I have 3 children attending this school, and not 1 of them has a single complaint. This is the first center which has felt like a second home. The teachers are attentive to each of my children as far as taking the time to learn their background, assess their needs, put plans and take steps to address their care needs, and most of all take the time to communicate with me about each one of my kids. They have always been great about sharing both successful days and not so successful days my children have. Truly each teacher has become a second parent to them. My oldest is now in Transitional Kindergarten and attends here outside of school hours. The teachers have the ability to drive her to and from elementary and not once has my critical 5 year old had a single bad thing to say about their driving. Believe me she is all about people doing the right thing as she knows it, and about letting her mommy know when anything is off. Truly my eyes and ears. Her teacher Mrs. Sheila takes the time to care about my child, help build her confidence so she can begin to quit thumb sucking, assists her with homework, and makes sure when she has no homework that on top of play time the complete an educational activity to encourage and further her learning. She is great to communicate with me when my daughter reaches a new milestone like writing her name with all letters facing the right way, and she is also great at letting me know what we could improve on as well as practical ways to do that as a single mother with multiple children. My middle child is in the 2's room. He is a 2 year old boy in all senses of the word as far as being physical and rowdy but to his credit also very aware and loving. He has had some behavioral issues which the director and other staff have worked hard to communicate with me on, as well as have tried extensively to help guide him with. I do not care for the behavior of his primary teacher or the lack of communication I have with her as I do not see her and am reliant on 3rd party information regarding most of my sons days. Regardless of my disconnect with his main class teacher, my son is still happy to go to his school daily which speaks words about the center as he has separation issues we are working through. The teachers who are with him in the morning upon drop off and evening upon pick up are amazing with him especially Ms. Amber, and as in the above class situation are great at checking in with me about how he is doing both good and bad, and happy to offer advice on situations as they arise. My youngest is in the infant room. She has been attending here since about August of 2018 when all 3 of my kids started here. This is the first school I did not call mid day to check in on my children with. Ms. Krista and Ms. Amanda in charge of care for my child I had no concerns. Krista is right in tune with my way of approaching life with confidence and intuition, and relying on experience. From day 1 Krista has been great at addressing my child's numerous health concerns and even taking the time to research the issues and approaches we can take, and then working with me collaboratively always respectful that my final say is key and I appreciate that more than words can say. My baby started with acid reflux and Krista took the time to cut her feeding down to smaller more frequent bottles always keeping her as upright as possible to feed which got my daughter through that stage of her life with the most comfort possible. Then continually there are times that her teachers are so intune they know there is a problem even when there are no outright signs like when they suspected something was off and my poor baby ended u having a double ear infection. Amanda is the sweetest teacher at the school. There has never been a day where I have seen her approach myself, another parent, or another child with anything except a smile and comfort in the way that she is. They both continuously encourage my daughter to reach the next milestones and encourage me to allow my baby to grow and continue to the next stages. They are cautious of germs, diet, diapers changed on time, of various mood swings my baby goes through, and on truly teaching the infant room rather than just playing or feeding the children which is not an easy task at such young ages. The director Mrs. Shannon is the most accommodating teacher and director I have ever met. She is all about making sure needs are met, concerns are address, and prides herself on helping make life easier for us parents which as a single mother of 3 ages 5 and under is invaluable! As a mom of three kids, ages 4 to 11, I feel so grateful to have found this daycare, over 9 years ago. The staff here truly feels like an extended family--they know each of my children and care for them as if they were their own. From creative activities for the little one to after-school support for my oldest kids, they've made a positive difference in each of my kids' lives. I directly witnessed my child being physically abused. I trusted CCA would protect, care for, and nurture my child. I feel a deep sense of betrayal by the organization. The well being of my child was not safeguarded. Immediately after the abuse VP of Operations expulsed my child due to my verbal actions. I take full responsibility for my verbal actions. Protecting my child from violence is my 1st priority. Unfortunately the victimized act was disguised and concealed. The lack of accountability and insufficient consequences reveal CCA's unethical business practices. This preschool is amazing! They are so loving and kind to my 4 grandchildren and many of my friends children also. It is like a family at this site. My oldest has been going here for 7 years. I was a big helicopter grandma in the beginning and they helped me to feel so comfortable with him being there. I would highly recommend this preschool. read more

