Cheeseburger and fries
Brandy S.

This may seem crazy to post but they have the best Cheeseburger in town! I know I know..... you come here to eat Mexican and I hear that's great too. We love the owners, managers and staff but this is one of my personal favorites. The rest of the food is ok too but.... this.... Yes!

Combination #1 with rice, crispy beef taco, 1 cheese enchilada , 1 ground beef enchilada.

My mother recently moved to the Winder area from south Texas. She asked her nurse at Braselton hospital where the best Mexican food was in the Winder area and he recommended El Cazuelon and we're happy he did!! We ate there 4/1/24 at 5:00 PM. What a great, family owned establishment with friendly staff, clean and comfortable dining area, an extensive menu, and pretty incredible, complimentary tortilla chips and 2 different table salsas; all excellent, fresh and flavorful. Mom and I enjoy basic fare, she ordered 1 cheese enchilada and a side of rice, and I got the combination #1, with a crispy beef taco, a choice of rice or beans, I went with the rice, and 1 beef enchilada and 1 cheese enchilada. Also had a sweet tea and Coke Zero. Their sweet tea is incredible, very fresh, well made, Ice cold and perfect. My soda was crisp, bubbly and with just the right ratio of syrup. Our server Henry was prompt and kept our drinks topped off. Salsa was tasty, cold, chips warm and fresh, their orange colored chipotle salsa is fantastic. The crispy beef taco was very well seasoned, shell was fresh, lettuce crisp, with hefty amounts of shredded white cheese. The enchiladas sported thin and tender, soft corn tortillas, and the white cheese and beef fillings were hot and amply filled. We both really enjoyed their enchilada sauce. Mother even said next time she may need a side of enchilada sauce it was so good. A gentleman was at their extensive bar and was enjoying one of their many on tap beers. He noted the beer was ice cold and delicious. Their menu is very extensive and they had many great looking mixed drinks and margaritas we will have to try when we visit again. I was told they opened 6 years ago, so these people know what they are doing and area great at it. Look at my attached pics from todays visit, we will definitely be back!!

Tacos (2 steak / 1 chicken)

First time here and we loved it. It's super clean inside and the service was great. I got the tacos and loved them. The corn tortillas were so good and I don't normally like corn. My husband and brother both enjoyed the lunch fajita as well. We will be back!

I thought because this place had a 5star rating this was going to really be awesome. If your Spanish you know this ain't it.. there was five of us eating and everyone had something negative to say about their meal.. I'm not going to break down every dish but again no one was impressed. That's just the food aspect which to me is 75-80% of the experience. The decor was nothing to write about so I leave that there. The service was horrible very inattentive sometimes the food can be okay but with some good service it will definitely help out or balance the dinning experience but both were equally not to industry standards to say the least... not 5star, noway this rating was given by people who know Spanish food.

This is the place to be!! Name it and he can make it! Thanks for the great food. Great food, great people and they have Modelo Negra beer on draft, what more can you ask for?? Go by and see pictures of the new baby!

Enchiladas de mole

Our usual favorite place for Mexican cuisine was packed to the brim, and we'd spotted this one on our way. It's small and in a spot easily looked over - we never even really saw that it was a restaurant! But I must say, we have found a hidden gem. I am VERY picky about my Mexican food, and El Cazuelon didn't miss! The salsa is really good, but the smoky salsa is a whole new ball game. My husband ordered a fish taco which he savoured every bite of, and then had the pollo a la pina - chicken covered with pineapple and chihuahua cheese. I ordered the enchiladas de mole, and one bite had me closing my eyes in awe of its deliciousness. The mole sauce is off the charts, so incredibly good. We also had a piece of Tres Leches cake and it was delightful. The service was exceptional; our server was extremely kind, friendly, and helpful. We might have a new favorite place. We took a chance trying something new and we're so glad we did. Can't wait to go back!

The food is delicious and the staff is friendly and attentive. This is the only Mexican restaurant we eat at in Winder.

I have been a fan of their carnitas since my very first visit almost 10 years ago and it's still the dish I will order 80% of the time... either as a meal or as a bowl. My wife almost always gets a veggie burrito or chimichanga and we definitely ALWAYS get their chicken taquitos either by themselves or as part of the sampler plate. They've had a few fails over the year, like a few occasions when the taquitos were served cold in the center or when the carnitas over a bed of onions came out waaaay too overcooked and dry. But by and large they have always given us an excellent, clean and consistent dining experience with wonderful servers. To their credit, I don't think we've ever had an issue with any server in all of the years we've been patrons. NOTE: The times they got it wrong were always corrected when I spoke up. The sweet tea here is some of my favorite in all the south (except for this last visit) and also their frozen piña colada is my third favorite ever, with the first being one I had on a random beach in Costa Rica many years ago and the second favorite being at Pepper's Cantina in Panama City, Florida. I don't personally believe their current 3.7 rating is accurate (should be higher), but then again my loyalty might be making my opinion bias. However, any local will tell you this location is packed regularly and is almost impossible to get in on weekends without a significant wait time. Get the carnitas, burrito, sampler, three way cheese dip and a frozen piña colada or sweet tea.

This place is superrr busy (vibrant and active with families eating and chatting). The decorum is culturally beautiful, as well. We enjoyed dining at El Real. The only drawback for us was the wait for our server to come back to take our dinner orders. We were relieved when our orders were taken. However, this was short-lived. We then waited close to 30mins before our dinners arrived. The wait(s) were exorbitant. However, the meals were delicious, our server was polite, so we will try this eatery again.

So I decided that something with Tequila was going to be imbibed. Recently my oldest son (yes he is of drinking age), who works in the spirit industry introduced me to the Paloma. I prefer mine with a reposado and that is how Las Margaritias makes theirs. As usual I was promptly served and always with a smile. The owner came by and said hello, even though the place was crowded. In case you are wandering, a medium sized Paloma, consumed with only a modicum of food, was enough to drag me out of the blues. I still thoroughly enjoy this place and the vibe it contains.

It was limp and soggy. The tacos were mostly lettuce with very little meat. I ordered chicken nachos with no peppers. They put the peppers in anyway. The side of beans was 14 beans ( My nephew counted them) floating in water. The cheese dip looked and tasted like milk. There were only a few peppers in it. I ordered 2 large and 1 small cheese dips. They included 1 small bag of chips. I had to pay for 2 additional bags of chips.

(No table service, Smokey Gringo is counter service). We ordered 2 kids meal chicken quesadillas, 4 tacos, 2 empanadas, a side of corn, and 2 additional fountain drinks. My total was about $80. The tacos were ok, they were lacking flavor. When I picked up my carne asada taco there was so much liquid dripping onto my tray, but sadly it tasted a little overcooked. The empanadas were huge but dry, even though there was sauce drizzled all over it. The chips were nice and crispy. ** Street parking is available. There was also a small parking lot across the street. Smokey Gringo offers both outdoor and indoor seating. We choose to sit inside. Their prices are pretty high for the little amount of food you get.
