My son has autism so he was never good with other children until he attended KinderCare for a few months. After his attendance at KinderCare he is so much more explorative with foods, follows directions in a group a little better and was prepared for this years start at the elementary school pre-school. Often times I would drop him off and cry in my car (happy tears) after seeing the other children cooperate in a 10 minute program Ms. Bertha had for my son, where the class would dim the lights for him and everyone would remain quiet upon his arrival playing classical music until my son was calm enough to join the group (i was told this was usually no more than 10 minutes & I saw it myself, the other children were happy to do so). This melted my heart. Many kids would approach him and say "hi, I love you, it's ok" when I would walk him into class. The directors and teachers here were more than willing to not only comfort my son but teach the other students the importance of inclusion & kindness to those with special needs. These kids were so nice to mine! My son is nonverbal so it was very sweet to hear everyone's little voices of encouragement toward him. I was very sad to have to leave this location I wish he could attend there forever they were so great!!!! There's an app where you can see photos of your child, see what they ate and didn't eat, see how long they napped etc. Totally worth it. read more

I am a USArmy soldier that arrived California 2 years ago. I have a kid with autism and most of the daycares stated that they could not provide care to my child because he was making to other kids scared. Jamacha Rd. Kindercare was the only one that took the challenge and prove the other center wrong. Ms. Bertha started with Carter (my son) which other than having autism was non verbal. Couple months pass and my kid was able to start communicating with us like pointing and mumbling words. With assistance of speech therapy my kid now is able to communicate. If it wasnt by that first innitiative that the center placed it could have been a different scenario today. I had 4 children assisting the daycare with the age of months, 2, 5 and 7. This center provided basic education for the kids and love for the most part. They were always excited to go to daycare and it was shown by the appreciation they had for the teacher and staff. The only reason we move was because of military orders. My kids miss the teachers and the staff and so my wife and my self. We have had our daughter in Kindercare here for over a year and she loves it! She is always excited to go and is clearly learning and developing so much while she is there (she is a little over 2 now). Her teachers are very helpful and they do a great job communicating with us about her day through the phone app. Everyone who works there is very friendly and helpful. At the time, I was very skeptical of putting my son in preschool due to him not being able to talk. However, I was referred to Kindercare by a girlfriend of mine and after doing research and finding out all the pros, I enrolled my son. He was 2 1/2 at that time and let me tell you, I am more than pleased with my decision! In less than 6 months, Mrs. Bertha had him talking and fully potty trained! She has been absolutely amazing and still checks in on my son even though he is no longer in her class. My son is now 4 1/2 and is in Miss. Jasmines class. Miss. Jasmine is fantastic and she genuinely loves and cares for my child and every child in her class. She takes that extra initiative in getting to know your child's likes and dislikes. For example, my son likes his head rubbed for a few seconds to help him fall asleep at nap time. And she will go out of her way to do that for him. And Mrs. Shaena is wonderful, she is the assistant director. She is always giving me suggestions on how to handle behavior, good or bad. She will take the time to sit there with you and get to know your family and she treats every child like her own. And Mrs. Lindsey, the director always stays on top of everyone's account and all paperwork and is super quick to respond to any need or want you may have! If I could give this Kindercare location more stars, I would! Everyone there is so welcoming and makes me you feel like family! :) read more