This place has the worst customer service. I had my son in this school, and I pulled him from that school. They are all over the place and their accounting is awful. When we first signed up. They didn't charge me for weeks even though I gave them all my bank information when I initially signed up. I'm a busy mom and Business owner, so I didn't notice-- why would I? They have all my information right? Well, they found the error and charged my bank account $4.5k without even calling or asking me if it was okay for them to run that big of an amount. Luckily for me, I have enough money in the bank for transactions in that amount to go through. But it annoyed me that they did that, because what if I didn't have that money.... They could have caused a lot of financial problems for us if we didn't have that amount. All because of their accounting mess up. I decided to pull my son from the school for various other reasons. And I gave the two weeks notice and my son went to school for 2 days out of the 5 days. So on 4/28 and they charged me for the full week vs. only charging me for the 2 days. I was told "I would get a refund check in the mail totaling $210, and I still have yet to receive that." Then on May 2nd they proceeded to charge my bank account for ANOTHER week for $350 even though my son isn't even enrolled or attending the program anymore. I called and was speaking to the director named Shannon, and she was helpful in the first phone call about the 4/28 transaction. But the May 2nd transaction immediately told her "I'm starting to get frustrated that this keeps happening... as my son isn't enrolled in this program and you are illegally charging me." And I mentioned we haven't received the other check and I Demanded to have both checks written out to me. And she told me "she wasn't sure about the first check for $210, but she would take care of the $350 for may 2nd." And I told her that was unacceptable and that I wanted my money for both dates and she HUNG UP ON ME last Friday. And still has yet to call me back. So I sent my husband up there, because I am busy running my business and he went and they gave him a check that is short $60. They wrongfully charged me and I feel like I'm chasing them to get my own hard earned money back!! I've left 2 voicemails since last week trying to get a hold of her and she's been in office ALL day today and has been ignoring me. This place is an absolute mess to me and it's not very sanitary, and kids always have snot on their little faces. I wish I could give this place 0 stars but unfortunately 1 star is the lowest. DO NOT take your children to this place ! All they want is to take your money but they do not take care of children correctly. I've seen / heard multiple bad reviews about abuse here and now, personally knowing someone who experienced it, breaks my heart as a mother. It's a shame that this place is even considered a safe place for children, it's even more of a shame that Shannon Spencer has the tittle of "director". *They give children expired food/milk. *Leave children with unqualified staff. *Give medications that aren't approved. *Don't supply classes with materials needed to actually educate children like needed. Yes, you will walk in and see toys and activities but they are repeated day after day after day. *Theres no accountability for bad behavior, children who are violent or sick are allowed to return and or stay when they should be sent home. *ITS DIRTY! *School pick ups are often late. *And the worst part about this place, Shannon. A director who does not report unsafe situations to cps like her job title requires. She doesn't send in reports to licensing as her job title requires, i.e. lice situations or bites. If you took the windows off this place so they couldn't see when people were about to walk in they wouldn't know what to do with themselves. I get it, child care is expensive and this place is cheap but there's a reason for it. Keep looking. read more

