They have yummy yummy yummy street tacos made exactly the way they should be cilantro and onions meat of your choice. Always perfect. The place has a great view of the Lake James chain bridge between James and Jimmerson. One of my other super favorite things here is they have the best Arros co polo. This is one of my favorite restaurants to go to when I'm in the area for a trip! The service is incredibly friendly and efficient, but do expect a bit of a wait if you're going any time after 5, especially on weekends! Could take a bit to get seated but service from that point on is quick! As far as the exterior of the building goes, there is outdoor seating available which is a nice option for the nice area the restaurant is located in. The outside is very vibrant and inviting! Same goes for the inside, bright colors, inviting atmosphere and some great music! Lastly...the food. This is some of my favorite Mexican food I've ever had! Pretty good Mexican food for the area. We were hungry at the time of visit and got there after a long day of traveling. There's indoor, bar and outdoor seating. The margarita sizes are pretty big. Chips, salsa and guacamole were pretty good. Got the chicken fajita and Tijuana enchilada, both were Aok. We also got the barbecued chicken which didn't seem barbecued at all. This place is one of my favorite places for Mexican food. I ordered the steak fajitas with extra veggies. So so good. And the chips and salsa are hard to stop eating. We moved back from Arizona and couldn't wait to go back here. Such a disappointment. Service was extremely slow but when we ordered, the food came out fast and I mean FAST. The peppers and onions we had were so greasy they were almost inedible. I can tell that none of this food is really cooked to order. I am sure all the meat and veggies are just held in warmers and thrown together when ordered. Really seems to have gone down since we were here last time. read more

We rented a lake house and boat on Hamilton Lake. This is one of the only restaurants you can pull your boat up to. We docked easily. They offered us seating outside or inside. Outside includes open air and a screened porch. We opted for inside and sat in a large booth. We had friendly, attentive service even though we were only ordering drinks. We ordered the queso as an extra and everyone really enjoyed its mild spicy flavor. A friend and I split a margarita pitcher. The margarita had food flavor. Usually I complain there is not enough salt on the rim; this time I would say it was almost too much but it was easy to scrape a little off. If we come back to this lake, we would definitely come back here to try more of the food (and more margs). read more

Not a lot of fine dining establishments in Angola. We came here since I was willing to test my digestive abilities with some spicy Mexican food again. Someone in our group started by ordering some of the homemade tomatillo sauce to go with the homemade salsa and chips to get started. Everyone in our group also got one of their Texas margaritas. I opted for a large one, which is the size of a fishbowl. It's a good thing, because the homemade salsa with the tomatillo sauce and chips tasted great, but boy did the heat build up in my mouth and I sucked down that large margarita. For my meal, I ordered enchiladas de La Casa stuffed with cheese, which is an incredible dish for this cheese lover. Even though I was sweating from the tomatillo sauce, I poured some more on top of my enchiladas, because it just tasted so good. After finishing my second Texas margarita I don't remember too much after that. I woke up this morning and wow did I pay the price for all that tomatillo sauce. read more

After hearing about this place the last few years from the "lake crowd" I accepted an invitation to go out to eat at the Acapulco Grill and it did not disapoint in service, atmosphere, or food. Was part of a group of four on a Friday night, we had about a twenty minute wait to get seated on their patio, and we got our drinks and food in less time than it took to get seated. Our waiter was fast, friendly, and attentive. The food is your basic, traditional, Mexican/Tex-Mex fair. I say that not as a complaint, but as someone who has lived in the city and traveled extensively and sampled a lot of Mexican fusion dishes and entrees. I got the basic carne asada and it was cooked well and spiced right. Our table loved the house made chips and I thought the home made salsa was outstanding. Others got chicken and steak fajita dinners and the chimmichonga that they all enjoyed. I thought the rice was pretty bland but that tends to be the case at most Mexican restraunts I have been to. I thought the prices are pretty fare and mention for those who are expecting to get a meal here for the same amount they would spend at Taco Bell. (hint. that is not going to happen.) Overall a great a experience from beginning to end and I have no problems recommending Acapulcos to anyone living, visiting, or traveling through the tri-state area. read more

Stopped here for bite on way to Chicago. It is approximately 8 miles/12 minutes off of the turnpike. It is a casual Mexican restaurant decorated in traditional tacky decor. And I like that. There is a patio, margaritas & coronas. And I like all of that too. I had the crab/shrimp enchiladas (Enchiladas Del Puerto) and they were very good. As were my wife's beef burrito and taco that I tasted. It was busy because they also had a Sunday buffet going on but the service was excellent. read more

Definitely not authentic Mexican food. Food wasn't great, but edible for a Mexican restaurant located where it is. Horchata was good. Beans tasted as if they were canned. Enchiladas were barely warm and way too salty. Salsa for chips also tasted canned, not made in-house. Food came suspiciously quick. Rice was meh, and meat for the burrito looked way to dark. This is more authentic Mexican food than most Mexican restaurants I've come across. Extensive menu, with lots of different options for creating your meal. Of note, the Queso Dip is outstanding. The salsa is good and fresh, a tad spicier than I like. All the main dishes I've had have been good or above. Particularly enjoy the enchiladas. Guacamole is spicy, not mild. I drove 2 hours to get here today because my Hoosier friend loves this restaurant so much, and was not disappointed. Complementary chips and salsa, queso dip, shrimp chimichanga, beans and rice, guacamole: all delicious. The menu is quite large, and has some healthier options too. Service was courteous and prompt, and the ambience is completely adorable. They have really gone all-out with colorful tile, original paintings, and antiqued wood furniture, from floor to ceiling. There is also an old-timey donut shop right next door. I highly recommend a visit to both! read more

We ordered take out from this place and they gave us a ton of food! FYI, their website directs u to Cebolla's Mexican Grill, which they are a part of. We ordered the beans, beef and cheese nachos, enchiladas and the tacos de carne asada. They gave use 2 bags or tortilla chips and 3 mini cups of salsa with our order. Talk about great Mexican food, they taco de carne asade was great, the meat was cooked to perfection, only grip was they didn't cut the meat, it was several big long slabs. I didn't try my wife's enchiladas but she cashed it. As for the nachos, it was one of the best i've had in a long time along with their in house salsas. The nachos are a must try. Unfortunately, this stop was on our road trip so most likely we'll never eat here again. read more

Our bachelorette party weekend started off with dinner at Acapulco. When we got there we were told there was a 45 minute wait. Lucky for us we were able to secure some seats at the bar and enjoy some adult beverages before our table opened up. The bar was really dirty and the bartender was kind of rude but the drinks were HUGE and not priced outrageously so that made up for it. When our table was ready we sat down and ordered. I thought it was very courteous of our waiter to offer separate checks. It made things easier for everyone. I ordered a chicken taco and a chicken enchilada with beans and rice. The food was ok, it's not the best Mexican food I've ever had but it wasn't bad. read more
