Customer service poor, ordered ahead and wasn't ready when specified, had to wait another 15 minutes, when the order was ready wasn't told, food just sat there. Won't go back to this location. read more

I ordered a chicken fajita party tray when we went for pick up they said there was miscommunication my son had to wait 30 minutes and was given a small guacamole to compensate when I saw the tray it was just chicken, no onions, no bell peppers like the picture on the presentation. I was embarrassed for my guest. It looked like it was meat for tacos, not a fajita. I spent over $100 on this tray. Not worth it. I do not recommend it read more

I come here a lot but today was the worse experience for me... I called ahead to see if they had fried fish available they did, so I went in to order, the lady at the register was very rude!!!! I go up to the front say excuse me once and she ignores me, she turns around to grab bags and I say excuse me again, with no reply. Finally I raised my voice and she turned around and acknowledged me... I was close to her the whole time And it wasn't loud. I let it go. After I'm doing my order for family and she asked what tortillas I asked her to let me call my family, k call them she staring at me and when k say which tortilla she turns her head to speak to the other guy she's working with, again ignoring me. I wave my hand to get her attention she rolls her eyes and asks me which kind. After my order she walks over and starts laughing with the other employee staring at me. I go over and let her know, I was frustrated because twice she was ignoring me, and I didn't appreciate that especially when she is at the register to help take my order. A lot of the employees seem rude And angry but if that's the case don't work there, no one is making them show up for something they volunteered for. I hope they can get training to have professionalism and courtesy when serving a customer read more

I just looked at my bank statement and noticed that Vallarta Supermarkets at Madera, CA charged me $2.99 for making a $13.86 purchase of 1 item. If they want return customers then they should let us know in advance about the extra charge. I will not be returning to Vallarta. Especially now that food prices are up. read more

It's hard to say... I wish I could do 2.5 stars. They have good stuff, yes. But only produce and maybe bread. But it's usually overpriced. Things are always rung up incorrectly at checkout. So always check your receipt!!! The store is very clean, always stocked and organized! The food there is not very good. I tried it several times and everything to me tasted very salty and no other flavor. The meat tacos was mostly fat/tendons, the order was wrong more than once and they catch an attitude when you ask them for whatever they forgot or to fix what they messed up.(even with your receipt in hand). The meat department I would not touch. Meat is a huge NO no here. Super smelly, off putting smell and tastes bad. Also they ALWAYS try to sell you more. Every time I say TWO POUNDS they try to give me 2 1/2 almost 3! this has happens at least 5times before I gave up on the meat. Idk what it is with them they try to seal the bag and hand it to you real quick and I've given it back and repeated myself the amount I wanted. I even had a guy tell me it's just one or two extra steaks. They do have some good fresh produce! But I have read reviews that people get sick from the meat/food there and I'm not surprised, so I don't even get the bread anymore. read more

Customer service- 5 stars. Quality- 5 stars. Variety- 5 stars. Cleanliness- 5 stars. I love this place for the great variety and the customer service. They have an ice cream kiosk and agua fresca one too! My favorite thing about Madera's Vallarta is the Sushi Kiosk. They make it fresh daily until 6 pm. They have vegetarian options (buddha roll- delicious) and party trays. They are reasonably priced. The best sushi in Madera. They also offer poke bowls but I haven't made it past the sushi yet! They have lots of other things to offer and I'm sure some of you have your own favorite things about this new Grocery store. If you hven't been, try it out. read more

The tamales were outstanding! The store was very clean. They Everyone was extremely nice and helpful! 5!!!

The bakery here is horrible and a waists of time twice this week they have messed up my order on Thursday I place a special order paid for to be picked up on Saturday I go to get it and it's all wrong and all they basically did was shrug their shoulders at me ‍ today I go in the morning ask them if I can place a order for some pan Murte they said yes of course but it won't be ready until 10 just pay for it now and we will have it ready well guess what!! That wasn't the case at all not only did they not have it ready they didn't have enough and weren't going to have enough at all today my question is is why would you take an order? If you can't fulfill it they are so unorganized there. It's ridiculous. Please take this as your warning shop this bakery at your own Risk!!!!!!!! read more

First impressions: Wow, this place has everything! Sushi Bar, American-Mexican Food, Juices, a large variety of Seafood, "Fresh" (I'll get there in a sec) Meats. Everything is here! 20 Minutes Later: Woah! They have vegan/vegetarian selections! Oh. They are hella frozen. You can shatter a knee with that. Oh well, it's okay! 40 minutes later: Jesus Christ look how stocked everything is! They got fresh bread, fresh flowers, "Fresh" Produce. Honestly, this is a little too much to handle. A juicy 1 hour later: Cashier; "Your bread is expired and moldy, would you like it still?" Uh no? Oh, My bagels are going to expire tomorrow, oh your freshly made fruit bowls expire today, or your freshly packed veggies expired February 20th. Ugh, we aren't coming here again. We get home: Literally all our food is old or going to expire in 2 hours. Conclusion: Don't shop there for the groceries, maybe just get Sushi or a burrito or something. Idk, maybe don't? Your air might expire when you go in there. read more

I went there and a male employee (maybe manager) had loads of cologne. I had a (mask on) and when I got home I started having a bad reaction (MS. Like symptoms & super bad nerve sensitivity to noise). I have a hyper chemical sensitivity to fragrances/colognes/perfumes. Why do people have to wear such poisons, it's hard to go anywhere without being attacked by the poison in the perfumes and colognes. Sad that people don't understand that all fragrances are made of petroleum, and all types of poisons. fibromyalgia causing chemicals need to be outlawed. read more

