the interior of a mexican restaurant

Super cool looking inside! Sorry not pictures of the amazing food. We were to hungry and just started eating. Had a class margarita, glad I got the small it was nice and strong. We had the chips and cheese appetizer. We both got the Taco's asada. 3 great steak tacos and rice. The staff was amazing and very helpful.

We were driving east this evening and needed a quick dinner. Casa Azteca was really amazing! Even though it was fairly close to closing, the staff was really nice and accommodating. We ordered Carne Amado tacos and the carnitas dinner. Both dinners were winners! Interior decor was exactly what you'd expect with some cool additions of Aztec style wall decorations and faux balconies. The bar looked well stocked and had some big screens for any games. I DEFINITELY recommend this spot!

Had an "average" experience. Nothing spectacular, but wasn't terrible either. Did think they have very reasonable prices. Enjoyed the queso dip to start but it was kinda cold. The amount of food on the plates was more than enough but lacked a little flavor in our opinion. My husbands Carne Asada was so thin and rubbery he could barely cut through it. Rice and beans were tasty though! The service was great though I will say!

We stopped through on our way to West Virginia. We were seated promptly. The waiter came over fairly fast. We ordered our food and I was extremely disappointed. I ordered shrimp tacos, each taco had 3 shrimp on a corn tortilla. Nothing else. My sides of tomatoes and cheese came in small side cups like you would use for dressing. Good thing I ordered a side of beans to eat with my shrimp and tortilla chips. My husband's carnitas were dry and the portion was not large either. The salsa was bland. Glad we were just stopping through because we would not be coming back here to the cuisine.

We love some Mexican food! Seriously, we love it!! And this place is one of our favorites! Call me silly, but this place is just unique! From delicious margaritas served in mugs to actually serving Birria Tacos to serving fajita salads with a berry vinaigrette, this place is just different from EVERY other Mexican restaurant in Northeast Indiana! We have eaten here many, many times and we have NEVER had a bad experience. The servers are polite and helpful, the service time is always fast, and the food and drinks are great! Definitely will be back! Again and again and again!

GREASE Birria tacos

I have eaten there multiple times but this time was the worst ! I ordered the briira tacos because I have never tried them before and the picture looked like it would be good. HUGE mistake! Grease grease grease. Then to top it off when I brought my concern to the waiter and to the girl that I paid my check to neither one of them cared. Not even a sorry. I will not go back AND I will tell everyone I know

Visited Casa Azteca on its 2nd day open for lunch. Was pleasantly surprised on how they transformed the original space. Great atmosphere and decor. The staff was friendly and accommodating. My husband asked for hot sauce with our chips and salsa and they brought him a homemade HOT sauce that he loved! He ordered the lunch chicken fajita burrito. He said it was delicious. I had the Seafood Chimichangas. It was great! Rice was fresh! Was able to get in and out in under an hour so it's great for lunch! We will go back!

Waiting for this place to open for months & finally got in to try them for lunch today on our day off. Having only lived in the area for a year, we had very high hopes set for another Mexican restaurant. The decor is fabulous & showy with high ceilings, Aztecan decoration, and loud tech-ish music. A far cry from traditional Tejano on the overhead that is loud enough to to hear but not be obtrusive. I'm no prude having spend 98% of my working life in and around the music industry, but this was just a bit of overkill. Our party found it a bit difficult to carry a conversation without raised voices. The menu was narrow compaired to every other Mex place I've eaten at & the prices were a bit on the high side IMO. After parusing through the menu, we ordered water plus 2 in our party (including myself) asked about a pitcher of Margs. Sad day....only sold in 16oz or 22oz. NO PITCHERS. I'm not going to lie on the sadness that took over my being. I am a Margarita snob. If it doesn't take the edge off in ONE DRINK...it sucks. I bit the bullet & ordered the 22oz Cuervo Texas Margarita at $13.75 even though they add orange juice along with the Grand Marinier into the drink. When the drinks arrived in a 22oz Beer Stein garnished with a lime, orange slice & a fancy little doo-dad of a twisty straw cover, I knew I had walked into the latest trendy foo-foo meant to impress with presentation. Nice job but how does it TASTE? For $13.75 it better make me want to do a dance on the table & make me question my driving skills on the way home. Well folks....for $13.75 I can get a FIFTH of Cuervo Gold and make my own. It fell flat & very short of the classic Texas Golden Margarita we snobs long for. TOO MUCH ORANGE JUICE! Epic Fail. The chips & salsa were nothing special. Chips were of the thicker darker corn variety & the salsa had zero kick. Fresh but BLAND. No additional sauces, sugar/sugar substitutes or napkins were offered at the table. For eats, I decided to go with the chicken lunch fajita. The $9 LUNCH FAJITA. I mean WHAT can go wrong with a fajita? Pretty simple & to the point, right? When the food arrived, the presentation was stellar. The food was plated on white square plates (all the rage in those trendy places). What you don't see is the QUANTITY offered like 98% of Mexican restaurants do....and not like the heritage Lake place. ;) The fajitas were hot, but lacked FLAVOR. I dont salt anything and the chicken had no pop, zest or flavor whatsoever. What gives? The beans were seasoned nicely and the rice was overcooked and mushy. But it looked all cute when served up looking loke it was pressed into a measuring cup & unmolded onto the plate. A drizzle of sour cream across the lettuce & pico wasn't enough to satisfy this fajita eating gringo. Oh, and the water? What tributary in Hades did that get dredged from? Or is that regular Angola water? Ack. All in all, 2 drinks, 2 lunch menu meals & one regular menu meal....$57 & some chump change later we left really let down. We'll stick with the watering hole on the Lake who may not have all the latest trendy looks, but offers larger portions for the prices, is consistent every time we're there & has the best Texas Margs by the PITCHER ($23) North of Ft. Wayne.

The food was delicious. The service was excellent. The margaritas were very strong in a good way. I would suggest the Birria tacos!
