Food & service was top notch. Staff was above & beyond friendly & helpful. Parking was tough but worth the wait. Wished I found this place at the beginning of our vacation instead of the end. Highly recommend to anyone. They take reservations which we didn't have but got us in quickly. The heart of hearing and music is Very loud but I didn't mind the beat.

Came in for some drinks and a small bite before our dinner reservations. The bar was very busy and it was very warm inside. The bartender was very nice. The ceviche we ordered was decent. 3 of our 4 drinks were not very good. The poloma was not made well at all. The coconut margarita was decent.

Came here for brunch on my first day in Vancouver. Coming from Austin, TX I chose to opt in for breakfast tacos and I wasn't disappointed. They were very good. And being a lover of spicy foods, I tried their hot sauce and it didn't disappoint. I also love when a place does a good Bloody Mary and there it was just the way I like.

Checked out El Camino's on an early Saturday evening before it got too busy. Was seated a booth. Music was playing throughout the night. Server provided some suggestions and decided to go with: CARNITAS pork shoulder tacos ($12) BAJA PESCADO fish tacos ($13) PAPAS CHORREADAS nugget potato in smoked paprika cream sauce ($10.50) EL CAMINO ROYALE (buttermilk fried chicken) SANGUCHES ($15) Carnitas tacos were a bit dry, Baja Pescado were good. Papas Chorreadas were potato in almost a cheese sauce. Their sanguchues had a nice soft bun and the chicken had a nice spice kick. Good overall experience at El Camino's

Great covered heated pet-friendly patio! They have happy hour every day. Really like to stop by, eat some latin food and grab some drinks. My favorite is their Carnitas tacos! $13 (comes with 2 tacos). Delicious and creamy guacamole, very tender slow cooked pork shoulder, salsa verde and some crispy chicarrones. Great combination! Everything works well together, lots of flavors and textures. You must try it! Also really like their wings portion from the Happy Hour menu. Very crispy and tender. Great with a drink!

Anyone that knows me knows I love me some tacos and tequila. Which makes this next fact surprising: but up until last week, I had never been to El Camino's. I know, I know, who am I? However, I finally made it there, got my taco and tequila fix, and left a happy camper. Two of my friends and I were craving tacos (big surprise) and since one of my friends lives around Main, we walked on over to El Camino's. They've got plenty of socially distanced patio seating, but they were all full, so we opted for a table inside, since there weren't many people inside anyway. All the tables were socially distant, there was plenty of hand sanitizer at the front of the restaurant, and all the servers were wearing masks and keeping their distance - so I felt very safe! Their menu specializes in Latin American street food, which consists of a variety of bite sized appetizers (cornbread, chicarones, choreadas, etc.), tacos, and sandwiches. They also have an assortment of cocktails, wine, and beer on their drink menu. To drink, I got me'self a double mezcal margarita. It was strong, just the way I like 'em, and hit the spot perfectly. To eat, I opted for the veggie chorapapas tacos which had cauli-chorizo, smoked tofu & potato, guajillo chili sauce, radish, feta on top. For $10 it came with two six inch tacos which were generously topped with filling. I really enjoyed the tacos, but think they could use a bit more flavour. Maybe if it had a little more of a kick or some sort of sauce, they would've been perfect. My pals got the carnitas tacos and sweet chili cauli wings. I tried a few bites of the cauli wings and was pleasantly surprised with how good they were. I loved how crispy the cauli was and how much sauce it was doused with. Service was great and food came out quickly. I'll definitely be back for more tacos and tequila in the very near future. Thanks for a fun evening, El Camino's!

I've had an overload of Asian eats lately so I wanted to change things up and eat something different. B's been to El Camino's sister restaurant, The Cascade Room, before. It's located beside Don't Argue! Pizzeria. We dropped in on a busy Sunday afternoon for brunch. The heated, covered patio outside is a nice alternative but we were able to snag a table inside by the windows. Service is friendly and music was awesome. Great soundtrack of old tunes playing softly in the background. The menu was short and sweet for brunch; less than 10 options and beverages (refrescos, cervezas and cocteles). The regular menu is a bit more interesting with ensalatas, raciones (sharing dishes), arepas and tacos. Happy hour is weekdays (4:00pm to 6:00pm), Saturday (3:00pm to 6:00pm, 10:00pm to midnight) and Sunday (3:00pm to 11:00pm). There's also "late night" happy hour every night (10:00pm to midnight) except Sunday (4:00pm to 11:00pm). They also have a couple weekly features. Phew. - Grace Bros ginger beer ($3.50) - surprisingly has a good ginger zip to it. - Huevos divorciados ($12.00) - two over easy eggs on crisp corn tortillas, black beans, monteray jack, salsa verde, salsa roja and hashbrowns. Hashbrowns were incredibly bland. Same with their eggs. It's always a bad sign when I have to use hot sauce to make things flavourful. At least they make their own here; the one on the table was called anillo del fuego ("fire ring"). It had four peppers on the label it but wasn't spicy. Skip the huevos. Super disappointing. - The hangover ($14.00) - corn tortilla chilaquiles with black beans, cheese, scrambled eggs, red salsa, sour cream and hashbrowns. This dish lived up to it's name; perfect carb loading. Besides the eggs and hashbrowns, everything was flavourful. The cilantro added on top added a nice touch of freshness to the dish. Decent but not sure if I'd come back to EC for brunch again with so many other options on Main Street.