Absolutely love this place. I can't tell you how amazing it feels to see your kids so excited to come to kinder-care everyday. As a single parent of 2 boys Megan and Lindsay (including staff) have really made me feel like this was a second home. Not only that, as a parent you have all these worries and fears, not here. They literally made my children and myself feel so secure and feel safe. They are always doing tons of curriculum and fun activities, yesterday they made tie dye shirts ( awesome ). My boys love it here and I love being able to drop them off and have piece of mind that they are in the best care. May I mind you that when I drop my kids at 7 am, I know that they will have a hot breakfast waiting for them when I get there with no worries just in case I'm running behind. If you are looking for a place for your kids, don't even second guess this place. Amazing staff, awesome food and know that your kids will have fun with stories to tell about there day. Nothing short of amazing!! We did a trial run as this was my first time leaving my 10 month old daughter with people other than family. Megan, The Director, was wonderful. She was very supportive, made me feel at ease and comfortable with leaving my daughter. Mrs. Megan introduced us to the staff in the infant room, everyone was so welcoming and spent genuine time helping my daughter get comfortable. Returning the next day, my daughter had a huge smile on her face when she saw Mrs. Megan again. I can honestly say I trust Megan and the staff and know my daughter will be taken care of. My son started here back in July and since then I have had a few issues which of course is expected because nothing is perfect and children are crazy little creatures lol. My son is happy and loves coming to school where he is learning from Mrs. Shayna. She is such a dedicated teacher who loves the kids like they are her own. The Director Megan is amazing! She is always doing something around the center or taking care of the kids. There is a new Assistant Director who is the sweetest and from what I've seen the kids love her (funny thing I believe her last name is Sweet) :). I would give 0 stars if I could. This is the most unprofessional place I've ever been to, as a teacher I've been to many different schools, but I would NOT trust my child here. Children get moved around from room to room due to constant shortage of staff. Poor communication, unruly children, and the constant change of teachers. We were in search of a good day care after a bad experience at a private daycare. We found out about KinderCare after a recommendation from a friend and my infant son fell in love with the staff from day 1. He gets very excited, smiles , laughs , talks, waves, and gives hugs when he sees his teachers at school. We get daily reports filled out to the detail of what he was taught. We get text with pictures of him, his artwork sent home, and a daily chat about his day. Everyone is very friendly , compassionate, and professional. I was in search of daycare during COVID for my then 2-month old daughter since I was getting off maternity leave soon. (I'm in the military) The pandemic really put a damper on my search since the CDC's (Child Development Center) on base are closed and most places out in town have waiting lists as far as until February of NEXT YEAR! That's when a close friend recommended KinderCare and luckily there was one near my house. I put in a request and minutes later I get a phone call- there was actually a spot for my daughter and I could not be more pleased! With the friendly staff and excellent care they provide for my now almost 5 month old, they really made my transition going back to work a lot easier and it gives me a peace of mind knowing that my daughter is in good hands while I'm away. Did I mention how professional the directors and teachers are?! Although we can't step into the classrooms, Miss Megan and Miss Lindsey (the directors) and their staff go above and beyond to make sure the facility is a safe haven for our kids. Kinder Care on Jamacha is like a second family to my daughter. My daughter who is now 2 and a half, has been in three different classes (infants, toddlers, and two's) and my husband and I are pleased with each one. One of the hardest things I have had to do was leave my 10-week-old baby in a daycare. The only thing that kept me from going insane was knowing the ladies (Michelle and Sinia) were taking great care of my baby. They were super supportive with the pumped milk I brought in and kept great records about how much she ate and released each day. Their communication was amazing and consistant. I even got a phone call during my first week back at work telling me how my baby was doing and was even asked how I was feeling being back at work. Now the center offers an app where I receive pictures, videos, the food she ate, and notes about what she did that day. It really makes me feel included in her school day. Her new teachers (Daisy and Tia) have been helping my daughter toilet train, and she is super excited about it. I couldn't do it without them. The curriculum is right on base with her development and she enjoys going to school each day. Megan and Lindsay (directors) have been very supportive with our family. Their communication about activiites and events at the school are always available, both in person and through the app. They have also handled the covid epidemic very well within their center. read more

I was searching for a center for my son who at the time was 10 months. In August I called and spoke with Megan who I believed to be director at the time but was assistant director. I told her that I was a recipient of the child care subsidy CDA and wanted to know if there was space for a child his age she said yes that there was room, I asked if I could set up at time to visit the facility she told me that she would be there about an hour and that if I could make it that I could come in. I was relieved as I needed to find suitable care pretty quick as CDA gives a time limit. Upon visiting the center, it was super cute, decorated with artwork, warm, and inviting. I met with Megan did a quick tour of the infant room and met Ms Michelle who was very nice yet busy multitasking taking care of the little ones and didn't seem bothered at all. Upon ending the tour Megan pulled out a folder from the lobby cabinet told me to fill out the forms. I reminded her that I was a recipient of CDA and she informed me that lots of other parents receive the same tuition assistance and CDA would cover everything. I was relieved again that the process seemed seamless as I was broke ass hell obviously and couldn't afford to pay attention let alone hundreds of dollars in daycare per week. My son started a few days later. A couple of weeks later upon our arrival at the daycare Megan informed me in front of the head director at the time that I could possibly have a co pay, she walked out of the office to handle something else and the director (a black lady at the time I can't remember her name) said that she had a contact at CDA and would handle it as it appeared to be a mistake and she would take care of it. After I signed him in and got him squared away in the infant room, I stopped by the window and she was already on the phone and mentioned my name to her CDA contact. I was like wow that was fast. I had to leave and would ask her the status once I came back. Upon me picking my son up she was not there, so the next time I came in I asked her would I have a co pay for my sons tuition she said no that everything was fine and taken care off. Ok so now I could finally breathe. Fast forward a month and a half later...I was told by Megan that I owe 500 tuition!!! I asked her how and she said that I owe the $100 registration fee plus $60 per week that he had been enrolled. I said you told me that everything was going to be covered by CDA and why are you just now informing me of this when I should have been told this from day 1? Her reply was that it wasn't her job at the time to inform me I had a copay and the former director (the black lady) had quit. Pause for the cause: Usually when you are a recipient of any childcare subsidy the daycares wave the registration fee and any co payment and "accept" the fee from CDA as paid in full because hey you're broke. What pissed me off is she blamed everything on everyone else and didn't take responsibility at all. She told me that I could just pay it down every week with whatever I had. When it comes to my son eating and me paying tuition on their "mistake" I felt that the center should have ate that cost. Besides before you enroll your child the registration fee has to be paid before the child is enrolled. She made me sign a form for me to pay off $614 over the course of 6 weeks. Obviously I wasn't able to pay this amount not because I didn't want to buy because I couldn't I just didn't and I don't have the money. Sooo today, she wanted to speak with me. She asked if I had received the note of his tuition being due I said yes. Now we're going back and forth...blah blah blah...and I informed her that she didn't give me a choice in the center that I wanted to choose. If she would have informed me of the co pay from day 1 my son would not have attended Kindercare. She told me if it were up to her "Boss" they would have kicked him out a long time ago. I told her it all boils down to you not communicating with me from day one of there being a co pay with her being the primary liaison of the matter. Bottom Line: Communication from the beginning is horrible through the "director" Megan, she doesn't take responsibility for her innate "actions" while blaming them on other co workers. Don't get me wrong she's not a horrible person, just one who should not be "director" of a childcare facility. But just as she told me before I left with my son: "You gotta do what you gotta do" Ughhh rude much... I replied...Girl bye! Got the paper work I signed for enrollment and rolled out. read more

