurant even if you go to Miami! But no need to anywhere but this quaint and delicious restaurant in SA! Chef Waldito is an absolute delight. He was attentive and a joy to be around. Especially loved the mussel soup. At the end he made for us, from scratch, dessert. You will feel like you have been welcomed into Chef Waldo's home for a meal.

    Buffet

The food was fantastic! We did the $12 buffet and ate chicken quarters and pork with rice, lentils, plantains, tomatoes and more. The iced tea was amazing, and the chef was possibly the friendliest I've ever met. He made us welcome and shared his story with us in a way that was incredibly heartwarming. This was an experience I'll never forget, and we will be returning.

The owner is so welcoming, good customer service. The food was just ok, I came during lunch time, buffet, chicken, rice and soup.

The food and service were great! We sat in the back patio and the weather was great for it, we will definitely be back!

Wow wow wow I had had such a great experience here. From…read morethe service to the food everything was a 10/10 I sat alone at the ceviche bar Saturday afternoon before the rush came in. I had no reservation but I would definitely recommend booking a reservation to secure a spot Parking is very limited, but there is street parking available To start I got the Texas oysters which comes with their seasonal leche de tigre drizzled in olive oil. It was so good I got two orders. Chef Santi was amazing at explaining the ingredients that go into the dish and also went into detail about how they source their oysters For another app I order the skewer de pulpo (octopus), I was blown away! Legitimately the most tender octopus I've ever had in my life. Chef Santi did an amazing job explaining to me how they prep and cook their octopus. I kid you not, very tender 10/10 I was recommended the Tataki Ceviche by one of the chefs. And wow, the way all the flavors blended so well together surprised me. The peanuts really elevated the dish, and execution was beautiful! I sipped up the bowl after I finished. You can tell they really take their time with each dish. For dessert I ordered Terremoto. Very rich with cacao, I don't think I've ever had such a rich chocolate dish before. If you do not like dark chocolate, this dessert is not for you. The ice cream that came with it was so delectable. You can tell by tasting this dish they really really really put their all when it comes to ingredients and execution. I was very impressed with my experience here. If you are ever in San Antonio area and love fresh seafood. Highly, and I mean HIGHLY recommend checking this spot out. They have bar seating, indoor seating, as well as patio seating. Reservations highly encouraged

We were seated right away but it was about 15 mins before someone came to our table to greet us and provide water. Once we ordered the waiter was very attentive. She provided us a palette cleanser (the spoons) which tasted like a lemon spice. It was really nice but had a kick at the end. We also ordered the probiotic appetizer which was gut healthy fermented veg. I wasn't a big fan of it, but my friend loved it. We also ordered the cilantro coconut guacamole and corn tortillas. This was very interesting! I've never had fruit in my guacamole. I loved it. And the corn tortillas were fresh and homemade. Next, I ordered a saffron date golden milk. They offer this hot or chilled. I got the chilled version. This is to die for if I could drink this every day I would. It is very comforting and as you drinking it, you get this like warmth all over. The spices are very balanced and it comes with oat milk so it's creamy. For the meal I order the akaushi beef tacos. Which was Barbacoa over a cashew cream trust with fermented, cabbage, and cilantro. It also comes with a side of salsa. These tacos were very filling and delicious. The flavors pair up so well. I did add some of the gauc to it for a more creamer taste. Overall, the food experience was a 10 out of 10. I am gluten-free and the whole restaurant is 100% gluten-free! They have vegetarian options and from what I could see also dairy free. If you're trying to expand your taste buds, this is definitely a place to try. The only thing I didn't like was the chairs lol the edge of it was so uncomfortable because it was putting pressure into my legs my friend said the same thing with her chair.

Couldn't ask for a better meal to close a not so good week. I feel a great meal, with great company can lift your spirits. Man I needed it. Where do we begin. The Inca Cola was awesome. We don't normally drink soda, but the very sweet older gentleman taking our order recommended it. Even the diet one was great. There were other drinks available, and they will even bring you samples if you're not sure! We had Chaufe de Pollo, Bistec a lo pobre, and Tallarin verde. Each plate, even the simple ones, was simply well executed. I will start with the Tallarin Verde. The meat was tender, and the pasta was cooked al dente. It's not quite Italian pesto, and leans a bit more to chimichuri. Not a bad thing, but it worked so well! The beef was slightly under seasoned. Just a tad. The chaufa de pollo, is labeled as fried rice. You think like chinsese fried rice. Yes and no. Just like the amazing fried rice at Himalaya, it's different enough to be appreciated. It had a more toasted flavor, and not as greasy. Great flavor too. It's great when mixed with the surprising star of the meal. The aji verde sauce. We had to order more three times. It's semi sweet and cooling, but with a kick that builds up. Mixed with the rice, and on top of all the meals, leveled up all the dishes. Not ashamed to say we bought some of the sauce to take home. The last dish was just a simple dish executed to perfection. The egg was just right, and cut the yolk on the steak and wow! Can't say it any better. None of us are fans of fried plantain, but we loved it here. I don't know what they did different, here it was the best we've had. The fries were better than normal. The gripes, because no place is perfect... The plain white rice they served on the bistec a lo pobre, was just plain white rice. I mean it added nothing to the dish. Also the bistec again was a bit under seasoned as well. We can't wait to come back and try more dishes! Def recommend!
