When traveling with two small children and a grandmother, those emergency bathroom stops happen more than you think. Thankfully we found the Savemart via the Yelp app and discovered not only some of the cleanest, public restrooms, but also amazing air conditioning, super organized shelves and a friendly staff. The family restrooms are located in the back of the store while the non-family restrooms are in the far left corner of the store. Beyond clean restrooms to save Mart has an amazing produce section, fully loaded deli and a cute little bakery tucked in the corner. Basically everything most Save Mart's offer. I head to Sacramento around three to four times a year for both work and for pleasure, so I will be bookmarking this Save Mart in my road trip restroom collection! Potty hard, my friends.

I hen checking out, (I think his name was Jasper) and plastic bags were wanted. He said plastic is illegal in California, but there were plastic things in our cart. don't ask for plastic here. Other than that, service was really nice.

I was truly impressed with the stock of this grocery store and when we had an unexpected first aid need, the pharmacy area had everything we needed as well. The staff were kind, knew where things were in the store, and were truly in the spirit of the season (one was dressed as Santa!). I will certianly be visiting again next time I'm in town. Raley's is undoubtedly my top-choice grocery store in Merced. Not only is the quality very…read moreconsistent and top-notch, the prices are also very fair. The meat selection is great and cheap, and the produce here is always fresh. The deli here is awesome! You can build your own sandwich with a wide variety of ingredients or select from their menu of sandwiches. I also really enjoy their fried chicken and found that it is extremely affordable and still of quality when compared to places like Popeyes, KFC, or El Pollo Loco. The sushi here is also of decent quality and way more affordable than Sushi Cuisine next door. They have the widest and cheapest selection of alcohol, and not all of it is locked up like at SaveMart or FoodMaxx. I like my liquor so it's very convenient that I can just go grab it without having to wait for an attendant to grab a key and help me out. I live pretty close by and honestly have a small fridge at home. What this means is that I go grocery shopping a lot and will only do small hauls at a time. I love the convenience of Raley's self-checkout, and regardless, the cashier lines here move pretty fast. The staff here are pleasant. I see them almost every other day and my interactions are always pretty decent if I'm not just doing self-checkout and going in-n-out. Don't forget to download the Raley's app and become a Something Extra member! Some of these member deals are SUCH a steal and you may have to login to the app first to CLIP your coupon to get the deals. Raley's also has discount Mondays, where they'll feature discounts on various items each week.

I let him know I had a return and asked if I return it first? He said if I was doing shopping just hold it until I go through the line. I asked if that was the same if I went through self checkout. He said yes. So I went shopping and was very disappointed that they were out of items of the 3 day sale and no rain checks were being given since it's a three day sale. To be out early on the second day on two items was very disappointing that the company would not make sure they gave stock to support their customers needs. Than to top it off when I went up front to pay for my groceries the young lady up front who was doing self checkout gave me a disgusted look when I told her I had a return. I told her the manager James had instructed me to do it this way. I asked her if she needed my receipt and she ignored me so that I spoke loudly and asked her again. She asked me why I was yelling. I told her I wasn't yelling I was just speaking louder so she could hear me and answer the question. I asked if she wanted to call James and ask him if the directions he gave me were wrong. She gave me a refund but never apologized or smiled or did anything to resemble good customer service. She was a young brown haired young lady and this happened at 545pm at terminal 8 if you want to research store #309. 5/16/26

At 7:01, an announcement came on saying the store had been closed for one minute and to head to the register. Totally fair. I needed one more thing from produce so I hurried- another announcement at 7:02 said to "stop shopping- we are closed" I grabbed my last item and went up front. By 7:03, I was already being checked out. And yet the reaction from staff was... unbelievable. There were several employees standing at the front just staring at me--clearly irritated, like I'd personally ruined their evening. It was three minutes past closing. Not 30. Not 15. Three. Then it somehow got worse. They were out of bags (understandable), so I asked if I could use the hand basket to carry my items to my car, which was literally parked right in front of the doors to the store. I was told no, "these baskets cant leave the store"--and that I needed to go outside and get a cart instead. So I had to run out, grab a cart, and come back in... while the entire staff stood there watching me. There must have been 6 or 7 employees glaring at me with dirty looks like I had insulted them personally. The older checker was grumpy and rude, but honestly the whole team contributed to making the experience feel hostile and unwelcoming. I completely understand wanting to close on time. But if ringing someone up at 7:03 feels like a crisis to your staff, that's a management issue--not a customer problem. Also- why not sell reusable bags if you run out of bags so often? I would have bought one to make it faster for me to exit the store. Seems like a simple solution to avoid the extreme stress your staff is experiencing