If you're not Hispanic just stay away, they do not want you there. Everything from store radio to employee conversations is all in Spanish. Never, never have I seen anyone working there that was not Mexican, no blacks, whites, Native Americans, or any other race. Also, their prices are way more than anywhere else you go and that includes the big boys like Safeway or Save Mart. There are way more negatives concerning this reverse racist store chain but I think I have already made my point. read more

Very nice and spacious inside the store. We were feeling sushi and it tasted great! Would get again! read more

Came here to get some drinks and candy. But i saw they had fresh carnitas. They ladies were staring at me rolling there eyes through my whole transaction with them. I'm not one to make reviews but after the experience I've had today, I couldn't let it slide. I ordered a burrito from this establishment, and when I went to take my first bite I bit into an entire chicken bone, which I could have easily swallowed or choked on. When I spoke to the manager I was told it was an accident and shrugged off. I get that these things happen but the way the manager handled it was extremely unprofessional and I don't intend on coming back here again. read more

Vallarta Supermarkets - Chicken Bone in Burrito - Grocery Near Me - Madera, California

I shop there frequently, but especially for the freshly made tamales... Tonight i ran into the store, when to the tamales area, and the second container from the right said chicken as usual. I took out three and went home which is 5 miles away. When we ate the first tamale my wife had a reaction, and told me hers was chili cheese, and way too hot ... i cut the other one open and it was chili cheese also so we didn't eat them. I looked at the wrappings and sure enough 2 were chili cheese, and 1 wrapper was labeled chicken, but they were all in the chicken steamer. I called to let them know, and merely wanted credit for 2 tamales. The woman on the phone said to wrap up the wrong tamales, and bring them back. I said I can't tonight as I'm a ways away so she said bring them back tomorrow. I told her cant i just get the credit tomorrow without having to scoop up the cut up tamales and bring them back? She said no thats not our policy, so I told her that's fine and my policy will be not to shop there anymore. A stupid policy that is costing Vallarta hundreds of dollars for the mere cost of 2 tamales... read more

Normally the food I get here is really good, but went this morning to get some albondigas and the meat was completely pink/raw so just make sure you have them cut a meatball open before leaving with it because I paid $32 for these. Bought 3 XL containers and there was only about 1 meatball fully cooked. Then we called to let them know about it so they don't keep serving these and were put on hold for over 10 min just for the "manager" to have her employee tell us to call back in 20 min???? read more

Just wanted to share a BAD EXPERIENCE I had a few months ago while shopping in the store. It was an experience with a male cashier cant remember his name he was hispanic im assuming, lighter skinned, dark hair brown eyes just basic ? Anyways I remember being in a not too happy mood that day and Im assuming the cashier realized that and began having a really nasty attitude towards me I was so scared in that moment I did not know what I did to deserve this. And on top of that he told my 80 year old father he could not take the electric cart outside. So Heartless. I would also like to add that I have not seen him there for a while so Im assuming he got fired? Which is great we dont need people like that working customer service jobs anyways. Ugh and dont even get me started on those "managers" who cannot solve anything it seems like. Pathetic. read more

Excellent customer service at the sushi counter. I needed a platter for an event and a young lady helped with the selection all the way and had it ready that afternoon. Fresh and delicious! read more

everything in this store is massively overpriced! a $100 dollar price at (food4less) will cost you at least ($150 dollars) at vallarta's. save your hard earned money and shop elsewhere! vallarta's is a "ripoff"! highest priced supermarket in all of madera! (way way higher priced than pak-n-save) read more

We got the Carnitas dinner and doubled it. It still only came with a pint of rice and beans. Way overpriced for the small portions compared to their direct competition 5 minutes down the road. read more

Food is expired! Like yikes! I got really sick. Placed an order for a cake for my daughters bday, paid in advance. Was given a yellow paper copy of the order as my receipt. Ended up canceling the party due to flu virus illness (before the cake was made!) and was told no problem I'd be refunded. Went for my refund and they treated me like a criminal trying to steal their money. Almost refused to refund me because they said it wasn't the "official receipt". After 30 min of standing around and a mention of me complaining to the bbb I finally got my $36 refund. The other reviewers are right about management being lousy as well. No apology for my time. Just a snicker and an eye roll and my refund. Worst store ever. Will never go back read more

I actually noticed now the more I shop here that their produce is crap. And I got sick from the juice bar it was bad... also the shrimp cocktails are overpriced for the shrimp that you get. read more

No customer service. Terrible workers! I've been here multiple times and have not ever had a good experience here. They are extremely slow, I mean all of them including the managers. Forget getting any assistance if you ever need to get anything out of a section that requires a key to open! Meat sections smells terrible like old meat sitting around. I wish this wasn't the closet market by me. It's better to drive down and go else where if you can. They hire the WORST people here! read more

Their food is overpriced for the quality of the food that's being served. $10 burritos that hardly have any filling inside of them. They are very stingy with the amount of meat put onto their tacos/burritos. No flavor to any of the food items I've tried and their soups are very bland and the Caldo de Pollo has very bland and dry chicken. Not worth your hard earned money. There is nothing worse than paying for overpriced food that does not taste good and that is skimpy on the serving sizes. I would have definitely returned and asked for my money back if I hadn't already bitten into the food items. Beware they also have a taco truck witch has a different name on the truck yet same disappointment. read more

DON'T BUY MEAT FROM HERE! I literally bought meat 2 days ago (the day of the expiration which I should have paid attention to) they told me they pull the meat 2 days before which was a lie because I bought it on the day it expired. I stored it in my fridge which has a thermometer and is at 37 degrees so it wasn't anything with me. I brought it back in hope I could get an equal refund of the meat. They denied again and again. Terrible customer service and terrible meat. Buy from food 4 less, they have the best steaks in Madera. Don't worry about coronavirus, worry about getting sick at this place! read more
