There fries are never done even when I asked for them to be extra done also they never have any good flavors of JARRITOS.the service was a little slow but it was still pretty good. Over all the mood in the room was great. Not pricey would come again. read more

This is the place to go to bring friends or family. I love Mexican food, and this certainly isn't California/Arizona/Texas-level Mexican food, but it's really good for rural Michigan. The servers are always willing to work with me, as I have allergies. Their portions are also a good size and served on huge plates. read more

The food is amazing. Especially their burritos. The service is great. Very nice atmosphere. Reasonable.

Everything was horrible. From the service to the food. It was dry and bland ground beef in a microwave burrito.

If you've ever had REAL Mexican food from Mexico, California, or Texas and that's what you're expecting then I wouldn't eat here. The burritos are terrible. The beans and rice are not good. My husband said his tamale was tolerable. Even the chips didn't taste very good. My husband and I ordered lunch. I ordered a meal with what I thought was a bean burrito to go. Turns out it was beef. It tasted worse than what you get at Taco Bell. We will not be back. read more

The margarita tower is to die for. An absolute necessity for a fun evening in Hillsdale. Won't ever say no to free chips either.

The service was slow - we didn't have anywhere to be but it would be a problem if you only had 1 hour for lunch. The food was American Mexican. Lots of cheese and flour tortillas. Mehhhh not my fav. read more

4 stars for decent Mexican in midwest Michigan. Passing through we had a recommendation for dinner on a Monday night. Fajita salad and fajita tacos worked. Great service. Interior is well done in this strip mall restaurant. Place was busy with locals. Prefer corn tortillas that did not seem to be offered. On our way west but this is a good stop. read more

Awful. Not only is the food absolutely bland, with no flavor. But when they make something incorrectly and you call to have it replaced they are so rude. It's like businesses anymore don't even act like the customer matters, it's like they can be rude and act like your the issue. I will never ever come here again. Hillsdale should definitely invest into opening more restaurants that are actually worth the money. read more

use to be hood a fee yrs ago! not now left w an awful meal & cut down on plates & chges more!

Everything here is always consistent. Their chips and salsa are really good. I love their street tacos which are only a couple bucks each. Their service is always good and I've eaten here several times and been perfectly satisfied. Probably one of the best places to eat in Hillsdale. read more

The food is always excellent. The workers are always very personable and nice. Love the atmosphere. My granddaughter always has to dance a litter. read more

Place is def a castle of a Mexican restaurant. Got some grub to go one day and the guy working in the front I think his name is kaleb was an absolute G. I will definitely be going back. read more

This restaurant is typical of the food offered here in Hillsdale. It is a charming spot and the food is serviceable but by no means authentic Mexican food. It is Mexican food in the same way Olive Garden is Italian. They have the typical decor and they have items on the menu that sound like they should be representative of Mexican food...and then you taste it and are left wondering what went wrong. I have eaten here perhaps ten times and each time I wonder why I bother. The orders are frequently delivered to the table missing some aspect of what it was you actually ordered. The wait staff is pleasant if not detached and distracted. Once again it is not a bad restaurant it is just mostly a blah experience. read more

Waited 30 mins for a server to finally come got our drinks wrong then i got the wrong food. Didnt bother complaining didn't want to wait another hour. read more

Went with a group of 18 people, they were 70% capacity and not one complaint in our group!

To be fair, we are from the west. We have had the best Mex food in the West. This is bland weird "Mexican" food. I knew as soon as I tasted the salsa what to expect. They must use MSG cuz I had a reaction. Servers are very nice tho. read more

Most recent meals seemed blander! They changed prices, ONLY the in store menu reflects the changed price, thus the online menu and previous take home version of their menu are out of date, so be aware that what you pay will be MORE ($2 a meal). read more

It's ok. Place is clean. I got the steak burrito and it was dry overcooked steak. Everything else was decent. I'll probably be back, but nothing stand out. read more

Absolutely loved the food here it was authentic and that's a lot to say for someone from Texas which basically has a tex-next restaurant at every corner. We came to vacation and we loved this place the food was always warm and cooked just right. And the waiters were super nice. Highly recommend. read more

The main draw for El Cerrito is that it is really the only Mexican joint in town. Fortunately, it redeems itself, with a few quirks. My girlfriend adores this place, and at one point I ate here nearly once a week for 3 months. My wallet didn't complain ($6-$10/person) nor did my stomach. My favorites are the Chimichanga, with a crispy deep-fried shell, and the Burrito Grande (extremely large). The menu is a bit odd - if you order a chile relleno, you will receive huevos rancheros... but they are consistently wrong on this. Simply ordering a chile poblano will remedy the situation. Most dishes are served with the generic (and somewhat bland) beans and rice that would be expected of any old Mexican restaurant. One highlight - the salsa here is fresh and DIVINE. They load it with fresh cilantro and the flavor is remarkable. The chips are fresh and usually cooked correctly. Recommended. read more