Despite being a Monday and having very few customers, this place delivered on a cool vibe with delicious food. I would have liked more local craft beer and it could have been a little warmer. The guacamole and chips are delish as were the rajas con crema and pescado tacos. I liked this place and will definitely be back! Oh margarita Monday!! : )

My go-to for red wine and tequila. Happy hour here is dope and the staff are dope. Super laid back and there's always comfy seating either outside on the (heated) patio or inside. Pros: - $3 tequila shots and $5 wine during happy hour - salsa reel - short rib tacos - awesome service - free popcorn - tequila chaser that's this wonderful concoction of pineapple juice, mint, jalapeño and magic Cons: - if I think of any, ill update this review

Pisco Fever (like a pisco sour but with grapefruit juice instead of lime) and a mojito
    Sheila K.

Had a fantastic meal here! We started with the papas chorreadas, smashed potatoes in a smoked paprika cream with feta, and an excellent mahi mahi ceviche. Then we shared a (huge) Cubano sandwich, generously filled with ham, roasted pork, cheese and pickles. Drinks were very well crafted... we tried the Pisco Fever, the El Diablo with spicy ginger beer, a mezcal margarita and a mojito. Our server was super friendly and quick to refill waters and remove dishes from the crowded table, and another server checked on us a few times too. Fun and cool atmosphere. Will definitely be back.

The crab salad, prawns, avocado, burnt onion mayo, iceberg lettuce, tajin cucumber, pico de gallo

If you're looking for a happening, lively place, come here! Indoor/outdoor joint with loud music, festive atmosphere and a fun menu to choose from! The salsa had such robust flavor and the guacamole had a kick to it. Waitress was warm, fun and service was on point. The tostado - crab salad, prawns, avocado, burnt onion mayo, iceberg lettuce, tajin cucumber, pico de gallo - has such depth of flavor and was so beautiful to eat. Margaritas weren't as strong as I would have liked but above average.

This has been on my wish list for quite some time so i was happy to see their patio open! I ordered their al pastor tacos. The meat was super tender and juicy, i especially loved the Chicharron. My friend ordered the shepherds pie and the taste was fluffy and quite delicious. Another item i really enjoyed was their wings with a Tajin Rub. The service was amazing and the vibe was great!

Tijuana Caesar, good! Loads of queso

Great margaritas and Micheladas. Lively atmosphere. Attentive wait staff. Our group arrived at 6:30 on Saturday night and were promptly able to be seated for four. We were at the table for over two hours and never felt rushed. The el Tigre shot is the bomb. I have enjoyed the vegetarian menu items including the Papas Chorreadas, squash and cauliflower tacos. There are better and more authentic around town but for a casual easy night out this is a solid choice. Tried the Machaca tacos recently and they are huge and meaty and yummy. Open late!

Camera always eats first. Bom Appetite

The birria was massive and filled with a ton of meat but didn't have much flavour so had to pour some hot sauce in order to get some flavour. There was enough meat to easily make 2 tacos. The nopal was nice but didn't have much taste and was slightly slightly slimy. Have always wanted to try cactus so this wasn't half bad. The stand out for me was the Pescado as it was crispy and has great sauce and flavour. The Cauliflower taco was also solid. For 4 Happy Hour tacos, happy Hour chips, guacamole, & salsa plus two drinks I paid around $50 including tax and tips. Good service and the restaurant was getting busy on a Thursday night with locals. Definitely worth checking out this authentic establishment, especially with Sal y Lemon that relocated up South on Fraser Street.

We chose coconut for a less sweet option -!: it was delicious, super moist and tasty. It's a very rich cake though with all the whipped cream, so you can't eat too large a slice. There were plenty of leftovers, so we pre sliced them and freezer them. They defrost in the fridge overnight and taste so good again the next day.
