Stop by the place on our way to the airport after leaving Meza Verde. Amazed at how delicious the food is considering the price. The place is cute and service is quick. Will come back again if we are in the area!

Great staff, welcomes immediately and got a table quickly. Waitress brought child and salsa fast too! Ordered a margarita and a quesadilla and both were great! Marg was tasty and big!

This had good reviews which doesn't mean much with all the fake ones now days but this place was legitimate. The service was great. We walked in the door and were seated anywhere we wanted. It was a bit crowdedded but they got our food quickly. The kitchen is in plain sight and the cooks were working very hard. I always start to judge a Mexican restaurant by the chips and salsa. Both were very good. Not just the hot-stuff blended into a liquid but had actual chunks of all the good stuff. The decor is not that fancy but with good food there is no need for frills. I would definitely go here again if i am in Cortez Colorado.

If you're looking for a Mexican joint with amazing food and fast, friendly service, look no further! The ambiance had the feel of a small family owned restaurant with a lot of charm! The star of the show was definitely the food though! My fiance got the Enchiladas Verdes and I got the Enchiladas Chipotles. We can both confidently say that they were the best enchiladas we have ever had, and they were piping hot too! The Sauce on the Enchiladas Chipotle was especially incredible! This sauce had a good kick to it so definitely stay away from this one if you don't like spice! My fiance got the mango margarita and it was delicious and quite strong! 11/10 restaurant and definitely the best Mexican food we have had in Colorado!!!

Best Mexican food in town hands down! I've tried a couple other Mexican places and I wish I had found this place first. I had the Pollo en Molé and it was probably the best I've had since my ex Mother in Law made it for me. It was so nice just to go in, sit down and get served a very good meal. This place and Pippos will be the only places I eat next time I come to Cortez!

My wife and I went with some neighbors to dinner last night. We have eaten at no less than 30-40 Mexican food restaurants in Colorado, Arizona, Southern California, and Mexico. Each has a unique food taste and style of preparation. We would rank El Campestre near the top of all the restaurants we have visited. Last night the dishes we had were Chicken Fajitas Burrito, Camarones (shrimp) al la Crema, Nachos Supreme Appetizer as a main dish, and Shredded Beef Taco and a Fish Taco. Everyone remarked how good the food tasted. I loved the Fish Taco. The portions were generous and two of us took take-home boxes. The guys ordered Margaritas. My friend had a Regular Margi on ice, which he loved. I ordered a Traditional Margarita and had it blended. They were excellent. I could easily have enjoyed a second one, but we were nearly finished with our meal. They have a lunch menu, and a daily special posted on the wall. There were some good items listed there to try. The service was very good and we received our food quickly. Chips and salsa were nice and not too spicy. We will go back soon to sample many of the large array of other items they have to offer.

Really good service and mole sauce! Enchiladas Rancheros were also really good. We went on a Saturday evening at 5:30 and got right in.

We looked for a lunch spot via Yelp on our way home from Telluride…read more Yelp did it again. Loungin' Lizard will be our go to every time we pass through Cortez in the future. We walked in and were immediately greeted by one of the bartenders and told to sit wherever we liked. We found a nice booth off to the side of the bar area. Our server Patrick stopped by the booth and pointed us to the food menu in the chalkboard. We also had another server but I didn't catch her name. They were both very friendly and attentive. I ordered the special for the day. A green chili Rueben & fries. Wow, this sandwich was so delicious! What a creative combination of flavors. Even the slaw in the Rueben included the green chilis. The fries were hot and crispy. My husband ordered the spicy BBQ pulled pork tacos. He said the tacos were amazing and the flavors were off the charts. They were topped with a slaw and pickles. The side of "tortilla chips" had a dusting of a very flavorful spice. Not sure what it was but very tasty. Looking over the menu, this restaurant has some very creative dishes. We can't wait to stop by again! My husband ordered

Steak Out also has a vibrant bar scene in the back of the restaurant, spilling outdoors to well planned outdoor dining and pub setup. The service is friendly and attentive. Steak Out shifts gears for lunch, offering all kinds of interesting fare for lunch. Not cheap but well worth it for what you get. Much of their menu items are both creative and genuinely delicious. Watch for unusual limits on days open. Currently, seems like they're closed Sunday and Monday and Tuesday, and then open from 11am till closing Wednesday through Saturday, which offers opportunities to drop by not only for lunch or dinner, but in between as well. Central fireplace, very comfortable seating, etc. Very pleasant vibe, welcoming locals and tourists alike. Super to have this option in Dolores, and serving the Cortez community as well. Highly recommended.

The restaurant has an upscale vibe. Not quite white cloth but a place to celebrate a special event. I ordered a Merlot and the 16oz ribeye. Everyone at the table ordered steaks: wagyu steak, New York strip, and the filet mignon. My steak was divine!!! Melt in your mouth amazing flavor. The tomato jam on top was pretty damn tasty too. Although after a while it became too much so I had to move it off to the side. The veggies were cooked perfectly and the baked potato was good. I tried the wagyu and while it was tender and good I much preferred my ribeye. Everybody else seemed to enjoy their steaks. Our only complaint was that we waited an hour and a half for our food. Our reservation was for 1830, we did not get our steaks until 2000. They did give us a complimentary soup or salad for the wait which was nice but 1.5 hours is a little much. But if I were to find myself in the area I would make a stop for this place... I'd just make sure there are no parties lol.
