At that point, I asked to speak with a manager because I wanted to address the situation appropriately. I was told that the manager was off and that there was no manager there. As a longtime customer, I found that extremely disappointing, especially when I was trying to address a serious customer service concern. What made this experience even more upsetting is that I could not help but feel that the way I was treated may have been influenced by the color of my skin. I cannot say what was in the employee's mind, but the treatment I received left me feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. I honestly do not believe I would have been treated the same way if I were Hispanic. If the bar had just opened and there were limitations on service, all that needed to be said was that the bar was not fully ready or that service would begin shortly. I would have understood.
