When traveling with two small children and a grandmother, those emergency bathroom stops happen more than you think. Thankfully we found the Savemart via the Yelp app and discovered not only some of the cleanest, public restrooms, but also amazing air conditioning, super organized shelves and a friendly staff. The family restrooms are located in the back of the store while the non-family restrooms are in the far left corner of the store. Beyond clean restrooms to save Mart has an amazing produce section, fully loaded deli and a cute little bakery tucked in the corner. Basically everything most Save Mart's offer. I head to Sacramento around three to four times a year for both work and for pleasure, so I will be bookmarking this Save Mart in my road trip restroom collection! Potty hard, my friends.

I will talk about the "restaurant part" of this market…read more Well, this is like a landmark for Chowchilla. You will never think about stopping to eat here if you are not brought by a person from the town. When my boss took me the first time it was for breakfast and my first expression was... Holy cow!!, when i saw a medium Pyrex jar full of melted butter in the griddle. You did not have to be too smart to know that "the golden liquid" was going to be use in the preparation of anything coming out of that griddle... from the pancakes, to the hash browns and toasts. The woman working behind the counter's name is Louis and she is super polite and with good spirit. She welcomes you with a smile even if you are not one of her usual customers. This is not a place to come if you want to eat something healthy but if you want to experience what is a good American breakfast in a small farm town... you should try it. You will never stop talking about the experience... ha ha ha :) They have lunch too... and yes, it is still a "greasy spoon". Cheeseburgers, bacon cheeseburgers, BLT, fries, chicken tenders, etc.

The fried rice barely had any flavor and was oddly crispy like old burnt rice. They only gave me two pieces of chicken and four pieces of beef which were all overdone and had little flavor. The shrimp was okay. The veggies were fine. Probably wouldn't get this plate again. They charged way too much for way too little protein and disappointing rice. It honestly tasted like a non Asian made it without love. The drunken noodles were great though despite it also having sad protein.