Took my child here and was constantly sick, My child got Hand Foot Mouth disease and I wasn't made aware of it going around until he got it really bad. I was not notified of the outbreak and then turned out 8 other kids had it too. My child would constantly cry in fear when I would announce that it was time to go to Childcare, then continue begging me not to take them there. I didn't see it as a red flag until I saw how the terrible SOME not All teachers would treat the kids. -Some teachers are rude to the kids -Make faces when my child would arrive, crying because they didn't want to stay there. -A teacher goes out to smoke by her vehicle then continues inside the Childcare room smelling like cigarettes. -Manners are not taught because some teachers do not have any. - Kids are always sick because toys and classrooms are not cleaned properly. I was searching for care for my kids shortly after school began as the ESS program at my kids' school was booked out and couldn't accept new enrollment at the time. I had just started a new job, so was searching for child care asap! I have seen CCA's vehicles at my kids' school during drop offs and pick ups, so decided to try n call to see if they had any openings. Not only did anyone ever answer the phones, but no one ever gave me a call back either. I had called and left 3 voicemails (different days and times) stating my interest and to see if there was any openings so my kids could go there if possible. Not one call was ever made to me. That's pretty bad service if you ask me...even if there was no openings, they could at least call you so you know and can search elsewhere... read more

We didn't need to put our child in daycare/ preschool, but at 2 years old, we decided we wanted to start socializing our son and make sure he was getting used to a more structured environment with an emphasis in learning. In the beginning, sickness was a huge struggle (lots of germs with daycare/ school/ kids). Because we didn't need to use daycare, we highly considered pulling him out. His pediatrician urged us to reconsider saying it's typical for kids to get sick while in daycare/ school and it would actually benefit him to build up his immunities. He was right...he rarely gets sick anymore (2 years later), and when he does, it is not bad. While potty training, we had our son in underwear during the day, and he was usually fine. One day, he had an accident, and his normal teacher was on break when I picked him up. I noticed he was saturated while putting him in the car. I complained to the school that the fill-in teacher didn't notice, and they took immediate action. I didn't see that teacher in his class again after that. He has built some amazing bonds with classmates and teachers. He is now getting ready to start Kindergarten in August, and I think this group at Children's Choice has been able to prepare him very well for the upcoming change. I went to drop off my granddaughter today and witnessed a crying infant baby in the bumble bee room being held with their face under water as the caregiver used her hand to funnel water to their face to clean off snot, when let up from the water the infant was gasping for breathe and when it finally caught left out a blood curdling scream to which the caregiver replied sweetly, well i had to get your boogies. This was horrifying to watch, the baby had been crying for 15 minutes while I was there along with two other infants in the room. I promptly announced that I would take my granddaughter back with me and left. Beware of this facility. Teachers are impatient and yell at children. My grandbaby will no longer be attending. My son has been coming here for about a year now. I should have written a review a long time ago. I literally can't tell you how much he LOVES his "school". We drive by all the time and he shouts "Look there's my school mommy! I love my school." I feel like my son is thriving here. All of the teachers are very patient and my son loves all of them. Miss Shannon is an amazing Director, she's always willing to work with you. All the staff greets us with a smile and all the kids at drop off and pick up remember to say hello and goodbye to their friends. Before I found Children's Choice Academy, I kept running into high priced or not so safe looking daycares with minimal educational programs. My son is 3 years old and knows his ABC's, 123's, can count to 100, knows his days of the week, months of the year, can read some 3 to 5 letter words and so much more. He has grown so much over this past year and I have Children's Choice Academy staff to thank for that. I can't wait to see where my son is in the next year to come. If your looking for a daycare for your little one, Children's Choice Academy is the place to bring them. My daughter thrives at Children's Choice. She has been there since she was 6 months old and she is now 3 and a half. Every week she comes home singing new songs and demonstrating new abilities. I have sat in on classes and witnessed the excellent care and education these teachers are providing. The kids do arts and crafts every day, get lots of play (very important for toddlers), and are read to and loved. My daughter often pretends to read books to me just like her teacher, and asks if her teacher can come over to our house - she obviously loves her. Regarding the claim that "the teachers are visibly stressed," wouldn't you be stressed after spending all day with little kids? Teachers choose their profession out of passion, and if you show them respect and appreciation, you will see that passion in their eyes. Regarding the claim that "if you took the windows off this place so they couldn't see when people were about to walk in they wouldn't know what to do with