AMAZING!!!! I don't even know where to begin. My first time there I was greeted by Ms.Alicia, Ms Teka and Ms Megan. They were so welcoming. I had never left my children with anyone other than family, it was the hardest thing ever but I had to. I had a preschooler and a an infant. I am the mother of 6 and I had been a stay at home mom for a long time. I started working again and had no choice but to search for the right place. And I'm sure glad I found this family. They are amazing to my children and myself. I now have 4 of my children there. They made my transition back to working mom so smooth and they reassure me my kids are taken care of. Horrible experience I enrolled my baby boy two days ago, first day my baby fell and cut his bottom lip with his teeth and nobody call me or reported just a piece of paper the have to my husband when he picked him up. Second day my baby was on panic he cannot stop crying when I dropped him, I wasn't able to leave him, I never saw my baby like that ever ever, isn't his first daycare. Third day I dropped him and he was crying again and a nice hispanic teacher that was in his classroom told me it's ok to leave him with her and if doesn't feel comfortable she will call me, I went to work but I got that horrible feeling inside my chest that something wasn't right so I decide to drive by and I park outside by the playground and I saw my baby crying horrible and extending his arms to the teacher and I saw how the teacher was telling him No No I can't take you I have lots of kids to watch how unprofessional staff, I am a Pediatric County Nurse and to work with kids you have to be passionate and caring, you can not tell a 2 years old when he is crying and scared NO NO I can't take you. A friend told me don't enroll your son there, KinderCare have a horrible reviews online, but I didn't listen to her and now I regretted. HORRIBLE And UNPROFESSIONAL place. read more

The communication among staff and the Director is very poor. Alisha the staff member asked me for a money order so my child could be placed first in line on the waiting list at there facility. I went in one month in advanced to make sure my child had a spot when I was ready for work. She promised me I would have a spot open and ready for my child during the end of March early April. Which was perfect because I would start working around that time as well. But, when I went to the facility so Alisha could fill out paper work as too the start date (on next Tuesday), I was later informed the following week (Monday, before Tuesday) that my child could not be received in their program due to no spot available. So, I had to look for another day care at the very last minute. I had called three times to speak with her and she did not return my phone calls and another staff told me over the phone that she was in a meeting. I even had called 2 weeks in advanced and left a voice mail to keep an update on my status, but never revived a curious call back from anyone. I then asked Alisha for my money back because I felt as though she lied to me and would keep it instead of keeping their word. When I went into the building, Megan, the Director yelled at me in a high voice what did I need... I told her politely I was waiting for Alisha to hand me back my $100. Megan began informing in me a rude tone of voice that this would be the last and only time I could have it back....as trying to intimidate me... She didn't even bother to ask what was my situation was or apologize for the misconceive. I kindly did receive my money back from Alisha, and she did say I apologize as she turned around the corner....She didn't even give me the time or respect as to the problem...How unprofessional... I had a hard time trying to cash the money order. Yeah, the place looks nice and appealing but I think they only foster the White American population than other diverse multicultural populations because I received very minimal acknowledgement as to the situation they placed me in. Be careful, they might promise you something, take your money, not help you or communicate with you, and wash their hands as if nothing happens and leave out in the dirt with nothing not even a valid response. read more

First I would like to thank the staff of KinderCare El Cajon for taking such great care of my babies. I am a full time mom and to know that my children are well taken care of while I am at work is a great relief to me. A couple of situations have come up since the kids stated and the staff has taken care of it with such professionalism and respect. I greatly appreciate that. My children talks about the staff all the time and loves being at school. The appearance of the facility is great. I love coming in and seeing what creations the teachers have made. The classrooms are well organized and colorful. Way better than the precious center my kids were at. I appreciate the fact that the school has a nutritionist on site and they are given a hot breakfast from time to time. All the teachers are very inviting and sweet. I have no doubt that my kids are in great hands. Thank you very much for loving my babies. read more