Here for lunch with mom again. I don't know what it is about the cheese steak here. It seems to me that it tastes better every time I eat it. =} read more

I am very disappointed in El Cerrito today.... I went in before the church crowd at 11:55am .... by 12:20 I still had not been waited on... they finally brought my chips and salsa after about 10 minutes of arriving... but still no service after that. I did offer to pay for my chips and salsa before I left.... they offered to get me something to go... which insulted me.... if I wanted it to go I would not have waited for service inside.... they also offered me a gift certificate... I declined because I won't be going back for a quite awhile read more

We went here for Mothers Day. The service was phenomenal. We received our food very quickly. Everything was delicious. We highly recommend the cheesecake chimichanga for dessert. It was so good and the perfect size after our meal. We would definitely return to this restaurant. Great service, delicious food, and reasonably priced. read more

The food is alright, but be careful paying with card there. They overcharged my card over $200, and while I did get my money back it was a major inconvenience and they were pretty rude throughout the entire ordeal. Overall, the food is ok but not worth the risk. read more

This is one of my favorite local places to eat, the food is always good, service is fast and the help is pleasant. Always good to get the chimichanga, and their fajitas are spectacular! read more

When we ordered, we were told they it would be about 15 minutes. Although they were not particularly busy, our food finally arrived over 45 minutes later, and was cold. It obviously had been sitting somewhere for many minutes. Two of the four orders were wrong (beef instead of chicken) and sides were missing, but by then, people weren't going to send it back and start the wait anew. The server said the order had gotten "lost", and was pleasant but unapologetic. A very frustrating and unsatisfactory experience. read more

Fairly below average Mexican food, if used to good Mexican. Most items are very bland. Never leave feeling satisfied.

Love the fajitas. Prices are pretty reasonable & waiters are always friendly. Your served free chips & salsa when you first arrive.

Good food, service is ok. Prices have gone up a ton in the last couple of years, which is somewhat understandable. read more

The best meal in Hillsdale hands down! Fast service, friendly staff, great drinks and absolutely awesome food.

Worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant... We were over charged $12 on our order! We we're laughed at when we asked about the price.... Then laughed at again to add insult to injury. They obviously knew their online menu was wrong previous to my order. It was worse to find the person handling front counter also handling food prep. I do not trust the food we purchased for carry out. The staff was handling their personal phones then getting food out. There was no hand washing going on... NASTY, DIRTY, DISRESPECTFUL AND HATEFUL WITH NO REMORSE! TOLD US TO GET OUT!!?? read more

Food good but waiter had to be hailed twice And rest room with torn off wall towel Dispenser not so clean read more

My favorite Mexican restaurant in Hillsdale! The food is always delicious and the portions are big. The beef burritos are made with real beef chunks not ground hamburger. My favorite is the burrito mexicano. YUMMILICIOUS! The guacamole is to die for and the chips are plentiful. The best way to end a scrumptious meal is fried ice cream!! What a treat! read more

LOVE el cerrito!! great for birthdays and going with a bunch of friends. they will give you as much chips and salsa as you can possibly eat, and the main dishes are really good too! would recommend the queso and taco salad. great place for a cheap date that will still impress! read more

The food was really good but I only gave the restaurant 4 stars because they use a processed, shredded cheese. Muenster or something equivalent would be so much better. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Great atmosphere and decor. Loved the chips and the salsa (although I found the salsa a little too salty). The horchata was great and it came in a very large glass mug. My wife had the chorizo omelette and I had the lunch special #1. I will definitely go back and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves Mexican food. read more

Newly expanded to handle the Rush crowd. Hardly ever a wait to be seated. Big menu and nothing has disappointed. They are fast with the chips and salsa as you are seated. The waitstaff is swift and the food does not disappoint. Check them out. read more

My Carne Asada very good. Good service and large portion child plates. 5 kids and 4 adults all happy.

This is great Tex-Mex! I've never had anything I didn't like. Only down side is that every time I get company, they demand to hit El Cerrito's, so I can't eat here in between visits! Don't want to get sick of eating here! ;-) read more

Always great service and great food. Salsa is always fresh and the chicken tacos are fantastic. Definitely recommend trying it out. It's nice to have such a good restaurant in our small community. read more