themselves," uh, there would still be a hole in the wall to see through, sweetheart. I would highly recommend Children's Choice to anyone seeking a caring, educational, well-priced environment for their child. I want to start by saying I Look at 7 different schools before choosing one to take my children to. I had just moved back to California and was a Stay at home mom but I needed to find a place that I could trust with my 17 month old and 4 year old. Money is extremely tight as a single mom (as many others know)when I first walked into the Preschool I saw Shannon (the director) at the desk and she greeted me with a great smile and was extremely informative and listened to all of my concerns. My Children have now been going here for 6 months and I feel great knowing everyone that has interactions daily with my kids. The children have great relationships with the teachers and you can see the bonds they have with them. The meals are different every day, each child has a cubby space for their own items and the teachers are very personable it makes you feel as though you are leaving them at a close friends house and not a daycare/preschool. When you have a concern they listen or if there is a and illness (which is at any school setting) going around they give a heads up and if a fever or other issue pops up they call and expect a timely pick up to ensure they safety of not only your child but to ensure that the others are protected as well. They use phrases like "Not nice" or "No thank you" when the kids do something they shouldn't. When they are acting out they are talked to and the situation is handled in an appropriate manner. If have. There are some children that have been there since infancy and are now in the preschool room and become attached to certain teachers so I have also seen firsthand on 2 separate occasions when a child is just having a bad day and is uncontrollably upset because their parent left and they wanted to stay with them. In a case like this the teachers all came together to get the child to the teacher they were most comfortable with and after just holding the child for a few minutes or braiding a little girls hair gave them enough time to talk it through to where they had calmed down and then be able to return to their class room. Each age group has their own playground with age appropriate toys and scheduled playtime. In the classrooms the teachers sit on the ground with the kids, sing songs and read books with them. They have a schedule with breakfasts, lunches, free time, outside time, art time, a librarian comes to read stories to them. The class sizes a small with I LOVE!!!! My oldest just started Kindergarten and they Work with me to make sure that everything was put in to place so transportation would be put in place. I installed my own car seat into their van and they totally understand and respect my rules. If I have any concerns or questions I can make sure they are known and know that they are being addressed. I have first hand seen the toys being sprayed down and cleaned. There are cameras inside of the facility. I could continue to list all of the things that I love about this place but I would have to write a book. If you are looking for a place that has people who genuinely care for the children as if they were their own this place is awesome. I honestly could not ask for a better group of women to trust my children with. read more

My son was kicked out of childrens choice on los coches rd even after they knew I was seeking professional help with his adhd. They never worked with me like this daycare does. After searching for a daycare, i ran into a couple home daycares that were straight trash, my daughter was 3 months old and i thought hell no i need to find a reliable actual facility that i can trust. I stumbled upon this daycare, back then they were called all about kids- i met shannon the director, i asked her about 30,000 questions and walked the place up and down and immediately fell in love. My daughters been there since she was 3 months old and she is now 4 years old so if that doesnt say something idk what else could. Theyve since been purchased by childrens choice but thankfully they kept the entire staff, my daughters been from the baby room with ms crista and amanda, all the way up. I absolutely love Amber, shannon and all of the girls here. They have taught my baby so much, watched her grow into the little lady she is and i was probably one of the most neurotic hellicopter parent theyve had to deal with (i already know you guys are laughing reading that part) but they handle it amazing. I never have to question if my daughter is being taken care of or loved. They love her as if she was their own. Regardless of where i work, where i go, i will continue to keep my baby in this preschool and will most likely use them for before and after care for when she goes to kindergarden because they are the only ones i truly trust to take the best care of her and love her, plus my daughter absolutely loves and adores them. Bottom line- If you want a place you can trust, with amazing teachers who will love, teach and raise your kid like second parents for when you have to work then this is the place.
